Nothing bad to say about this creamery!! I came here on a Sunday in the early evening and was pleasantly surprised with how fast service went though it was crowded. There's ample outdoor seating which was a huge plus. The prices are super reasonable and I loved the flight of 4 flavors because I get decision fatigue when I see so many choices! I ended up with Orange Dream, black raspberry, peppermint chip and cherry chip which had bits of cherry in it. I'll definitely be back. read more

Yall. This place is legit. 100% farm fresh dairy ice cream. All of the flavors sounded so good, so I was pretty happy an ice cream flight was an option. My sister, husband, and I each got a flight with different flavors so we got to try a good portion of the menu. The fall specials were all of our favorites though. The girls each got cones, one with orange cream and one with a classic chocolate. Even the classic flavors are so creamy and pretty darn perfect. We stopped in after skydiving, and even though Lorenzo probably would have preferred booze for a post sky diving indulgence, super fresh and creamy ice cream was a close second and more of a family friendly indulgence. Oh. And they had larger pints and stuff to take home as well as fresh blocks of cheese and homemade cheeseballs. I am a regular and just experienced by far the worst visit. Ordered mediums and got ice cream that looked like smalls, asked for a small milkshake made a large and then would accept that they made the mistake and charged us for the size we didn't order. So disappointed!!! read more

I thought that the special flavors were interesting and look forward to more of them! Enjoyed the covered seating area. A little out of the way however it's in the middle of a cow pasture. The ice cream was excellent. Only issue would be restrooms which is a single outhouse. Not a good place for the summer plus no running water. Plenty of parking available and great service. Lots of room and things for kids to play on. read more

It's a small farm ice cream spot with a simple menu and some rules (eg. no pets outside of the car; eat ice cream outside etc). I ordered the cappuccino crunch (single cone) and the ice cream and waffle cone was excellent. So creamy, with a strong coffee flavor. Small, a little off the beaten path, well, kinda, and not much to see or do here but you came for ice cream didn't you?! In my 4 or 5 visits it's never been crowded. There is plenty of parking and the service is fast and friendly. You can get cones, cups, and cheese too. I must warn you, some of the flavors are addicting. I'm a sucker for peanut butter flavors and the "Cow's Feet", albeit with an odd somewhat off-putting name, is insanely good. It's hard not to eat a whole pint. read more

First time visiting Keyes Creamery. (We are new to HDG.) Keyes Creamery did not disappoint! They were somewhat busy, but that's to be expected on a warm spring Friday evening. So many options: ice cream, milkshakes, quarts, pints; they also have many types of cheeses and beef products. (and a lunch menu that I didn't get a chance to look at, but that's for next time) I got a waffle cone with the salted buttery caramel- amazing! My son got chocolate chip cookie dough (I sampled and it was delish) My husband got chocolate peanut butter; also delicious. We ate outside, and there was plenty of seating. We love supporting local, especially if the staff is wonderful and the product is phenomenal. As like most small businesses they prefer cash, (which is understandable) Next time we will bring cash. We were in the area for a lacrosse tournament so decided to swing by. I guess quite a few other folks had the same idea so our wait was a bit long...but worth it. Keyes Creamery is a stop on the Maryland Ice Cream Trail. We had yet to visit this stop so it was even more of a reason to make our way over. Everything we ordered was delish. I kept it simple with a sundae with vanilla ice cream. They have a Sweet Old Bay (I believe was the name) flavor that seemed very popular as well. They also sell an assortment of cheeses and ice cream packaged by the pint. FYI...no dogs or restrooms are available but I am pretty sure that I saw a portable toilet on property. Also when you arrive to the area of the creamery, pay attention to the signage. The entrance may not be as it appears. One driveway that appears to lead to it, is actually private property. Worth the trip to get a trail stop stamped...or just to have some great ice cream! read more

My husband and I thought the pint of vanilla we paid $6.99 for was terrible (weirdly frothy with an off flavor), so we checked the ingredient list. The first three sound normal (though not sure about the "corn sugar"), but then the next ones are: skim powder, whey powder, stabilizer (guar gum, mono- and di-glycerides, xanthan gum, and carrageenan), vanilla bean, dextrose, starch, water, alcohol, propylene glycol, caramel color. Despite the premium price, this is the worst supermarket product masquerading as a local dairy ice cream. We feel scammed. read more

Disappointed. My family was in the area and was looking forward to trying a locally owned ice cream stand - especially after reading the reviews. When I was walking it I should have been more aware after I saw a women's ice cream complete fall out of her cone and onto the ground. Anyway, my family started placing their orders and the fact that they had to weigh every single cone and transfer the melting cone to the scale then back their hand then to our hand blew my mind. Why are we handling this ice cream so many times? At this point 3 of 4 of our orders came out and when my cone finally came the kid with the wimpy size double cone insisted I put it dish because it was melting so bad ... okay not the end of the world - however, he then proceeded to keep holding it because another server started weighing another customers orders. Meanwhile I just watched my cone keep dripping. By the time the cone was put in the dish it was complete mush. While the one flavor I was hoping to try seemed to have some flavor the others in my family said their choices lacked flavor. Cost was $21 for 2 singles and 2 doubles - probably not bad if I actually got ice cream. Keep in mind it wasn't very busy when we were there so I can only imagine how bad it could be if they were busier. I feel terrible for leaving a negative review for a small local business but I am hopeful this review will help improve their process. read more

I came here on my Ice Cream Trail quest with my family. They have a board above the cash register displaying their ice cream options. I selected the red velvet. My husband had the root beer float with vanilla ice cream and my son had the chocolate chip cookie dough. I though my ice cream was very good. I can taste the cream instead of sugar like the store bought ice cream. I like that it's not too sweet with very smooth texture, The downside is that they don't have indoor seating. They do have tables outside and some of the tables are out in the sun so that can be an issue on a very hot day. I noticed that many of their customers just took their ice cream to-go so maybe that is how they usually do it. read more

Great stop, just know the only restroom I saw was a porta potty. So, if you came from a long ride---you've been warned! They offered a great selection on creamy homemade ice cream. I'm a plain Jane, got the vanilla. It was very rich, great vanilla flavor, not overly sweet, and very satisfying. Now folks, I'm not a fan of buying ice cream by weight, but out of the 5 single scoop cups I've purchased, it seems to average around $3.40 a cup. Came here during the Farm day and had a nice tour of their facility. The tour guides were knowledgeable and you can tell that they are passionate and proud of their facility and ice cream. I had the salted brownie and it was delicious. Sweet and creamy. They also sell cheese and beef.
