A Keyth system was already installed in the house we bought. When we wanted to transfer the service from the previous owner, they sent an ambiguous contract/form to us that required a two-year contract, a $125 or $295 service fee (I couldn't tell from the form), and told us that a technician needed to come out before we could get the system working. But the tech couldn't come out for a long period of time. I emailed them questions about the contract (which were never answered) and told Marianne, the sales representative, verbally that I didn't want to move forward with it because they couldn't send someone out before an upcoming trip. My wife called after our trip and asked if we could try it again. Someone named Jillian mentioned that they may send out a technician on either a Monday or Friday. Without confirming the date, a technician showed up at our house on a Friday and said we had a two-year contract with them. I called Keyth, and they repeated that we had a two-year contract with them. We did not. They then pulled out the technician without trying to work through the contract terms with me or answering any of my questions. During that conversation and my previous conversations, Marianne, the sales representative, was condescending and did not treat me with respect. When I asked why the $295 service fee was necessary to simply turn on our service, she explained, "That's how we make money." She dismissed my concerns, explaining that they don't negotiate the service fee or the contract length. I felt that they knew we already had their technology installed in our house and thus did not care to provide us with good customer service. If you're considering installing a a Keyth system, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Now we're stuck with a system from a company we will never use. If anyone knows a good security company that can repurpose this existing technology, please let me know. read more

They came to our house for an estimate on installation. The guy was rude, very rude, very arrogant. He acted like ti was his house and I was the visitor, unwelcome visitor, at that. He made snide comments about our crawlspace looking messy (you know because we actually use it for storage, duh) when he went into it to take a look at some of the equipment. He actually even, imo conducted a form of industrial/commercial espionage, as he took a picture of our equipment without asking. I would not recommend this company if your installing a system in your home. It was expensive to install which I was ok with but when their own equipment malfunctions, they charge ridiculous prices just to come out and take a look at was is wrong. Having been a customer of Keyth for roughly 17 years, 3 houses and a commercial property. Ive now moved on, and boy did I make the right decision. My remaining commercial property has had a bad motion sensor for 2 years and all they do is replace the batteries. It's not a low battery issue, the other sensors give low battery warnings. Now they don't show up for more than an hour after the window that THEY GAVE! I wish I could have the monitoring company call them in the middle of the night !!! Hey Keith, maybe spend less time on stupid superhero wraps, and more time attending to your loyal customers!! In response to Keith...your technicians had replaced the battery several times, it OBVIOUSLY was not the problem. Your technician was not just an hour late. He would have NEVER SHOWED UP! Comparing yourself to Comcast, etc, shows that your company is ok with mediocre service because "it's the norm" I LOVE that you do charitable things, but doing them at the expense of quality customer service is an issue, and that was my point. I recently bought a new single family home in a Chicago neighborhood that isn't as established as Lincoln Park, Lakeview, or Northcenter, or certainly any of the north shore suburbs. It's a huge house that my fiance will be working from home in, and it will hopefully be the home of future children. The security of my new family is extremely important, as is my piece of mind. I have heard that Keyth was the best, so I called them up to ask for a consultation and for a change of the locks. I somehow get transferred to Keith Fisher, the owner of the company, who asks me a number of questions about my family situation, who's in the house, etc. (seemed like small talk), and he scheduled the locksmith. On the day of my move, a keyth truck pulled up and changed the locks as scheduled, great service; no issues. I figured that would be the end of it until a subsequential meeting was scheduled. Not so. A few minutes later, in walks Keith Fisher, the owner of the company. Keyth is a big company, and this was a Saturday. He told me that it was important to him that my new family gets off to a secure start so he wanted to personally be involved in my home. It was a Saturday...I believed it to be sincere and I do to this day. He personally walked through every aspect of the house, showed me each of the vulnerabilities my house had, and presented the optimal security program that protected my needs. It included ulterior lighting plans in my garage and yard, smartphone compatability, re-enforced door locks, glass shattering detectors on the windows, and he explained best practices of how i should enter and exit my home. I had him proceed with everything he recommended. It was extremely valuable and I can honestly claim that my house is now virtually inpenetrable, and as secure as possible. Talk about piece of mind! I feel like the price was fair, and he offered flexible payment terms. This type of service cannot be replicated by Comcast or AT&T. The experience really opened my eyes to the fact that each home is different and your home is not secure just because you slapped a system in it that you saw on TV. These guys are the best. They wanted $1800 to tie in my alarm system to the central station. Said it would take long hours, require new equipment and leave a hole in the wall. Another company, DMC Security of Midlothian, set it up in two hours. No new equipment. No Holes in the wall. $125 total. So glad I shopped around. read more

I had other locksmiths come out who were unable to fix the problem given the mortise lock set. Keyth is the very best in the industry; they are professional, reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy - in regard to everything from the system design and installation through the alarm monitoring. After ADT disconnected my system during the sales process and then did a bait and switch on price, they were unable/unwilling to put back the system to the way it was. What matters is what they actually do once in your home, the quality of service, cleanliness of work, accuracy, and then a fair final price. Their response to alarms is above and beyond the rest, their equipment is cutting edge, the service techs are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, clean and courteous, the scheduling is fast and flexible. I just got off the phone with Keyth. A salesman got on the phone and told me $1200 was not very much for an installation. He told me he needs money to feed his kids, they need a design team, the systems cost money. Rather then offering to come my house to give me an estimate he was justifying his price. Hello, We installed your system in our previous home, and have found ourselves with an ADT system in our present home. After several experiences which would never have developed with Keyth, we cannot take it anymore. After FOUR, (4), service calls about our system going haywire today, we were pushed into off-hours. Now we are faced with waiting up until past 10pm for the pleasure of paying the $300.00 plus emergency service charge. We have had the alarm go off every five to fifteen minutes since 11:30 am. The woman on the other line, after our fourth call, said, "I don't understand why it won't shut off after you removed the battery." (Perhaps because it is hardwired--the battery is only a backup. ) This is the kind of game they played, and now it is after hours. What would we need to do to change our system over to Keyth? We cannot wait to get back into the Keyth fold! read more

If you like being woken up in the middle of the night occasionally by blaring alarms and the fire department knocking on your door, then this is the company for you. Pay $350 a year for the tsp service on top of your monitoring fee and they will check your entire system, change batteries and still scare the crap out of you with false alarms a few times a year. We've used Keyth over the course of 5+ years. Around the time that we were selling our condo, the unit battery was running low which led to countless calls from Keyth to schedule a replacement. We told them we were moving and that was the reason we had delayed replacement. They suggested that we have it replaced so as not to sell a unit that needed to be fixed (at a charge of $135). A month later we call to terminate service and they let us know that they will be taking the radio that we just paid to have the battery replaced in. Very misleading... read more

I have been a client for over 10 years. I use them at my home and office with very different installation requirements. This firm is extremely professional, responsive and tech savvy. You can always get someone on the phone quickly, they are well trained staff and most have been there for a long time which is reassuring. If you have an issue at night or weekends, don't worry, they are easy to reach. The people I work with are also fast to respond by e-mail for something not urgent. We use them at my home and office for various things including security systems, cameras, intercom/door, media/TV, temperature, water and more. We have also used their locksmith division. The quality of their work is top notch. Over 10 years ago I used another firm for a few years and had issues all the time. You get what you pay for is the expression.
