KFC at 1516 Teasley Ln, Denton, TX 76205 I do want to give a shout out to the cashier "Ms. Mynor" because this is who this review is about below. First I'd like to start this review off by saying everyone has a bad day every now and then. I have purchased food at this KFC multiple times in the last couple months and what I've always noticed is they were pretty fast with their service. Also I noticed there is somewhat of a language barrier cuz it seems a lot of people speak Spanish as their primary language and English may not be their first language. That being said I've always been treated friendly and kind and appreciate it as a customer. Today there was a lady in front of me and she was having a bad day. She was not getting the service that she felt like she needed and wanted to express her feelings to the corporate office. At the same time she was trying to run off the customers that were in the building and I felt the staff held their composure very well and did not get disrespectful towards the customer at least while I was there and the lady left the building right before I ordered my food. I placed my order and got service that I needed without any problem or any anger from the employee who had already been in the situation before time. This gets a kudos from me because a lot of people might have had an issue with how the other customer was talking to them and they held their composure very well. I truly appreciate this type of customer service. Because if they had done anything negative I may have never come back to this KFC again and might have been discouraged from going to another KFC and not eating this delicious chicken . Also the new potato wedges are back and they are way better than they were before and they were fantastic before. This is the main reason I was there today . I love the potato wedges and I love their coleslaw . So getting to the food part of the review. It is KFC you're going to get what you're going to get because it's KFC but they do have some phenomenal deals as of 2025 and that's probably one of the reasons I'm back eating at KFC. It's a KFC! What can I say? I think I should try a review since fast food places tend to have their normal experiences overlooked but bad experiences are often what you hear about. I haven't been to this particular KFC in several years because my previous experiences were not very good. I remember the place being unclean and often out of product and customer service was lacking. I went back today to give their grilled chicken a try. I was greeted by an employee when I walked in and she was very helpful and patient throughout my ordering process. I asked a few questions as I was unfamiliar with the menu choices (combo VS meal vs 'fill-up' etc) and she patiently explained it all. You order and pay at the counter, help yourself to the beverages, and take a seat. They call your number when your food is ready at the counter. I was happy to see that the dining area was bright and clean and they had a TV for customers to watch. They have a large dining area with big windows which gave the room a nice comfortable feeling. There are tables and booths of various sizes. I ordered a few grilled chicken meals. One meal came with a grilled leg & thigh with a side of mashed potatoes, biscuit, and a cookie. The potatoes were decent but the only flavor was from the gravy. The biscuit was good and warm. The second meal was a grilled breast, thigh, corn, green beans, and a biscuit. The corn and green beans were pretty good. The grilled chicken was impressive. I always think of KFC as being soggy, salty, and greasy but this chicken is basically like roasted/baked chicken where the skin falls right off leaving clean, moist chicken on the bone. The skin had great flavor with that typical KFC herbs and spices mix but I didn't eat too much of the skin. The chicken meat itself was moist and had good flavor. I've had better roasted bone-in chicken from other restaurants but for KFC being a straight-up fast food operation this was some great chicken especially considering the value. Word of caution: they had a limited amount of grilled chicken ready to be served so keep that in mind if you are planning a larger order. Overall, I do recommend KFC if you are craving some un-fried bone-in chicken. read more

12/03/24 5:00 pm KFC store on University (US 380) In Denton. Very poor quality service and a filthy environment. On this particular day the entire staff seemed to be students including the "manager' Viola. I walked in being that the drive thru line was very long and ordered a 16 pc. meal all dark with sides. I was informed matter-of-factly that they were out of dark meat and the only thing available was white meat, Like I was supposed to just choose from what they had available. They also told me they were out of mashed potatoes, corn, and only had four biscuits left. They also flatly stated it would take 30 minutes to cook more chicken, like this was a REAL bother. It seemed they would have been happier if I would just have left and taken my business elsewhere, and I was VERY tempted to do so. I decided I came for chicken, and I would wait. During my 45 minute endeavor to get my chicken, I noticed several angry customers come in, then leave in frustration. Viola seemed to try and marshal the troops but the crew was not impressed. This store recently re-opened it's doors and you would think someone accountable and concerned about customer service, and ensuring that during an obviously busy time of day food would be prepared would be on location. I hadn't been to this location in a long while, they have really improved the customer service. We ended up getting the bucket meal, they let you mix any combination of thigh, wings and breasts that you want. We don't like their mashed potatoes but they said they had potatoe wedges that we got instead and those were awesome! read more

Down side is they close early before 10:30. Bathroom, seating area and landscaping remains clean despite the time of day. The staff greets you upon entry and if busy in the drive thru they apologize for any wait. Most of the staff is bilingual and I find that pretty helpful to people not fluent in english. All this as I watched two employees taking a cigarette break right at the front door because the lobby was closed! I will never try this place again! I have been here twice, and neither time was a good experience. The food was mediocre, the restaurant was filthy, the chairs and tables were sticky, and the bathrooms had no soap. They got my order wrong both times, too. However, that can be forgiven. I understand that mistakes are made and sometimes you get mess blindness and you don't see how dirty the place is. This is absolutely the most incompetent KFC I have ever been to in my life. It isn't just the workers, it is management. The workers are a direct reflection of this. I stood at the counter for a full 5 minutes and nobody would come to the counter. They were there (approx. 4 people were working) laughing, talking and ignoring me at the counter.
