I attended this school back in 2012-2017 5th to 10th grade before I got fed up and transferred. I don't know how I even made it 5 years here. this is the WORST high school in Florida. Same applies to even the elementary section. I wish I left after the 6th grade honestly. This school has a very SERIOUS problem with bullying and is also full of fake people. Like the bullying at keys gate is VERY bad. I witnessed other students get bullied too. I remember this kid named Ryan who would just stand there watching me get bullied and wouldn't even stick up for me like a real friend would to try and stop it. Many opportunities he had but he just stood there and let it happen like the fake person he is. Like what type of friend even is that? I don't know why I was ever friends with that soft weak two faced coward. I thought friends had each other's back. I think the bullying would've stopped real quick if i had real folks in my circle who would have my back and be ready to throw down whenever unlike that ryan kid who was a fake coward. The administrators do nothing about the bullying. they do not care at all. The students here LOVE to pick fights and start drama. You was either a bully or you got bullied here at keys gate. If you seen that video online of that kid throwing his desk and walking out the class, the environment at keys gate is exactly like that. Atmosphere here was toxic and infested with negative energy. It was that BAD here to the point teachers would quit and we would have a substitute teacher for almost the rest of the school year. I didn't have a single real friend here now I look back. My "friends" talked behind my back and would even join in on the bullying sometimes. I forever stand by my belief that they HAVE to be spraying chemicals in the food at this school or something because I did not get bullied one time over there at homestead senior high where I transferred to back in 2017 and graduated from in 2019. It was like I entered a completely different world when I transferred over there. I had many friends and nobody picked on me over there. Its odd considering I was one of the african american students who dressed like a skater and wore band shirts yet I still didnt get bullied one time. Keys Gate is not a safe school for a child's physical or even mental health. I think the majority of the students I attended this school with were troubled and were only there because no other school in dade county would accept them. The behavior i saw and experienced at keys gate wouldn't have been tolerated at the school i graduated from. Do not enroll your child here. Ok I have been to this school for 3 years and it's alright. They do have stricter rules now especially on uniform maybe due to the fact it is now a 'C' school instead of a 'B'. But one thing I can say is that the way they handle their education is not well. For example this years 6th grade Gifted and Cambridge took Pre-Algebra (an advanced math class) jumping 2 years of math. We had learnt 8th grade math all year, just for us not to go into Algebra. We now got put in "Advanced 7th grade math" which is very ridiculous because there is so many student in there who can easily pass Algebra like they were supposed to. All the students in there have so much potential (both Gifted and Cambridge) to do 9th grade math. It's just simply not fair at all. to start off i dont which ones worse the covid-19 or the school. 2019-2020 online school learning due to the covid they were torturing the kids mentally, my kids were stress and overwhelmed, they had headache's everyday and i had to give my children headache pills. This is unacceptable. I highley do not recommend this school. At first i thought it was one of the best schools in homestead when i first moved from Virginia, compared to a school in Virginia its not even a school, also their school lunch is horrible its jail food. They always asking for money like im a bank. Oh and now upcoming school year they expect kids to be on a computer from 8:00 am to 2:00pm and then on top of that they want to give them online homework after. Y'all are going to drive the kids crazy and i dont have the time nor money to pay for a psychologist. Even the teachers and staffs are leaving. Come on now you guys have to think its a difference between kids being in school physically where they switch classes move around, go to the restroom, do p.e or dance, and eat lunch etc... Now kids have to sit down for 6 hours in a chair in front of a computer like their in a office at a job. By the time my kids finish for however long this online learning will continue ill have to take them to the eye doctor, orthopedic doctor, and psychologist doctor. I hate it there!.they give us too much homework and they punish us if we don't do it that can give stress to a kid like me and make them kill people or have mental issues.Today they gave me 5 homework's and I can't find one I started crying and I almost wanted to not goo because I'm scared of the teacher. This school is definitely not what it use to be. My boys were students a few years ago for about 3 years then it went crap! They're over crowded unorganized and unprofessional! They're in it for the money definitely not for the child's education. Once your child graduates from the elementary transfer them ! Too bad because they had so much potential read more
