This place is ridiculous! Service,management, and unprofessional staff. The lady working behind the counter thought it was funny to laugh in the face of an elderly person who placed online order wrong. Instead of advising him what to do, she laughed and said, "It's not my problem," and continued to laugh at him. Laughing in his face! The food we purchased took 40 mins to come out, every bit of it was cold and super greasy, and tea was soured. $20 for possible food poisoning. Another lady beside us placed an online order 45 mins prior. She was told they were out of tenders and did not plan on cooking anymore, at 730... 2.5 hrs still till close. It seems chicken places cannot hire enough workers. There was a hand printed sign on one door that said sorry only drive thru. We were hungry for KFC but it was too cold to buy and take to a nearby park and it was too far from home Is there an area on Yelp where the workers can place a temporary message, I.e. NO INSIDE SEATING. ? I realize that workers may not use it but at least it would be available. read more

They do not keep enough food to keep from having a shortage. Fried Chicken shortage thighs to be exact.

I had an unexpected craving in fried chicken and drove to the closest KFC, first time here. Service was fast and proficient, I was in and out in about a minute! But when I got home, OMG, this chicken was amazing. Crispy, fall of the bone tasty and juicy. I'll be back! read more

Very very poor customer service. Manager Cindy needs additional management training. I waited 38 mins outside for my 12 piece tender meal. An employee came to my car after I waited 20 minutes and told me itd be 10 more minutes since they had to make my food fresh (it was 6pm, do they not know that's dinner time?). After another 15 minutes she brought my food to me and it was missing biscuits. I went in to get the rest of my order and was pretty much ignored for another 5 minutes. read more

I went to the drive thru this evening and ordered (2 )three piece thighs only meals and a chicken bowl. got home and they charged me for the three meals but only gave me one 3 piece chicken and one bowl. I called and was told to give me my name and I could get a free meal next time. My question was and who doesn't eat this time. And it wouldn't be free, I payed for it .So I went back over for the meal. Was given my meal wasn't told sorry I had to make two trips there or that my food was cold when I got back home. Very friendly register clerk welcomed me and took my buffet order. There seemed ample help, an effort to keep tables clean and a steady flow of mostly older folks taking advantage of a fabulous lunch buffet. They provide peaches, jello, vegetable sticks and cole slaw in the cold portion of the bar. Their mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits, hot dressing, carrots and cabbage were willed to the brim and steaming. They have small pumpkin squares for dessert and a bin of fried chicken, original recipe. Drink included with the buffet and seniors 60+ enjoy a savings. My only complaint that cost them a star, they only had backs in the fried chicken bin! I guess it was restocked after I was through but someone needed to fill it sooner to keep it balanced. (If you get there too much afternoon, old geezers take forever to shuffle through the line and reshuffle for refills.) I understand they'll provide extra crispy on request. It's a great, filling hot meal, just once through. read more

I used to frequent this KFC. By frequent I don't really mean I ate here frequently, but that sounded better than saying "I used to unfrequent this KFC." What is it about KFCs in Lakeland? They never get your order right, so we just stopped going. Not to mention the whole fried-food-will-kill-ya meme. The last time we were here we tried the buffet (I know, I know). I really don't know where to begin with this. It started when my husband and I entered the drive thru area, since it goes behind the restaurant and along the other side we were able to see the back door. On the door was a big sign that said "DO NOT OPEN THIS DOOR AFTER DARK". The door was not only open but PROPPED open which put all the employees in danger of someone entering the building on them. I finally got to the drive thru speaker where a very nice lady asked me for my order, in the middle telling her I realized she was no longer there. After saying "Hello, hello, is anyone there?" several times a man came on and asked me what I wanted to order. I told him I wanted 6 chicken strips, cole slaw, green beans and a large drink. He asked me if I just wanted chicken strips and I said no and repeated the order, he asked me again if I ONLY wanted chicken strips and again I said NO. At this point I told him "Never mind" and I parked my car and went inside. When I got inside a very sweet young lady took my order. I was very specific "I want a 6 piece chicken strip dinner, she asked " Do you want the tangy bar-b-q?" I told her NO I wanted the extra crispy chicken strips with cole slaw, green beans and a large drink, that is for my hubby. I'm not very hungry so I would like two chicken legs, cole slaw, green beans and a large drink, she filled my order and I left. When I got home I had two chicken legs, mashed potatoes (NO cole slaw) and green beans. My husband had 6 hot and spicy chicken strips, mac and cheese (NO cole slaw) pickles and green beans. This is NOT the first time this has happened, the last three trips to this KFC have been a nightmare. NO MORE!!! I do not recommend this KFC to anyone! read more

I have visited this place many times, however the last three visits have been basically disappointing. No, it's not about the service, or the cleanliness --- which is excellent on both counts. At first I thought, three visits ago, that it was "just me". Then, on the next to last visit, I again had the same thought but the last visit has now made me realize that the Colonel would be spinning in his grave if he knew that someone has TAMPERED with the previously tasty recipe for the flavoring of the chicken. Now, understand that this is a "buffet option" restaurant and that the chicken served at the buffet is usually extremely hot (after one has to sometimes tell the people to refill the picked over "left behinds" or the empty bins!) and even though I let the wings cool down (yes, I'm a "wing man") the flavor IS NOT THERE, be it "regular" or "crispy"!!! So, after trying to be "neutral" about the flavor, and giving the benefit of the doubt, I say that if you JUST want chicken -- go to this restaurant. If you want the OLD FLAVOR, well, I don't know what to do, maybe Google it and cook it at home! I'll be checking on the other "buffet styles" in the future. read more
