7pm thursday night. They have to know that this is the busy time of day for them. I walk in to order because the drive thru has messed up my order before. I ask for a pot pie. The girl goes to back and asks how long it would take, she informs me 20 minutes. I said nevermind I will order hot wings, she goes to back, returns and said 10 minutes. The place smells bad and the napkin dispenser was empty, no straws, one lid for medium drinks left but I wasnt comfortable touching it. Step it up CV KFC. I came here on a Tuesday after seeing "Brown Bag Tuesdays" $1.99 for any 2 piece and a biscuit. I only needed something small and was pleasantly surprised by the crowd. Lots of families were there = good quality food. The workers were nice, they moved the line fast, and despite the 20 people waiting I got my brown bag dinner quickly. The food was warm and the biscuit was actually one of the freshest and softest I've had at KFC. I've had dry, old ones before. This one was not. 4 stars for this KFC franchise! read more

An hour ago(6:00 pm) purchased 12 piece bucket + extras = $46 for a houseful of grandchildren that LOVE KFC. The chicken was way, way overcooked and dry. Did not taste fresh. The chicken fingers/nuggets were so dry that one (hungry) child gnawed on it and the others just refused to eat. The biscuits were dry and hard and the gravy was watered to the point of being a broth. I think I got the left overs that didn't sell to the lunch crowd and sat under hot lamps FOR HOURS! Have tried 2x to call to complain and after 15 rings gave up both times. Will NEVER GO TO KFC again, or recommend them to other friends who ask for recommendations for their grandchildren. can't go lower than 1 star. First time at this KFC and the last time. Ordered an 8 piece original bucket with mash potatoes and slaw. Was given the wrong order what we received was 4 pc original / 4 pc grilled, and 4 boxes wedges. Was told they were out of slaw and mashed potatoes. Of course we had gone threw the drive threw. Usually go to this KFC for a quick chicken fix. Chicken is good but service takes a while, especially if you opted for the drive-thru. One time i waited for a good 25 minutes just to get to the window! Ordered a kids meal for my daughter, got home and found only popcorn chicken - no side, no drink! This was after i repeated the order at the window and clarified what they listed on the screen. Called the store to alert the manager that who ever was working the drive-thru needs to "wake-up". read more

I visited this store yesterday afternoon, just wanted a bucket of chicken, first off, the dining area was a pig sty, 2 young men were visiting in the back and it took them awhile to notice I was even there. Took the bucket of chicken home and it was the worst looking and driest chicken I have ever had!! It was so dry my cats wouldn't touch it! I always try to frequent my local restaurants first, but be warned, this restaurant is in need of a complete overhaul.. Never again!! read more

A horrible experience with the staff that worked at the drive through. We arrived 15 minutes before closing, and they didn't have the stock to fulfil our requested order. Would not have been a problem, until they tried to charge us extra for the only cuts of chicken they did have. We made our point that this was their shortcoming and that we should not be charged for it. When we got home we discovered they decided to make their point by dishonestly short-changing us on a few items from our order that we had paid for and were never given. Avoid at all costs, the staff is rude and dishonest. I hope that management is able to retrain their staff, given it hurts the KFC brand. read more

Best KFC chicken in Hayward Fremont area. Perfect flavor. Others are either very salty or very greasy even for fried chicken.

I arrived inside of the restaurant at around 6 pm on Super Bowl Sunday. The drive through crew can't seem to get any order right, so going inside was the option. I was promptly informed (upon ordering) that there was no crispy chicken of any kind and that there were no pot pies. Wow! on Super Bowl Sunday with about 5 people inside of the restaurant! After waiting 15 minutes, I left with 2 greasy original breasts. (see photo of the box and bag!) The owner and the management need to have a heart to heart. There is NO excuse for the lousy food. The only reason that I have given one star is that the young lady at the counter was very sweet and helpful. (She was frustrated also!) I have lived near this KFC for nearly 10 years. Obviously this store has had the same owner for that amount of time due to the service and bad food served during that time. This was the last straw. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I came to this KFC once in a long while but over the years not much has changed. The cashiers are basically polite. The tables are topped with bread crumbs left over by customers. One quiet day I walked in and order an eat-in. I was the only customer in the restaurant and almost all the table albeit available looked so disgustingly dirty I almost threw up, I eat at fast food fried chicken place around the bay area so I know this place is not without hope. It is the management that destroyed this place. Come on Castro Valley, shape up ! bring in more competitions. We are much better off today comparing when the rednecks rule this town. I love this CV place because the way they make there cole slaw is the best. I don't eat the chicken that much because it's to fattening. I use to love the chicken pot pies but no more because there are way to many calories. So I drive thru just to get there amazing yummy cole slaw! It's the best at CV others aren't as good! read more

I am not the kind that likes doing bad reviews, but the guy at this place WAS so RUDE and had to make sure that I was very aware that I ordered my food wrong and that the reason my order was wrong was because of me. I DID NOT GO INSIDE THIS PLACE TO PLAY BLAME GAME. After going thru the drive thru I did not get a receipt and I needed to see where the mistake was made. So I came inside to fix it and this guy came at ME so very wrong. It was not a money problem I just wanted to get the food that I intentionally wanted to order. Perhaps I should have looked at the many single star reviews and listened, but given my time constraints, this was where I ended up. Now as for what happened, I came here and was greeted nicely and had my order placed efficiently.. pretty good so far isn't it? Didn't receive a receipt but some institutions give it to you later so I wasn't concerned. That was my bad. Was told that the chicken would take 10-20 min to be ready since they were making a fresh batch.. okay. Bad timing on me. Waited 30min+,... noticed other patrons who showed up after me walking away with orders right away. Hmmm.. maybe I should ask. Turns out my order was lost without any explanation. The only reason for me to go to KFC is the grilled chicken. Yes it is oversalted and doused with msg but it is tasty and not too expensive. Problem is the Castro Valley KFC stops making grilled chicken long before they close. Friday night at 9 there was none.Not the first time either. This review concerns the drive-thru. I've been going to this KFC for the last 8 years and I've had minor problems like the occasional clueless employee or a missing chicken piece in my order (usually the 3 piece breast and wing, chicken only.) But when I complained about the issue, it is always to my satisfaction and won't prevent me from coming back. Current staff is good and the manager, that I have currently dealt with, Will has always courteously dealt with my concerns. Food has always been good. Though if you get there close to closing time (say half-hour before) be prepared to have a possible shortage of the certain type of chicken you'r looking for (i.e. for me the original recipe). read more

I would not recommend anyone to use this KFC. The times i went to there drive thru the chicken bread comes off before we get home so we end up with a box of grease and chicken bread all at the bottom of the box because it was so hot it all just steamed off in the box. Went to KFC here on the Blvd......first I must say...for a meal here you can go to Applebees and feed your family a decent meal for 40.00.....asked for the twelve piece meal and was told they had to replace some of the chicken with wings....counted them when i got back to my office and found 6 wings in my 12 piece s of chicken.....then they just gave me whatever sides they thought they could...didnt even ask me what i wanted. I wish I had read the reviews before going to this KFC. My experience with the customer service was similar to other Yelpers. As soon as I walked in, I noticed this was one of smaller KFCs I've been to. That didn't really matter because I was not planning to dine-in. There wasn't a line to order so I immediately walked up to the cashier. I asked some questions about the menu and I discovered that the cashier wasn't particularly friendly and seemed bothered that I had questions. After ordering the 8 piece meal I stepped aside to wait for my order and noticed at least three employees standing around. None of them started to work on my order. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. The cashier was now assisting the customer that was in line after me. There wasn't anyone at the drive thru window so I couldn't understand why no one besides the cashier appeared to be working. At that moment, I wished I had gone through drive-thru instead because maybe that would have been faster. If not faster, I could have at least been in the comforts of my car rather than becoming increasingly frustrated that I was watching employees not working After the cashier finished up with the customer, she started to fill an order. That's when I noticed another employee finally start to work on filling an order too. Meanwhile the line of customers waiting to order had grown because the cashier was filling an order instead of taking orders. If you are in a rush, do not go to this KFC. read more
