Great start with these guys. Good product, solid installation. However, when we had damage to the bottom panel of our $8K fancy door after less than a year (our fault), we were told we needed to replace 3 panels or the whole door to make it match. The price to buy the panel ourselves was more costly than us purchasing it from them and having them do the repair - which they noted might not match. Giant red flag. They also blocked 2 other companies we contacted for repair from being able to buy the repair parts (quoted full door price). Our fault on the damage, but was bummed that we got nowhere with their customer service regarding repair. They're in the door manufacturing business, not the distribution/installation business. We found a local guy to fix our door as best he could ($250 bucks). We'll never use them again. read more

Raynor employees installed a new garage door today at my residence 5600 Lincoln Ave. Morton Grove at Lotus Condos. I had a 1pm appointment. Found I could not exit the garage due to replacement of the door. Couldn't exit other door due to low clearance of the water pipes. Workers said they would be done within 30 to 45 min. I rescheduled my appointment to 3:30. At 3pm discovered work was still not completed as promised. I asked if they could move ladders and truck to let me exit. I expressed my anger since I re-scheduled once already. This prompted the response: "Now I'll really move slowly." They be--grudgingly complied. I was late for my appointment and barely made my deadline. I was upset, but professional courtesy was sorely lacking. read more

Called and was told that to fix the spring on my garage door that it is a flat labor rate and I would just pay for the cost of the springs-which started at $600 for a pair for the smallest size. I decided to call around and thankfully looked online to see that there are no springs that cost that much for a pair and I was lied to about how much they cost.. Texts from my neighbors: "Beautiful garage doors!" I whole-heartedly agree! I am very pleased with my dealings with Raynor. Being a real estate professional and attorney, I am highly detailed and make decisions based on analyzing all of the information and comparing estimates and quality from other contractors. It took me a few months to come to the decision to choose Raynor and choose the doors I chose, and Daniel and Brian were very patient with me and educated me throughout the entire process. The doors I chose were high quality with a life-time surface rust warranty (versus rust-through warranty of the other competitors), wood tone color that no owners have reported as fading, and a life-time warranty on the springs. (It should be mentioned that after the initial labor warranty period expires, I will need to pay for the labor for any materials warranty claims, and I will report on the fairness of those costs and the actual services in a follow-up review if and when that time comes). Additionally, the installers (Jeff and Devein - sp?) were on time and left me with the beautiful garage doors my neighbors are complimenting although I have some water coming into my garage in one area near to the doors. I reported the water issue a couple of days ago and Raynor is already scheduled tomorrow to make the weather seal or any other fixes. These are just some of the reasons we chose Raynor over competitors: the quality and beauty of their doors, their warranties, their patience and attention to the customer, and the responsiveness and skills of the employees. Final footnote: We did not buy our garage door lifts from Raynor as ours are still in great working order. I was surprised to read some of the poor reviews but it appears they are more re: lift masters and repairs. I hope to use Raynor for all of my garage door needs and I hope that they prove the reviews wrong if/when I may need repairs and/or new lifts. read more

My garage door fell, destroying the track. I have used Raynor Northfield before and was very happy with the service. This time it was even better! Wayne came out in less than 2 hours. I thought I would need a whole new door and track. But Wayne fixed it all in about an hour. It even works better than it did before it broke. The price was much lower than expected as well. You lost me as a customer over a Liftmaster belt that you said they didn't make and have to buy a whole new Liftmaster system for $700. I called them. Their response was if find one we will give a call. Not gonna happen. I found out I could get the belt from Liftmaster for free and hired garage door corporation in Skokie to install for $105. Liftmaster products have lifetime warranty people. Watch out for Raynor they tried to pull a quick one on us. read more

A few weeks ago, we found that our garage door opens right after closing, so we called Raynor for a fix as they installed the garage door and operator back in 2020. The technician spent 2 hours identifying that the issue was a damaged sensor wire, the issue was solved by installing a new pair of sensor and costs us $300. Now after just a few weeks, the SAME issue happens again, in addition, the door opens too high and hit the stopper bolt. Yes, we tried setting the travel limit, and it didn't work. This has been a frustrating experience, and we are surprised by Raynor's incompetence. read more

I've been using Raynor for over 12 years. Always been satisfied, except in the last few weeks. I've been trying to get someone from their parts/tech division to speak to over the phone to help me with a password problem on my outside panel. I've left several voice messages and have also spoken to the receptionist a few times. I was always promised that someone would call me back, but no one has. Not once. This has been going on now for more than three weeks. This morning I called asking to speak to the service manager so I could complain. I was told she wasn't available, so my name and number were taken, but (so far) no one has called me back. This is very unprofessional service. If they were busy (for three weeks?!?), someone should have at least called me back to tell me that. Very disappointing. read more

Once arrival he informed us that that he could not do any work on our garage because it was outdated. We have been using Raynor Door Company for years. They installed our garage doors many years ago and have been servicing them ever since. First let me say that I love the style of our doors. Of course I did pick them out. That said, Raynor worked with me so we could get the just the look we were hoping for. Since then the service issues we've had are with the openers. They are always super responsive to our service calls and even try to give us suggestions to try to correct the problem ourselves before they come out. When they do have to service the doors the service people are always well trained, courteous and knowledgeable. read more

Good service, fast response, on time, knowledgeable tech. They service the multiple garages at my work. Went to them when I needed maintenance on my garage and also a new remote. The tech came, told me the good and bad, my motor still had life but was just a little slow, loud and old. He tuned it up, greased all the belts, chains and hinges and programed a new remote for me. Even did my car too! Garage hums quiet now and no more squeaky crooked door. Should have done this sooner. Referred them to a friend when their motor died. They serviced him that night, and put in an new opener much smoother and quieter than mine. Highly recommend! read more

We went to Raynor for our new construction project because of their reputation for quality. The door itself might be ok, but the communication and service has been horrible. We signed off on initial drawings, understanding that the installer would ensure a good fit. The installer came out and checked the site multiple timed as the building progressed, indicating that everything was fine and that no revisions were needed. The day before the actual installation though, we were told we need to cut our foundation to accommodate the door. Had we known this when the cement contractor was working for us, we would've taken care of it. Instead Raynor insisted it was our responsibility and we were out $200 for the tool we needed to rent. When they installed the door, we discovered that they made it too big for our opening. The weatherstripping, once in place, would rub against the top window. The reveal at the top now looks crowded and if the weather stripping were in place, it would damage the garage window over time. Their proposed solution was to suggest an inferior weatherstripping mounted on the doors interior to jury rig the problem. Since then, we haven't had a solution... I am very disappointed. Update: Raynor did eventually credit us for the $200 footing expense, but nothing was done to remediate the door size. We ended up settling for the weather stripping on the inside as we had no choice. Hopefully there won't be long term consequences.... read more

Twice our garage broke on a weekend. Both times Raynor showed up and solved our problem. The first time it was a $400 service call for a Sunday (seemed high) but our cars were trapped and I had to leave very early on Monday. In any case, the guy showed up, was very professional and repaired the garage. Recently, we had another issue. Of course it was on a Saturday. They charged less than the $400 (I think because we already had paid that before), but they showed up on time and again, solved the problem. Raynor fixed a garage door that would not open and where the garage door itself was the only point of entry. After getting it opened, we decided to replace the 20-year-old door lift mechanism with a new unit, complete with keypad. Our tech, Richard, was polite, knowledgeable, and informational, and unfortunately had to work in less than optimum conditions as the garage was a small, poorly lit space. He did his job well and efficiently. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze and the office staff were polite and efficient as well. All around good experience. read more

I am very disappointed in the office staff. Customer service is lacking there. Technicians are very handy, not much communication from them, they just show up and do the job. We were sold a new opener and and a new eye and have had problems with them since they were installed. We are a Senior Community so it causes undue stress on my Residents and when I call the office. I received resistance to offer services. Payment was held until doors were operational. Finally they worked for 3 weeks straight so payment was sent. Door quit working and called and they said they call us back but said because we have a past due invoices not sure when. Ps. payment has been sent 8/27. read more

Uh-oh. Side cable on our garage door snapped. Door wouldn't open or close and was pretty crooked. I called Raynor midday on Tuesday and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Representative on the phone explained it would be about $140 for the service call and then probably another $20 worth of cable to repair. On Wednesday, Ryan the technician called to say he was running ahead of schedule and could fit me in earlier than estimated. Great! He also called when he arrived. Ryan was helpful and courteous. He replaced the cable on both sides and lubed and conditioned all the parts. The best part was that the final price-- $163-- matched what Raynor had told me over the phone the day before. So happy to have a working garage door again. I would definitely recommend this company if you're in the same boat. read more

The sales guy never showed up because "he forgot to put the appointment in his schedule" so I gave him another chance and rebooked but he didn't show up the second time neither. Please buy elsewhere! When they installed our $4,300 garage door this past summer, the 3 panels were different shades of brown. I called salesperson who insisted that installation be completed & said panels will match when washed. They did not match. Then they said it must be shade of the sun and the shadows. Was not! We sent photos. Then we were told Haas mfr. will do nothing as this has never happened before. Thank God I had not paid final paymt. which was half of total, so I had some recourse & got it replaced weeks later. Otherwise they would not have done anything about it & it looked awful. A month ago, door came off of track with a huge bang & damaged rail and pushed inside lower panel inward and buckled it. They insist that we hit the door! We absolutely did not!! They came out to inspect and said installation was perfect and THIS DOOR WAS HIT! I replied check my car for any damage & I would have had to scrape my car if I hit the garage door immediately next to the track. If we had done this damage, we would have owned up to it, we are not liars! Today I received a call declining all warranty. Unbelievable, but did not expect anything else, considering that the only reason they replaced mismatched panels is because I said I would not pay the rest and use the money to have panels painted to match instead. Go to another dealer & do not buy a Haas garage door. Both have no idea what customer service means. read more

Our garage door developed the nasty habit of going up on its own. We contacted Raynor Door with whom we've done business for about 20 years. The tech was booked that day, but came out the next day, as promised, and determined that most likely when we were pairing the garage door opener to our new car, a nearby opener was being used and our opener picked up that code. He de-programmed and re-programmed everything and fixed our problem. We have found the employees to be polite, knowledgeable , and dependable. I don't know how Raynor stays in business. It took them 3 months to get me a quote, which was outrageously priced so I asked for a revision using less expensive materials and they never got it to me. I called and emailed probably 6 times and they kept saying they would get it to me and they never did. I left a message for the CEO, who then had a different salesman contact me. That salesman swore up and down that he would take care of it and get me a quote that week but two calls and two months later I still have not received one. read more

Called Raynor twice to fix an issue with my garage door. First time, they were hesitant to replace the operator since it appeared to be okay after adjusting the limits, which I appreciated their concern to save me $. After a few days, the garage went back to it's original issue and called Raynor again to replace the operator. The service guy was extremely friendly and hard-working. They didn't charge a service call the 2nd time and went above and beyond to adjust a couple more issues with the door the service guy noticed.
