We took jet skis out and the guy told us we had one hour from the time we were in open water. It took about 10-15 minutes to go through the channel and get to the water. When we got to the open water he stated again that we had one hour. We came back to the meeting place 2 minutes until our time was up and he was no where to be found. We waited 20 minutes for someone to bring us back to the dock. They charged us an additional 30 minutes for their own mistake of not waiting for us for the full hour, for which we paid. It's advertised as 1 hour of jet ski riding, but apparently it's false advertisement. Basically they want to charge you for an hour but give you 30 minutes to ride since it takes 15 minutes to get in and out of the channel. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for false advertisement and overcharging prices. read more

He was thorough with the instructions and made sure we knew what to do and expect out on the water. The rental location is right on a canal that connects to the ocean. Kenny escorted us out to the ocean through the canals on our way out and then met us and escorted us back through the canal after the hour was up. read more

Came out to the Keys with the kids to snorkel but conditions turned and we were facing a long quiet drive home when my kids spotted Keys Skis and Adventures and it turned into a fantastic afternoon. The jet ski area is a solid two miles by four miles of pristine ocean (well, pristine except for the pesky seagrass) and the skis go up to 35 mph, which makes for an exhilarating ride. Pack sunscreen and sunglasses and for $99 an hour plus an extra ten for a kid to ride and it's an excellent day. The hour only starts once you get out to the ocean so the time in the canals isn't counted - our hour was closer to two and the kids are still talking about how much fun they had. read more

I just had a terrible experience with keys skis 2 hour tour, and would not recommend this experience, especially to novices on pwc's. First, I was told on the phone this would be a private tour. I thought that would be great since my wife had a lot of anxiety about going on a jet ski, we have our own guide and can go at our own pace. It is not at all private, but a group of 4 other jet skis (8 other people). Us, being the novices, we're just a drag on the rest of the group. Second, I was told to be there at 5. When I arrived at 4:50, we soon found out the whole rest of the group had been waiting for us ready to go (we didn't even think there was more people), and slightly perturbed we were late. We had no idea as they didn't tell us to arrive any earlier. Third, I had ridden a jet ski once before, a long time ago, on a LAKE, by myself. That is quite different from the choppy waters we encountered in the ocean. Since we had no instruction, and the rest of the group was cruising really fast, i tried to keep up and ended up wiping out. That's when my wife was done, and decided she couldn't go on, so we headed back. Not even 20 minutes into our 2 hour private trip. The guy back at the counter offered us not even a partial refund, nothing at all. I feel slightly deceived and mislead about what it was we were signing up for, and that a partial refund would be warranted. read more

Very Unpleasant Trip. We bought four group tickets for 4 couples ( 8 ppl ) online for both Jet Ski and Kayak bundle. While we finish the Jet Ski trip, there are only two couples wanna do that Kayak trip. Basically that 4 bundle tickets could have 4 kayak boats, but the owner refuse to provide 4 boats only because for those two couples, they only have 2 bundle tickets. Since the other 2 couples don't want to do that kayak, we suggest to transfer those two couple's tickets to the 2 who want to kayak, so that those four ppl could all have kayak ticket. BUT THE OWNER REFUSE TO TAKE IT. And it's already 4:30pm, only 30 mins actually left for kayak, THE OWNER STILL CHARGE THOSE 4 PPL $40 FOR KAYAK. Went on a jet ski tour Saturday morning at 9am with my husband. We shared a jet ski and went on the tour with the instructor. Didn't catch his name but he knew the waterways very well. He reviewed operations, safety, and summary of the tour before we took off. We crossed the ocean then went thru gorgeous mangrove areas both spacious and narrow, a must see when you visit The Keys. Speeding thru the bayside waters on a flat day was awesome, and viewing the intercoastal homes old and new was very cool too. The 2 hour tour is well worth the price and we are so glad we took this adventure to see many different areas of the waterways! Much better than any booze cruise we've tried! read more

My husband and grandson took a 2-hour tour at Keys Skis and were shown pictures of what they would see on the ride. They saw no wildlife whatsoever on the ride--nothing! Although the jet ski ride itself was completely enjoyable, a $200 fee was added at the end for some scratches to the jet ski. The problem is that the trip guide stated that the scratches were on the left (port) side of the jet ski, and my grandson did run into some mangroves, but on the right (starboard) side of the jet ski. It seemed like a convenient way to tack on some extra charges at the end. There were scratches all over the jet ski, so the watercraft must have been paid for many times over, if everyone had to pay between $200-$500 each time a new scratch appeared. Additionally, when I arrived to pick up my husband and grandson at the end of the ride, I paid cash for the "damages," and the guide made a snide remark to my husband about "why did you let that lady pay that $200?" OMG! Why would our personal relationship be brought into why/who should pay for jet ski scratches?!?! Very unprofessional. I see that many other people had the same experience of feeling like they were scammed. I thought it was just us! This was a very negative experience overall and I, too, like many other customers, would like to warn future customers to beware. read more

Bad Part: I first called KeysSkis a few days before the adventure date to make sure the triple package deal (kayak, jetski & parasailing) was available to reserve. I was told the Captain would be in to sail the boat for parasailing on Thursday and not again until Monday. So I reserve Thurs and because so, that'd be the day I propose to my girlfriend! Few better ways to do it than the keys!!! ;-) So I show up Thurs and there is no reservation under my name... ticked me a bit because I was told I was reserved but it was fine since it didn't affect our time there. Then they told me the Captain wasn't around to sail us for parasailing... (Woah strike #2! I thought) I replied: the girl on the phone said he would be specifically on that date only and that's why I chose Thur... No brief explanation was given for me to better understand why I wasn't parasailing & neither do I remember hearing an apology or a statement for future improvement. I really am not one to assume viewpoints but it just didn't appear to be a big deal to the employee, so fine what could I do. I was given a voucher for 'next time'. Luckily I live in Miami 1 hr away. Not sure the solution for out-of-towners though Good Part: We had a greatttt time jetskiing and was pleased to see we were given the full 30 minutes to ride around. We kayaked for 2.5 hours out into the open ocean and my girlfriend had a relaxing time falling asleep out in the water drifting about. I had never ridden on a wave runner in my life (50 yrs old) but my husband had so I felt safe and he assured me he would pull the seaweed out of the exhaust if need be. We choose the two hour "tour" which is basically a high speed game of chase , but also some slower paced trails . Once I over came my anxiety attack and followed the instructions of Louis( our guide) I started to feel like a pro,(with my hubby following behind), and since there was only one other person in our tour group it made it easy to stick together . The only reason I found out about this place was because of Group-on. I found a deal of $90 for an hour on the jet ski and the rest of the day on a kayak. I've never been on a jet ski but Brian was very thorough with all the explanations. The one annoying this about jet skiing is that the seaweed always gets stuck to the bottom so you have to get off and take the seaweed out and let me tell you it's so hard to get back on the jet ski (at least for me) but other then that I really enjoyed the hour I spent on the jet ski. The kayak is a little harder to maneuver but I was on the same kayak as my boyfriend so he helped a lot. I got sea sick while on it so we came back after about an hour and then left. This by far is the friendliest and best run Jet Ski Rental place in the upper Keys! You get a good 15 min ride through the inter coastal before you are set free to the ocean. They do not count the ride out to the ocean as part of your time. You then get another ride back through for 10-15 min when you return. You get your time plus some. They are not rigid on the 60 min timer. We drive an hour and a half to come here and are returning customers! Best price for a fun day in the upper Keys! We came with 7 of our friends and they gave us a jet ski that was broken and said as we were leaving "water gets in the engine but it will be fine" and when we got out the jet ski didn't work at all and warnings were coming up and we ran out of gas in the middle of the ocean. My boyfriends sister was in town and this is what she wanted to do while in town so we took a drive up to key largo to ride some jet skis , found a great deal on groupon for it for one hour and it includes kayaking as well. We couldn't have been happier with this place, the staff was excellent and so informative. They explain everything to you in detail, and if you were born after Jan. 1988 you need to take a test in order to ride them which is great because you are aware of all possibilities are get greater knowledge and what you have to do and all rules and regulations. Make sure you dont leave you ID at home though and bring it with you because they do need a copy of it in order for you to get on the jetski , even if you are not the one driving it. One thing i loved about this place is that they do not count the hour of your time untill you get out on the actual water, and he isnt there to watch or supervise you. You are free on your own for the whole hour, we had a blast and i cant wait to go back! We were way too hungry to stay for the kayaking but i am definitely looking forward to coming back to do the kayaks read more

This has got to be the worse experience I have ever encountered at a jet ski package. We bought a groupon which was not cheap for 1 hour jet ski and kayak. Once we got there you had to pay an extra $30 for a second person, the group on makes it seem like it's for 2 people. That wasn't even a big deal. After driving about 80 miles to get there and enjoy our day. The owner who is a total douche bag had a bad attitude, was not friendly, very rude, kept asking us if we were going to kayak (obviously, that's why we bought the groupon) when we were signing the paperwork he was more worried about people damaging his jet skis than our actual safety. They kept repeating that if we damaged the jet ski every inch would cost $100. They also ask for a deposit up front so if you don't have the money you're out of luck. If I could blog about this place and how royally disgusted I was I would blog on every single review site because this place is a dump and so are the staff. Don't bother spending your hard earned money here, they don't care about you and they are only worried about the jet skis getting damaged... Talk about a stressful adventure. They don't even deserve 1 star!!!!! I've done many jet ski tours and this one takes the cake. Spend the extra money and head over to key west they have great people all over and really care about the people. Oh and when we returned for the kayaks the owner would not let go of us riding the kayaks so we asked for our money back, you know the extra $20 you have to pay per person to ride a kayak. Terrible customer service, overcharged for jet ski that broke down, even though their skis have close to 600 hours(average life span of jet ski is 300h). AVOID THIS BUSINESS. They refused to accept GroupOns for Kayak rental despite the fact that we met the published terms. Groupon agreed with us and refunded the money and said they will investigate the business. We rented 2 jet skis. One broke down while more than a mile offshore. 18 year old running the show did his best to help,but ultimately owner had to come out and tow stalled unit home after several delays. Weird thing is the owner did not acknowledge us when he came out. He only spoke with the highschooler (who deserves kudos for doing his best to help--i hope he finds a more agreeable boss) despite hellos and waves from us. Other concerns included lack of published rates on the website or at their kiosk and last minute warning that any scratches would result in a deduction of $100 per inch of scratch from our deposit. It reminded me of the kind of tourist exploiting culture that is sometimes found in among the Caribbean islands. The experience was also the polar opposite of our experience with Blue Water Scuba--they are great. Look around for an alternative and reward them with your business. We made the mistake of trusting Group On and not checking Yelp or TripAdvisor. read more
