Small place, confusion about where to stand when placing order. I had to ask a girl standing at the door if she was in line. Then later, another customer that came in asked me the same thing. I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie. 2 people behind the counter, girl at the cash register and a young man complaining (very loudly) to a customer at the counter about spring break college girls, mocking their voices, etc. (It was crowded with a lot of college girls) After 20 minutes of people coming and going, I asked the counter customer how long does it normally take for a smoothie. He wasn't sure. I said if I had known it would be 20 minutes I would not have ordered it. Now the young man turns his attention to me and asks what I ordered and I told him. He then yells in the back and within 2 minutes the smoothie magically appears. The young man LOUDLY announces that the smoothie was FREE as I was on my way out. How magnanimous of this blowhard. I had already paid in cash. So no, it wasn't free. I'm kicking myself for tipping the jar in advance. The smoothie was ok, but Grain & Berry is much better. read more

Amazing find on our recent vacation to Key West! First and foremost - their breakfast burrito is incredible. It comes in a spinach wrap with pico de gallo (fresh salsa), bacon, eggs, cilantro, veggies, and some kind of delicious sauce with medium spiciness. It was blasting with amazing flavor and I now wish this place existed where I live!!! We also tried some of their other breakfast sandwiches which were all very tasty as well: Key - bacon, eggs, and I think cheddar cheese on their Cuban bread. Havana - ham, egg, and Swiss on Cuban bread. Capri - fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil pesto on Cuban bread. I personally did not try any of their coffee but they had a long list of various types and flavors (hot and cold) and none of my friends including my husband complained about any of it so I assume it was great. One thing to note is that they have fresh squeezed orange juice! Yummmm. I wish I found this place the first morning we were there instead of wasting money and calories at some mediocre lunch spot on Duval. Luckily, I found it the second morning and it is where we went every morning after that! I'm just sad that we had so many other places to eat at so we never had time to check out their lunch menu which is full of very promising sandwiches as well! read more

We decided to stay for a bite to eat for breakfast and ordered the avocado toast. The avocado toast was served with eggs on the side. I had overeasy eggs cooked perfectly. I loved the quality of the bread which was topped with mashed avocado and diced tomatoes. It was pretty yummy. I thought, though, the price was a little high. $46 for two drinks and two orders of avocado toast. Having said that, I'd come back for the atmosphere, the drinks and that yummy avocado toast. Egg was perfectly folded and the cheese was gooey. My friend got the sunrise breakfast which had ham, bacon, argula, egg on a corn tortilla. She said it was beyond delicious. I recall the first time I heard of Keys Coffee Co... this young lady we had just met mentioned it during a group bicycle ride around the island; I had never heard of it but was open minded. Before you know it, other local friends had mentioned the place too... I was already intrigued but now I'm getting excited. The first time we decided to try it out, we set our GPS and realized as soon as the directions came up that it was located right in the middle of of a hot spot that we park the car and neighboring a few places we frequent (The Cafe, Kojin and Mister Z's Pizza)... and surprising that we never noticed it. The place is simple decor with typical keys colors and comfortable/laid back appeal. And when we were looking over the menu board we noticed that sweet girl from the bike ride was standing behind the counter (Elena). Turns out she's an owner and how refreshing that she owned the place but never pushed the place on us when we first met her; very modest. That first visit was a smoothie for me and some sort of coffee concoction for Marisol and I was loving it. It's no secret I love the smoothies from Sugar Apple but this was equally as good... Hands down favorite smoothie is the MANGO BERRY SMOOTHIE; I can really go for one right now but I'm 200 miles away, oh well. For awhile I stuck with smoothies but I did end up having a love affair with their COLD BREW... and the only reason I even ventured away from the smoothie is one day we stopped in for a pit-stop while biking around town and the guy behind the counter and I began chatting and he strongly suggested I give it a try and when I said "next time" he insisted "just try it" and offered a small pour for free (kinda of a large sample); he certainly convinced me. Not sure but I think he may have been another owner/partner. As for the food, I have only had a few dishes (mostly shared with Marisol) and have been please each and every time. My personal favorite is their TEL AVIV WRAP (or as I refer to it as their Hummus Wrap); it's a whole wheat wrap with homemade roasted garlic and red pepper hummus with cucumber, tomato, spinach, sprouts and artichoke. And honorable mention for another dish I really like, THE HAVANA (ham, swiss, egg on toasted cuban bread). Definitely make a visit... worth your time. read more
