I recently adopted a dog from the local animal shelter and this vet was recommended to me from…read moresomeone at another clinic I had contacted to get information on spaying. I scheduled a required 2-week check-up that I was told was going to cost $45. A few days prior to her appointment, my dog began constantly scratching and licking. My dog had started scratching her belly to the point where it was bleeding so I called to see if I could bring her in early. I was told I could bring her in that day. I had all of her records with me from the shelter, and handed them to the person who came out to get my dog from the car (no owners were allowed in with their pets due to C19). When I spoke with the vet she kept asking questions that I didn't know the answers to (hence the reason I brought the records) and was told someone was entering the data in their system. The vet ended up prescribing an ointment; antibiotic; steroid and I was talked into buying a worm prevention medicine as well since I live 20 minutes from their location and didn't want to drive back just for that in the spring. The visit cost $199.28, which was a lot more than I thought I'd be paying just for ointment and exam, but I trusted the vet to know what was needed for the dog to get better. She sold me 15 ml of ointment for $28.73. I found it through a website for $12.99. FOR 30 ml. They charged me TWICE as much for HALF the amount. I was also charged about 3x more for the exact same antibiotic (cefpodoxime 100 mg/ 32 pills for $68.70 or $2.15 for 10x the amount of pills my dog needed) which would've been $.79 per pill through the same website. The dosage for the antibiotic was also too high for my dog's weight and noticed a marked change in her behavior by the 3rd day: she had started drooling, would shake, and seemed extremely anxious where she'd been very calm previously. The vet didn't include and directions or info, other than what was printed in the bottle; 1 1/2 pill per day And I realized that the instructions could either be read to administer 1/2 a pill per day, or 1.5 per day (which is what I'd been given my dog). I called to confirm and spoke with (2) different people who said that it was supposed to be 1.5 ~ when I looked it up, that dosage was for a dog 15 pounds heavier than mine. They also forget to put her folder in the bag of meds they gave me. I was shell shocked from paying 3x for a vet visit what I thought it would cost and didn't notice until they called and I had to drive back to pick up my dog's records. Later that day I received a call from them to confirm my dog's appointment for two days later that I made initially. I explained that I wasn't going to be keeping that appointment since they'd been able to see my dog that day. The woman who I had been working with (from my call that morning; taking my dog into the clinic; entering my dog's info into the system/forgetting to return the info; bringing my dog + prescriptions back to the car; calling to let me know the documents were still there; bring the documents out to me when I drove back) told me she didn't realize it was the same dog. It was no surprise when I tried to order the ointment online and the clinic wouldn't work with the store to get the prescription filled. They clearly don't care about the pet, it's all about the money.

This breeder is producing less than genetically sound German Shepherds. I personally had the…read moreunfortunate experience of owning one of her dogs that was literally a genetic mess. For starters he had kinked tail. Otherwise known as Hemivertebrea, Stacy, the owners daughter told me it happened due to overcrowding in the uterus. Reality, it is a genetic condition. That can also effect the dogs other vertebrae in the spine. My dog had Medial Luxating Patella, also, a genetic condition, that should never have occurred because the breeder claims to do OFA testing on all her dogs. My boy had bad arthritis by the age of 18 months. When contacting the breeder, I was told it was my fault, I "overworked him" it was environmental, so she tried to tell me. However my orthopedic specialist believed that was not the case. Later he started to develop lameness in his hind legs. When taking him to another specialist they believed it was neurological. More than likely his hemivertabrea was in his spine as well. We had an appointment with a neurologist when he passed away from unexplained bloat. Which can and is usually genetic, past through family blood lines, as well. Later after posting to several FB groups I have had several owners privately contact me telling me of their orthopedic problems with their dogs as well. Several have had dogs with bilateral hip replacements at young ages often by the age of 2. One pup had bilateral hip dysplasia and passed at the age of 8 months from bloat. Another one of this breeders dogs also had a kinked tail. This breeder is not being honest with what she is producing and is often brushing it off as a "one time unfortunate thing." When my dog passed away I tried to inform the Stonehill family on her FB group, however she would not approve the post, later I was removed completely from her FB page. Even though I do own another one of her dogs. The reason for this is a buyer beware. This is happening far too often with her dogs, and it is all being covered up, or dismissed as the owners fault, or a "one time occurrence ". Majority of owners I have spoken to have contacted me privately, I have every DM saved. I believe strongly in maintaining breed integrity and this is not happening. Unfortunately my boy passed away at the age of only 4.8 yrs old. He passed from unexplained Bloat, again it's genetic and I am not the only one of her dogs owners that have experienced this. Yes bloat can happen to anyone, the night my boy got it, he simply ate his food, only 2 cups, had a small drink of water and within 2 hrs , we had to put him down. The health issues are horrible, none of these dogs should have ever, had to suffer a lifetime of pain due to substandard breeding. This breeder claims all her dogs are OFA tested, if this was true, why are so many getting severe hip issues, and like my boy Medial Luxating Patella?? Beware I will give 1 star, because he was the best boy, and did have a wonderful temperament.

Since I'd never done this before I was hesitant to trust my little friend to strangers. My pup passed her meet-and-greet with flying colors, and it eased a good measure of my discomfort. After having boarded her several times now, were BOTH happy with their staff and services. I never worry about her while she's there, and I often forget to even check in on her (except when my grandkids ask if we can see her!). Now when I pack her things, she knows where she's going, and it's not uncommon for her to be too excited to eat or drink, and even if I'm not ready to leave she'll get in the car and won't get out. We're both happy we found Four Paws Hotel and Day Resort! (I referred my sister to them, and now her dog is a regular when she leaves town as well.)

Limbaugh but I stuck with the practice for my dog who had lots of health issues. De. Limbaugh and he staff were great and helped me through the hard process for having to put down my 13 year old dog last year and helped me this year with my new puppy. Because of her kindness and understanding last year I will remain a client of hers. I had my cat get sick the week before I scheduled my dog to be put down, and ultimately had to my cat down as well. I spend nearly $2k on about a week on both of my animals and unfortunately lost both of them. Doc and all of her staff were amazing and super compassionate. It was the week before Christmas and obviously not a great time for me. I will never forget their kindness!
