Ryan, Matt, and Maddie, all doctoral level PTs, couldn't be better. Ryan, the owner, had tripled his space in an adjacent location with all the equipment necessary to help mend anything thrown at them, since I first got treatment there 8 years ago for post discectomy. I revisited Key following an assault I was the victim of at age 77. It resulted in a titanium hip/leg replacement in October '25 and 3 subsequent weeks in rehab. They enabled me to heal from an open reduction/internal fixation of my dominant right leg. I entered unable to stand from a chair and on a walker. After an intensive 3X/wk regimen at Key for 8 pmonths, I returned to my pre-assault condition going to the gym for walking, power yoga and weightlifting. After a complicated knee replacement, I started working with Dr. Matt Kassir at Key Physical Therapy--and I'm convinced he was a major factor in my recovery. Matt created a clear, detailed weekly PT plan tailored to my progress, complete with safety guidelines and progression strategies. He believed in my commitment, coached me through setbacks, and went above and beyond the expected time and effort to help me succeed. By my 7-week checkup, I had reached a 130-133° range of motion--something I wasn't sure would be possible at the start. He's not only knowledgeable but truly cares. I could not be more satisfied with Key Physical therapy. I needed PT to recover from leg surgery and also had a more significant medical condition that later occurred. Matt was an excellent physical therapist!! I felt that he genuinely cared about my leg condition and overall physical health. Great communication and plan for recovery and strengthening. I have worked with Ryan for 2 years, for several different conditions, including rehabilitating after a hip replacement, a sore ankle and knee, and most recently a painful back. I have osteoporosis too, and he has taught me how to stay very physically active, safely. No matter, what "I throw at" Ryan, he evaluates me, listens and figures out how to help me. His space is very nice and is equipped with weight lifting equipment so he can help teach you how to lift weights safely as you heal. My friend said that his long-term back issues had been resolved there. I have been through PT at several other facilities over the years and am a believer in physical therapy. I had a total knee revision and went through quite a bit of pain with my left knee. I had my right knee replaced 6 years ago as well. This was the first time I have gone to Key Physical Therapy. I had a torn achilles and was sent to a physical therapy center by my doc, a place called ATI (they are a chain, I have gathered). My experience there was less than impressive, to say the least. After looking around for an alternative, I came across KEY Physical Therapy in Carefree, it had a couple of really really good reviews, and it was close by. I started going there several months ago and I cannot say enough good things about KEY and the main person there (the owner, I presume), Ryan. First off, Ryan has been (and still is) completely attentive and interested in the details not only of my original injury, but also of my ongoing progress with PT. Aside from the various exercises in PT (and at home), Ryan always included hands-on manipulation of the injured area, smoothing scar tissue and encouraging regeneration in a way that promotes range of motion and proper healing. He and his staff are knowledgeable, super-friendly, and deliver very personal attention (unlike my brief experience at ATI, which felt more like a mill). I could provide much more supportive detail, but suffice it to say that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Key PT and Ryan in particular. I feel like I have made real progress over the past months working with Ryan (on an injury I was originally told takes a year to heal from). I also appreciate the fact that Ryan never pushed me to do more PT than I was either comfortable with or that was actually needed. Key physical therapy has kept me from 2 equally horrible surgical alternatives to repair bilateral L5/S1 neuropathic problematic disc issues. I was unable to walk in stores without leaning far over a shopping cart, and painfully exercising. Now 3 months of hard work later, I have returned to not only walking, but am back to the gym 5 days per weak, attending hour-long body flow, yoga, & Pilates classes, and lifting weights. Ryan, owner and sole PT, is patient and extremely well trained in relieving pain and correcting physical ailments. Having suffered numerous physical problems in my life and many physical therapists, I had expected the quick in & out the quickly revolving door with a handful of homework models in a half hour or less.
