Our trip was planned last-minute while my brother was home on a short military leave before he had to return to Guam. We wanted to go fishing and sprinkle our dad's ashes to mark the end of probate, and this crew turned what could've been a heavy, emotional trip into something profoundly meaningful and beautiful. Despite being closed for renovations, Captain Steve and his wife, LeAnn, reopened just for us because our dad had fished with them many times over the years. They even rearranged their own holiday plans to make sure we could come. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of people they are. From start to finish, they handled everything. They helped us secure a last-minute car rental, cleaned and processed all our fish for shipping home, and woke up early--on what should've been their day off--to make sure we were fed, warm, and taken care of. Leann cooked five-star meals for us every day--breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She truly is the "hostess with the mostest!" And the highlight we'll be talking about forever? They cooked fresh crab for us right on the boat. Pulled from the ocean and cooked and eaten by hand on the spot--it doesn't get any better than that. We were also incredibly blessed with wildlife sightings. Over the course of our trip, we saw two pods of orcas, playful sea otters, several seals, and even a bald eagle--which meant more to us than words can say. The eagle is a special spirit animal for my brother and I, a symbol we deeply associate with our dad, and seeing one felt like a sign that he was with us. Captain Steve chose the perfect place for us to spread our dad's ashes--one of the spots he used to take him fishing. Evan, the sweetest and most attentive deckhand, helped us every step of the way and even brushed the snow off our car before we left. Every detail was handled with genuine care and kindness. This wasn't just a fishing trip. It was a healing experience, a family moment, and a memory we'll carry for the rest of our lives. We felt cared for, supported, and welcomed like family. We can't wait to come back in the summer for halibut, but for now, the salmon--and the memories--are perfect. Captain B was excellent from the minute we got on the boat to when we disembarked.. a true pro with 33 years experience he said. We had beautiful weather and started out going for King Salmon with down riggers. The Deckhand Randy was also good and started out by stating he had "Saved 8 men overboard" & "I got the biggest balls in Homer". We started catching right away and Captain B would come down to net the bigger fish and mutter "Randy.. your a disaster today" I think it was all part of the act! We caught the KING limit and silver limit in no time without losing many fish at all.. maybe it was the walking stick?? Captain B then took us to a beautiful cove.. complete with a BAR to finish the day fishing for Rockfish! After about an hour we had the limit in Rocks and headed to the bar but the Captain couldn't find it? Nice ride in watching Randy filet all the fish! Great charter/ great time.. highly recommend. We were on a six pack with three other gentleman and it was a great day since the boat got three 40-50 lbs halibut (my son's was a largest, the Trophy fish). We did get some salmon, rock cod later but they were pink and silver salmon not King. Still a lot of fun and good eating! They are connected with the Homer Fish Processing operation on the Sterling Highway on your way into the spit. Easy. Nice. Recommend!

Brad knew the names of all the beautiful volcanoes in the Aleutian range looming in the distance. We caught a lot of Halibut! The boat was pretty deluxe. I wanted to live on it. Brad filet'd the fish on the way back, and a fish processing boy was waiting for us at the dock. Getting the fish vacuum-sealed and frozen was a cinch! I'd definitely fish with Silver Fox again!

It started with an outstanding safety briefing on emergency equipment, introduced his outgoing mate Clayton, who will be a Captain this year and Jake who had his first trip with us under the watch of the seasoned Captains. Fished two days with Mike and crew and couldn't be happier! We caught four species on day one and missed our King limit by 1. Day two was just as good, although the King bite wasn't to be had. Two day total of fillets that we sent for processing was 230lbs ! Mike and his crew love what they do and it shows, this is a no BS crew that wants you to catch fish and works hard to make you happy. He got us on the fish right away and filled us in with local knowledge, stories, etc. the guy busted is ass for us all day including cleaning and packing up or fish. Top notch. The place is close to the launch, which is an experience in itself. It's the only place I've seen boats get launched via tractors on the beach. He Cook Inlet has a million halibut charters and I'm sure most are fine. If you want to take away the guessing game, go with these guys.
