It has no usable free weights--just a few treadmills and a pull-up bar--which is an area that could definitely use improvement. That said, with the variety of facilities on the property and the affordable, nearby condos, this was still a really cool spot overall. I will be returning!

The Knolls is situated on a hillside giving the individual condo units beautiful lake views. There is even main channel lake views from the tennis and basketball courts. Individual Condo Units can be rented through the property owners directly, VBRO, Home Away, or through the Knolls main office. I highly recommend contacting property owners (like Alison N.) directly or using Home Away or VBRO. I have stayed at the Knolls many times and each time I enjoy myself more and more. But my kiddos needed something NORMAL before school started up. We couldn't POSSIBLY cancel our annual summer vacation! This trip we stayed in Lakewood Resort's newest unit, just above the office. Wowza. Jacuzzi, in-unit laundry and a super secluded view of their alcove of the lake. A very nice spot. Our favorite unit. Coming from a college town where tons of protocols are done, a couple things rubbed me the wrong way. But ultimately, I felt safe. If you have kiddos who love outdoor swimming pools, this is the resort to stay at! My four year old has a phobia of not seeing his feet in the lake water. He will choose the 'blue water' over the 'brown water' any day of the week. This pool boasts a lake view. You also have the pool to yourself almost all day everyday since a majority of the folks that stay here go out on the lake each day. Talk about a great socially distanced week full of swimming and family! This was our third stay at this resort. The staff is friendly. The property is well maintained. The location is convenient and near a lot of great spots. There's internet in each unit. There's a lot to enjoy at Lakewood Resort.

It's nothing glamorous but for the price and location to everything; it's worth a try! We originally were going to stay two nights and we loved it so much we decided to stay one more night. Our condo was right on the dock which yes has wear and tear from people using it and fishing it etc. our room was nice and cozy and exactly what we expected. You can also go way out on the dock and go fishing! They even have a dish sink! Outdoor pool and indoor pool are really nice. The receptionists are super friendly too which helped make my check in and skepticism of the place at ease. We will definitely come back here next summer!

This place had no rooms when I called, but they promptly called us back with a double queen, lakeside room, at a very affordable price. Thank you to whoever canceled their reservation!! Now, to say this room was less than "posh" is kind. But it was clean )new flat screen TVs) and you could tell that the NEW MANAGER is really trying to make a difference. It is an older motel with LOTS of stairs. We learned that it is owned by the Grand Glaize, offering the pool, spa, and other amenities of the Glaize, to guests at the Nest. The Nest also has an outdoor pool of its own, but there are 3 flights of stairs to get there. Continental breakfast is on its way up - they've added yogurt, cereal, and juice, and have plans for more. I saw the new manager arrive quickly, after closing, to help a guest who had lost his key card. She stopped a moment to chat with us - very friendly. They get an extra star for friendly. The place isn't perfect or posh, but it's on its way "up", with a manager that seems to care. I expect we will see more good improvements in the future.

They provided the wood for us to use in the fire pit, the deck was large and pretty also. We were to early for the hot tub but otherwise fantastic place to stay, we will be returning.
