Lots of workers on course doing work. Started pouring rain at 7th hole. Thankfully they gave us a prorated 'credit' for the back nine, but no refund for club rental and taxes. We used credit/refund to buy some golf shirts etc. Ridiculous that they charge an additional $6.43 for Golf Now when booking tee time (you have to look closely on email receipt). Like other reviews, customer service is horrible. Only game in town so captive audience excuses horrible attitudes. People could not work at any other country club with those attitudes and just not welcoming or friendly at all. No Island vibe at all... Watch out too, they will take your money if you don't cancel in 24 hours. Treat you like kids too, pass the carts keys out at tee time, so you need to drop your stuff up front vs bring a cart to your car. Oh and if you are not playing but want to walk along, they will charge you for that too and you count as part of the "foursome"... I get it so you don't have a crowd or slow up play, but my wife coming with me I have to pay for her? There are places that charge rider fees, so somewhat get it, but add that in to the big picture and it is another annoyance. Definitely not worth it. Course is decent, but play in mainland Florida.. A good course that is well maintained. Very friendly and helpful employees. Like a lot of other businesses, they have a strict policy for charging your card if you don't let them know 24 hours in advance if you can't make it. My playing partner had to miss and since it was on my card I was charged. I understand the policy, so I wasn't upset at them, and my playing partner paid for both of us next time we went out. read more

Played a round at Key West Country Club and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. The course conditions were exceptional-- fairways were perfectly striped and tightly mowed, tee boxes were level and lush, and the greens were Impeccable. Given the amount of play this course likely sees, the maintenance team deserves a ton of credit. Pace of play was also a major highlight -- our group got around in just about 4 hours, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable round without ever feeling rushed or held up. This place has a laid-back Key West vibe but clearly takes its golf seriously. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more

Where to begin? I'll start with the staff and policies. We were flying in and had to emergency land in Miami due to fog in key west. Called course as soon as we landed to tell them, they didn't care. They already had my CC info and when we went to play the next day, they said they did that for everyone. I was charged for the previous day and full price for this round. The lack of empathy was alarming but since they are a monopoly they don't care. Oh, and the course is in dog shit shape. Rocks in bunkers, flooding, etc. for $150+. Do yourself a favor, with the amount you all pay for a foursome, go fishing. Do whatever else. I am an avid golfer and will never bring my sticks to key west again. I am new to Key west, but I am a resident. I was offered the resident discount immediately. Also, I came solo. The staff was very kind to me and they fixed me up with another couple and another single player. I had so much fun that I joined the winter league and I look forward to playing every week. After reading reviews about staff being rude and indifferent, I was pleasantly surprised to find this not to be the case. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and professional. The course was in great shape and fun to play. The only drawback is price. It's a little high for this level of golf course but, this is a tourist area, during their snow bird season and it's the only course around. read more

We had a great experience. We were met at our vehicle and our bags were taken immediately. Service both in the clubhouse and on the course was great. Karen (our cart girl) was super great. We got paired with a member and he was great as well. He helped us around the course with shot locations and did what he could to keep us out of trouble. Low expectations were met. The course was fun and in decent shape. The greens were super slow, but golf isn't a big priority for most visiting Key West so didn't expect a TPC experience. The staff were adamant that I cannot bring my coffee or water on the course, but those were sparse once we got out there. It was too hot to treat us that way. Called and made a tee time at 4:30 pm, and was asked to give my credit card to hold the tee time. Was NEVER told that I would be charged the full amount if my guest couldn't come. I drove down here from Miami for 3.5 hours and I didn't receive the email on my drive until after the golf course was closed. I still showed up for my tee time and I was charged for my guest who was sick. This should be MADE CLEAR ON THE PHONE WHEN MAKING A TEE TIME. There are exceptions to every rule!!! This needs to be made CLEAR before I give you my card information!!!! Extremely disappointed in this scam. Be cause of all of the negative reviews, I wanted to make sure I added a review. We played here last week and it was great! Justin met us at the car with a cart and took our clubs. The cart was ready for us when we got to the clubhouse. Bryan was on the desk at the pro shop and could not have been nicer. He was friendly and greeted us. He had our tee time all set and processed us efficiently. Having read how awful the customer service was, I was surprised and impressed. Great first impression. The clubhouse and bar/restaurant look almost brand new. The pro shop is fully stocked with shirts and golf supplies. The course is decently maintained (greens are FAST). Upon arriving, I was told that my top was not going to be ok to wear (I'm driving the golf cart, not playing). It was dressy, with sleeves, no collar. Key West Golf Club - "Unacceptable sleeves" total BS - Golf Near Me - Key West, Florida

A lot of issues to list out here. So I played a year ago and booked through the GolfNow app in which it split our tee times apart (we had 8 people) which we knew was going to happen, the issue that it only split us to have another tee time in between. We asked if we could play together and they said we were not allowed to because we didn't call to book our tee times. Fast forward a little over a year later now I called to book our tee times since we had 8 people again. Later got to the course and they told us "we would never say anything like that" when we told them we could play together. The starter then proceeded to be a smarta** saying we've never clearly played golf before and that were practically idiots. Worst course ever played, irrigation was being worked on on hole #15 which is understandable for not being in good condition. But almost every hole had bad fairways, greens were patchy on a few. Very disappointing stuff for $150 a round. read more

These are, perhaps the most unfriendly people that I have ever dealt with in all of my golf travels throughout the United States. We needed a little bit of help because we had forgotten our wallet - and even though we had already shelled out 260 bucks for our rounds - and all we needed was a way for us to get water. They don't have water on the course and the guy that was working, the golf shop was perhaps the most impersonal and unfeeling Spock I've ever run into in golf. He said he would give us a glass of water......... Save your money and go to boondocks and play mini golf there because you'll be a lot happier and the people are much friendlier. Oh, the homeless people that try to sell you golf balls when you're going down one of the fairways that touches on the main drag that's a lot of fun as well. Checked in 10 minutes with Juan (Assistant Golf Pro) was told that if it started raining after holes played which we only played 2 holes and decided to head in due to the rain. Course is fun and in pretty decent shape considering how hot it is in summer. Cart guy was great. Beverage lady was great. Starter/pro shop man wasn't. Made it pretty obvious that we weren't welcome there and made sure we didn't go out a minute early even though nobody had teed off in more than 20 minutes. Knew I was off to a rough start when I walked in and told him it sure looked like a fun course. His response in low soft tone voice "yea". Kept getting one word answers. Hit some balls in the net and then decided to walk back in to buy a hat. This dude was laughing it up with group that had just finished. Dude your course gets a good amount of play from tourists. Sure I'll prob never be back so u don't give a rats ass about customer service but if your owners hate us that much and don't want us there make it for key residents only. Cart guy and cart lady saved the day for me. I thank the two of you very much. So if you go just know u might have to stomach the pro ship dude and feel unwelcome. Oh dear where do I start. Luckily my husband is an avid golfer so he got us there early to get situated before our tee time. We believed that to be at 7:50 AM but turns out it was 7:15 AM. We also think the same scenario might have occured with the twosome they paired us with because they ended up being late. I didn't book the tee time so can't really comment on what hapoened there but my husband swears he confirmed the time with the club so... The guy in the pro shop was a bit unenthusiastic but the person who gave us our rentals was really nice. We were very luckily we got to play by ourselves because our twosome hadn't shown up yet. I'm very new to golf so I won't speak to any technical aspects of the course. However, I found it very easy to play not counting the infamous Mangrove Hole which was fun. I only lost 2-3 balls whereas I lose a lot more on our home course at our country club. I didn't have a problem with my rentals but my husband complained a lot about his. The course was pretty but I admit I expected a bit more of a tropical oasis resort feel since it's Key West and the only course on the islands. In actuality it's the equivalent of a public course back home with more tropical plants and animals. Speaking of animals, this was a HUGE issue for us. My husband said he essentially considered this course unplayable because of it. I don't know if people are feeding the ducks or if they had nests and babies near by that they were protecting but they were awful! I had to abandon our cart twice because the ducks were trying to jump at me into the cart. On one occassion a duck followed us for two holes and then flew at the cart in a charging manner. Everytime we came anywhere near these ducks they would immediately stop what they were doing to get up and come after you. I wasn't able to play 2-3 holes because of ducks ganging up around the women's tees. The other bummer is that this place is always packed with players. We always had to sit and wait to play the hole ahead of us and everytime we drove by the course during our time on the island the place was just as crowded. It's kind of cool to say you've played the southernmost golf course in the U.S. but, honestly, skip it. I wish we had used the time we played here to sleep in instead and enjoyed a nice buffet breakfast at the hotel. read more

They have a policy against singles. Rat her than booking online I drove there figuring any business wouldn't be so stupid as to turn away $$ that was standing at the register. Wrong! I told Juan that I was a single, had a rider, needs rental clubs and had picked out a $70 shirt to purchase. The total was well north of $200. the time was 10:20. the next tee time that they had in the books was 11:45. So for the next hour and a half, they had no business. This is when Juan informed of the Policy and told me I could play at noon-- an hour and forty minutes later. I wouldn't believe it if it hadn't actually happened. Wow! read more

They sent the confirmation to the wrong email address and when we showed up 10 minutes late (I thought we were early) they told us they could not accommodate us and then charged us for two rounds of golf. I tried to comprising with them and even sent the owner two emails but they wouldn't consider reversing any of the fees. They are the only course in town so I guess we won't be golfing there anymore. This review is geared more towards the customer service and amenities provided by the golf club, not the course itself. Wouldn't waste your time by giving this place your business. The COVID era has made this place harder to get on than Augusta National. The driving range is not a range, it's a big net. They're making all players drive in separate golf carts, regardless if you drove together. Putting area is decent. Customer service is awful. Justin made it seem like they don't want any business during this season and it seemed as if we were bothering him when we called about tee times. If your looking to play a resort level course, go to Cabo or the Bahamas. This is a muni course able to charge $$$ due to being the only golf course within 100 miles. The layout is okay but a tight course with many homes built right to the edge of the cart paths on some holes. Greens are nice and quick but fair. Fairways and rough kept at the level you see at most muni courses. Bunkers are lacking consistency and sand for that matter. We rented clubs but both sets each had only 11 clubs. The staff is pleasant and food okay but next trip I'll skip golf and spend the money fishing. read more

Full disclosure: I did not play the course. I really wanted to and was willing to pay $135 for myself and wife to ride along. They expect you to give cc info over the phone on a recorded call just hold a tee time. After I paid he told me I would be partnered up with another group of strangers despite them not knowing my skill level or the other groups'. We were not informed we would be lumped in with strangers into a foursome until after we paid. At $135 I expected to be able to play on my own terms, the guy at the pro shop would not accommodate us and was not friendly. I was super disappointed I didn't get to play while vacationing in the keys. The course appeared to be in decent shape unfortunately they adhere strictly to some unreasonable rules. Stay away unless you're willing to overpay and play with strangers. They're fools to lose $135 by not letting us play by ourselves, their loss. read more

Ripoff, rude, disappointing. I went along with my boyfriend for a nice relaxing day, yet upon arrival they charged extra for me to "ride along" which was not told prior to me calling when I booked it. Then was forced into a group of 2 other couples ( thankfully they were very nice) but the group was not matched with skill level which dragged our day on, the rest of the day we were harassed by a little weasel man in his golf cart bouncing from group to group, pushing us along every step, he actually followed us into the clubhouse when we went to pick up our food and yelled at me as I took one bite while I was waiting for my boyfriend to pay the bill, if he could've followed me into the ladies room I'm sure he would've scolded me for that as well.He made a relaxing game so unenjoyable, one couple called it quits at the 10th hole, as did we at the 14th. Not to even mention the course is subpar at best, all straight shots surrounded by smelly marsh and a bunch of sand traps. Anyways I'd save your money and your day just go play mini golf. read more
