Vet had 3 emergencies (for the same thing) that night one after another. She wasn't able to remove all the quills but did an excellent job trying. On Monday the dog started trying to cough something up. The vet did a follow up call and told us that wasn't normal to take her to our vet asap. Our vet had surgery all afternoon and couldn't see her. So we called Davison Veterinary hospital. To my surprise they got her in right away. They put her out and did xrays and found 2 quills on each side of her throat and 2 quills in her gums. They were so kind and professional and understanding. Maybe its time to switch? First, you get to meet Wanda, the office staff, not only kind, nice, friendly, caring, but really good at what she does. And, yes, this also describes Dr. Taylor. Professionally, she is very knowledgeable, experienced, and wants what is best for your pets, and, she takes the time to help you understand whatever the situation is. Her staff of Vets and others at the Lapeer location are equally great to deal with. The Lapeer location is not only a "Vet office". It is equipped with the technical medical equipment for serious diagnosis. I had to take a dog in for an emergency on a Saturday morning. Their response was immediate, thorough, caring, and my dog and I left in much better shape.

He died in the car before we could get to the caring vet that we would have normally gone too if it wasn't an emergency

The only negative is they do not keep appointment times. They may put you in a little "care" room, but you end up waiting a ways past your appointment time before someone comes to take care of your pet.

We first saw him sixteen years ago when our dachshund was six weeks old. Since then he has helped us through regular care, sicknesses and a couple of emergencies. There had never been a time when I did not trust his opinion or take his advice. He is just that good. He also has the biggest heart for his patients and their humans. I can't imagine ever taking my pets anywhere else!

The story goes like this - I moved and thought I'd try a new vet that was closer to home and recommended by Neighbor's . Well our 3rd visit within one month trying to relief for my dogs discomfort with that other vet or and a bundle of $$$ - I called Dr Baylis to help my girl out of so much pain! He did immediately! Dr. Baylis, seen my dog within the next hour! / Lanced the abscess and relieved my dog from so much pain ! Dr. Baylis and his staff are always very kind, empathetic, and comforting - Always gets lilly in to be seen quickly. Dr Baylis takes the time out to explain and demonstrate what procedure he did . Dr Baylis is great at taking time to understand and discusses all my concerns and what if's and fix my girl without unnecessary procedures. Dr Baylis stays up to date on veterinary procedures, and medications which provides my dog with faster relief and recoveries! The staff, is also very friendly and helpful and patient. Lilly and I always leave there feeling much better and relieved. Last but not least, I leave there without always feeling my credit card was gouged$ Dr Baylis and his group have my vote and confidence ! And many of my friends truly trust their pets with him!
