When I first came here on August it was good we had a great principal but sadly got fired. Another thing is that we can't use our phones even when school is over. So has I said I would not recommend sending your child to this school. I recommend a different private school.

The level of education provided seems different than that of a regular public or magnet school. The amount of homework given is definitely more than most, but my daughter has soared since attending school here. Her 1st Grade teacher is amazing and still checks on her even though she is no longer in her class. (I am not including her name to keep other teachers from being jealous ) The parents are active in the school as well. They recently held an event called SMACK Night where it dealt with Science and Math activities (Science and Math Activities Connecting Kids). This is not the only event that the school holds. They beautify their campus by Campus Cleanups. They have a Butterfly Garden. All of the activities get the parents and students involved with the school as well as develop pride in the school as well. Mr. Calzadilla is a great principal, and he has amazing Asst. Principals, teachers, and Support Staff as well. OH, most importantly, the school has been an A school for many years and it is a Green School as well. I can go on and on about this school simply because the school, and it's employees, have earned it! Check their website for the Magnet Application. www.airbasek8.net

Apart from Spanish being my first language who used to barely speak English while attending there, there's a lot of bullying and no acceptance to Hispanic culture or anyone who's considered "different". I was a victim of bullying apart from that I know I wasn't the only one as many other students went through the same things by students who where favorited by teachers and does in the office. Teachers will also not teach the intended materials, although not all were like this- it was a chance of 1 teacher out of all of the other ones that you have. Students will belittle teachers as well have no respect either from students to teachers or teachers to students. While I attended there I witnessed from a students being fat shammed then being thrown water on them to cases of sexual assault, robbery, suicide attempts as well a students making a teacher cry (she was the kindest teacher out of all of the others). I had multiple teachers also quit which caused us to miss out on a lot of material where we would then have to have final year test or quizzes knowing barely anything or nothing at all. They have no control over students or about their school entirely. I left that school before the pandemic only good thing they did is let me pass the grade during that year, I then transferred to Richmond heights (which was a difficult process do to them not giving us a paper needed for me to transfer, only way we got that paper was to give them a warning that we would then sue)- that school for me was such a big change from being to a big school to then a smaller one. But being there made my relationship with school, teachers and students way better and more trustworthy.

Administrators are sometimes dismissive and unprofessional. If you are choosing to go here, do NOT PICK DIGITAL MEDIA AS YOUR ACADEMY. My level of work stress has significantly increased since my decision to attend this school. I have excellent grades, A's and B's, but this school is so bad I truly don't recommend it. I wish I never went here. This school was probably much better in the past, but it definitely fell off. The kids aren't that awful from my experience; it's the schools and how they do things. Honestly, as I think about moving for my senior year, I regret wasting the past three years here; I feel that I truly learned nothing. There are some amazing teachers who I believe should work in a place where their work would be highly appreciated. And also most of the academics are underfunded and waste their money on stupid morals.

But one thing I can say is that the way they handle their education is not well. For example this years 6th grade Gifted and Cambridge took Pre-Algebra (an advanced math class) jumping 2 years of math. We had learnt 8th grade math all year, just for us not to go into Algebra. We now got put in "Advanced 7th grade math" which is very ridiculous because there is so many student in there who can easily pass Algebra like they were supposed to. All the students in there have so much potential (both Gifted and Cambridge) to do 9th grade math. It's just simply not fair at all. Like they spent all their hard work on passing just for this to happen. But all I can say is that this school is average.
