I do not know whether Mr. Kagarlitskiy was acting under my ex's specific instructions, but on one occasion he came to my home, attempted to open our door, which was very creepy and scary. After failed, he then took out his phone and took photographs through our windows into the interior of our house. On another occasion, he repeatedly came to my office and continued to approach our front desk, even after staff clearly informed him that I did not normally work there. He then left the documents and walked off, and claimed I got "served". The court decided it's not a valid service but more harassment and dismissed the case. He also represented that he had been "sent by the court," which clearly was false and misleading. These actions were highly unprofessional and inappropriate. They also raised serious concerns about whether his conduct went beyond the legitimate service of legal documents and instead facilitated my ex's ongoing pattern of criminal behaviors, including domestic violence, stalking and harassment. If you are considering hiring him, I encourage you to carefully evaluate these issues and conduct your own due diligence. There are many professional process servers available who carry out their work without engaging in conduct that raises these kinds of concerns, and potentially can get your case dismissed due to inappropriate service.

Unfortunately, communication came to a complete stop after that. Over the following month, I sent multiple follow-up emails, made several phone calls, and left a voicemail requesting an update on the status of my service request. Despite these efforts, I generally received no response and no information regarding whether service attempts had been made or what the next steps would be. I understand that service of process is not always straightforward and that delays can occur. My concern was not the delay itself, but the lack of communication. Even a brief update would have been appreciated and would have given me confidence that my case was still being handled. Because I was unable to obtain any solid information after more than a month, I ultimately decided to retain another process server to avoid further delays in my court matter. They just did a terrific job for me on a rush assignment dealing with a particularly difficult Sheriff's Office. They moved heaven and earth to get something done in one day. This is the second time they basically dropped everything and got something done for me that was pretty difficult. They have also finessed a few things in the San Mateo Sheriff's Office. (Frank knows the local Sheriffs and is careful to follow the procedures in each office -- this one needs a declaration re electronic writ even after the change in the SER forms etc...) If you have work in Nor Cal, I can't recommend them highly enough. (I should also mention that they just opened an office right across from CT Corporation in Glendale)

If you don't know who that is, watch the movie Erin Brockovich (2000) starring Julia Roberts. If money wasn't an option, I'd still hire Kriss FIRST before I would an attorney, or at least ask her for a referral first if I needed to work with a good one - just my opinion. I'm sure she has a good team and only works with the best. Personally though, I think she would be a great attorney, if she was one. I've hired a lot of Attorneys and although she is NOT a Lawyer, Kriss Miranda is the best paralegal and is better than a lot of attorneys I've hired in the past for these reasons: 1) She gets a lot more done and quickly. She communicates well. She does detailed, quality work. 2) Kriss always responds quickly. I've had so many attorneys that don't even have time for me or are too busy and they don't email you or call you back, etc. I've had some attorneys to where I had to chase them down just to get status of my case, or a simple update. I'm sure Kriss gets busy, but at least she is really great at returning inquiries, and gives the time to listen to me and issues I may have, even late after business hours and weekends too, just to get the job I need done! 3) Kriss pays attention to the details. To get the level of attention to detail Kriss does naturally, you usually have to hire an entire law firm, or at least multiple attorneys / lawyers. I know this from experience. Again - to get an idea - watch the movie Erin Brockovich. 4) Kriss is really good at research and asking the right questions, she is personable and can trust her by my side and can point me in the right direction. What I mean is that having Kriss is like having a sister in your corner. It's not that she'll lose control or will throw chairs in the courtroom - what I mean is that she'll be passionate and emotionally invested to see you get the best possible outcome. 5) Kriss is honest. Although she can't give you legal advice, she'll make sure the papers get done correctly, and tell you straight up / flat out what the range of possibilities could be if rules aren't followed correctly. Read the other 5 star reviews. There was one recent review I don't agree with (hopefully it gets removed) - because the yelper wasn't even her client. Yelp is for clients and actual customers, not for people who are sore just because they lost and she won against them. But I guess it goes to show she was successful in winning that situation. It literally took me days of calling nonstop to find a good lawyer - and somehow found Kriss instead, I'm so glad I did. If you want someone super smart and passionate like Erin Brockovich - and you want them to care about you like family - you'll get Kriss Miranda in your corner.
