Okay so I haven't had KFC since Manchester, England years ago and I vowed never to eat THAT again. However here we are, Covid 2020, feeling slightly vulnerable not knowing what is safe to eat at and a long way from home. We are in Franklin a few times a year and found ourselves here at the last minute right in the middle of the Covid craziness. I know, you are thinking, "and you chose FAST FOOD"? Well yeah, and lemme tell ya why. I was starvin, and quite frankly, over the b.s. As I gingerly ordered thru the drive thru and pulled up to the window I saw that EVERY ONE had a mask on. That was super comforting. Take the food back to our cottage and as my husband chowed down on his Bojangles, I inhaled the familiar KFC chicken smell of goodness. I ordered the two piece chicken dinner with mash and a biscuit. Friggin delicious! Oh I enjoyed that. Every single solitary piece of chicken was tender and oh so seasoned right. Not greasy (like the crap I had back in England) but fried perfectly. Even the mash n gravy was good - you know I dipped my honey drenched chicken in them! Go try this KFC. 4:59PM I placed an on-line order using the KFC app. That order was not filled until 5:41PM. I went inside right after placing the order. On two occasions I've had to wait on staff to give me my order that I've observed sitting on a back counter for a period of time. I had to ask both times if that was my order. I didn't want to go thru that hassle again tonight so I went right in. I observed minimal staffing and two trainees. Despite my order being submitted at 4:59, I watched numerous drive thru customers get their orders filled while mine was given lower priority. One employee kept running past me to carry out orders to waiting vehicles saying they were short staffed but doing the best they could. I asked who appeared to be a shift manager who gets priority and she told me the drive thru orders. The whole time I stood at the counter watching this, customers were coming in and placing their own orders (which were also filled before mine). I understand employees not showing up for work and being short staffed. I also think the manager should then adjust work flow that staffing can accommodate instead of making those with on-line orders wait an hour. One customer was a DoorDash deliverer who also had to wait alongside me while drive thru customers were served. I had to demand to speak to someone about how long my order was taking and the prioritization of drive thru customers. Once that happened my order was finally filled but then I was informed they had no biscuits left for my order. To top it off, when I finally got home, my potatoes lacked gravy and the chicken tenders were dried out from sitting too long in the warming oven. It seems to me that management should have made adjustments due to the short staffing. As a minimum, a sign should have be posted to prevent walk ins. I also don't understand prioritization of drive thru customers. I shouldn't have to stand for nearly an hour at the counter watching numerous cars go thru the drive thru getting their orders filled. read more

So I went in on Wednesday 10/1 around 6:30 pm. There were about 3 parties ahead of me, and truthfully they were all pretty rude, but the girl behind the counter handled them with patience and respect, and she acted like a total professional. I wish I had gotten her name, but I've seen her there a few times and she's always done a great job. One of the other parties complained about some of the food and he was yelling at her to the point where I almost said something, but she handled it perfectly, and by the end of it he was laughing and joking with her. She handled the rush great, she handled everyone's bad attitudes really well, and she greeted every customer with a smile whether she was bringing out food, cleaning the lobby, or mopping the floor. She never got flustered, her confidence never wavered, and I was genuinely impressed. I've worked in food service for many years, and I know how thankless of a job it is, and how customers often teach you like you're less than human. Truthfully though I'm giving this 4 stars and not 5 because the food was honestly not the freshest. Normally I just wouldn't leave a review, but that girl's customer service genuinely impressed me and couldn't go unnoticed, so whoever you are, thank you for making me feel welcomed every time I go in there, and whoever is paying her, needs to find a way to pay her more if you want to keep her because a lot of other places would love to have her. Customers should not have to ask for plates, utensiles or napkins. The customer should not have to ask for anything. It is the responsibility of this business to ask if the customer needs those items. Now, let's add the hateful message I have saved from the manager that muthed off for me. You'll be hearing from the BBB shortly. Next time you mouth off at a customer like the recorded message I have saved, know the consequences. We spent nearly $100 on our order to get the worst service and rudeness. You should be ashamed of yourselves for being to lazy to do your jobs and ask what the customer needs. I really wanted to give this location five stars compared to other KFC's but at the end of the day it is still a KFC after all. The location that is a half mile from my house in Buford Georgia is terrible. We have tried it a couple times and the food there is not even worth consuming and my dogs wouldn't even eat it. We were here on vacation and wanted to get something quick and reasonable for the family to have the first night. The food was hot and fresh and did not disappoint at all. They should share their secret with other locations because they have got their act together here. read more

It has been a long time since we ate at a fast food restaurant and now I remember why. In a hurry to get home we stopped at a KFC to pick up a sandwich. In the drive thru we waited and waited, at least 5 minutes for the order taker to get back to us. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich combo. The sandwich consisted of a piece of chicken, hot sauce and a bun and the fries must have been cooked in the morning and been sitting for hours. I doubt we will ever stop at KFC again. read more

It's Just KFC. I've eaten here a few times over the years and this location is above par for KFC. It isn't gourmet food but this store seems to really make an effort to please. Fast food and fried chicken are a sub-genre of restaurants, so enjoy without guilt, if you can. read more

After a previous bad experience at this restaurant, I called to complain. The store manager was kind enough to make a generous offer to assure my satisfaction. Because this store is more than a a half-hour's drive from my home the offer was good for two future visits. I took advantage of one offer on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. It was a memorable visit and could have lured me to travel to Franklin more often, even when I would be responsible for the bill. But that's where the good will ended! I stopped in the store today to redeem my final offer and also pick up some extra food following some shopping. When the manager/assistant came out of the office with her notebook, she told me first that I had already used both offers. When I denied having done so, she told me that she had waited on me when I redeemed the first one and that she was considering reneging on the second offer because my family had left such a mess behind on our last visit. She specifically stated that "all eight" of us had left drink cups and food all over the table and left our trash behind. When I tried to correct her, saying we didn't have that many in our group, she said , "well however many it was, you all left your trash behind." When I protested again, she said she had cleaned it up herself. I have very specific memories of this visit and we were certainly not guilty of the behavior she accused us of. We took with us all the leftover food; all got refills on our drinks and carried them out to my truck; my daughter stacked up the dirty plates and napkins, and I personally carried them to the trash. I found that employee's behavior today to be highly offensive - to the point that I told her to remember my face, because she would never see it in that business again. I have relayed this experience to my family members and all were shocked to hear of the accusations against us. So, as soon as I find out the name of the franchise operator, I will also notify them of this unbelievable treatment and my vow to avoid this restaurant forever. In fact, I will extend this boycott to any and all properties of this franchise corporation. KFC has lost a family of customers for life. read more

After waiting 20 minutes for my order I decided that I would get a refund after I heard one of the crew leaders tell a customer in the Drive-Thru "we are hiring if you want to come in and help you're more than welcome to". Today was a stark reminder of why I do not eat at the KFC in Franklin, North Carolina and will never make this mistake again. read more

Waited 40 minutes for 2 kids meals and a 5.00 meal and a kibbler sandwich after 30 minutes of waiting in the car walked in to ask for my money back but they said sorry and it was coming up so I waited due to the kids had wanted KFC...after math sandwich cold and missing kibbler probably will never be back to this place. read more

I stopped in recently to get a club style chicken sandwich and the cashier was busy socializing with a fellow staff member. While i waited for them to conclude their conversation i did look around and did notice that the Steam Table was gone. The lobby area looks huge, ugly and bare. I did question the cashier when they did notice that I had not approached the counter. I did talk with the cashier about my hope of a sandwich and the bun she did show me was a small hamburger bun. Not what I wanted. I proceeded to try and find something on the menu and as I did speak with the cashier again, it became clear she had no idea of the product she was supposed to be selling to the customer. All I did purchase was a container of Cole slaw. Would I suggest that anyone go there? No. I found the staff to be improperly trained and the behavior was extremely juvenile. But for their age range, in a different setting it is expected. That shopping center has ceased to function and the new owners have made no plans for anything yet so for me there is no reason to go here at all. I remember when I did meet the Original Colonel Sanders when the old store was on Main Street. He was a true genteel man and a nicer person you would ever meet. If he were to see how his dream was trashed and abused by the current management, he would shake his head in wonderment then get mad as hell and fire everyone. We go to a Auction every Saturday right down the road from this KFC and want to eat there - always about 4:45. For the last few months there is never any Chicken ready - they say a 20 to 30 minute wait. Does the Manager not know when the Chicken is getting low ( or if she even looks to see ) - especially at Supper time - they need to put more on. In the last 3 months - we have had to go other places to eat at least 5 times. We are not the only ones. We have seen a lot of people walk out and the Manager - Autum does not seem to care. This place needs new management. read more

The worst, until corporate steps in to fix this place, don't bother!! 45 mins to get my food, and then it still wasn't right. This is not the first time for that. On the other hand, at least, pretty much for the first time, they had everything that I ordered as that about unheard of between 5 and 7 you know, dinner time! read more
