Got seated immediately in a high top at the bar in which we requested. The bartender , becks, was amazing !!! Talk about a hustler. Service was great and she was every one too of every thing I ordered a Moscow mule and it was a for sure must The old fashion came with a kick but did the job .. fire got it right with a big ice cube ... The food came out quick ... everything on my plate was delicious ... Loved the longhorn feel which is very ranch and I loved it. Never have gone wrong at a long horn .. the ambiance was for sure on point

Not happy at all will my To Go Order and I really don't feel like driving back to have it corrected Got home and my loaded bake potato is not so loaded just a plain bake potato covered in salt..... although the container labeled loaded with all the ingredients I expected to get, 2nd side was a cesar salad all toppings included but no dressing

Went for a birthday event which if you didn't know they can't sing happy birthday they sing their own jingle. Food was great had leftover steak to eat the next day. Not pictured was the onion petals for an appetizer.

We had a lovely dinner here with exceptional service. We were greeted with a smiling face and seated immediately. Our server went above and beyond and stayed on top of everything. The food was hot and delicious. My husband and I both decided to forgo the usual salads and have cups of potato soup instead. I don't know what this particular Longhorn does differently, but it was some of the best potato soup I've had in quite some time and they were overly generous with the cheese and bacon. I had the filet and it was cooked a perfect medium with wonderful flavour. My baked potato was also cooked perfectly... you may ask if one could really mess up a baked potato and the answer will be a resounding YES! Overcooked... undercooked. I find myself often disappointed with baked potatoes in restaurants. I'm so happy we found this convenient steakhouse immediately off of I-4 on the route from Orlando to Tampa. I know we will be stopping here often for lunch or dinner as we are season ticket holders to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and make frequent trips during football season. Two thumbs up!

I ordered the Texas margarita, I thought that it was a good deal, but it isn't. $5,99 but it is in a small glass with a lot of ice and the flavor of tequila is almost zero. Chowder is ok. Salad was good. Steak came in a wrong temperature, but our server help me and bring again just right. She was very friendly and helpful. Environment nice but song was a little loud.

Nice decor for this Smiths American Tavern…read more The bartender met us at the door, due to it being the middle of the day, and business being a bit slower, and we opted to sit at the bar. He was very social and answered all our questions and socialized about personal life as well. We ordered the Cuban eggrolls, and they were quite good but had smaller cubes of ham as opposed to pictures showing slices in some older pictures posted to this establishment. The drinks were spot-on. Although I may sound disappointed, I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu that they have to offer. I plan to return to try more. Recommended!

The atmosphere is dive bar friendly and there are so many cool niche areas for photos. Really loved the raised unfinished ceiling and the naked white brick wall which covered the side wall of the tavern. When you enter there is a hostess to great you. And our server almost appeared immediately. She explained the menu to us and the specials. What a great first impression. Unfortunately, there was a key piece of info we missed. There is a full bar, draft beer options and a decent wine selection. I ordered a draft beer and a flight of Mimosas. The beer was good, the mimosa flight not so much. Oh, and they have brunch specials on Saturday and Sunday, including unlimited mimosas at a 2 hour limit. For food, ordered the classic breakfast plate and a breakfast burger. Food was pretty good, but the burger was from a frozen patty, so not the best. Unfortunately they have some policy where they charge an extra $1 for the eggs. It is posted in the front, but nowhere on the menu. Suffice to say that experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended. They did remove the $1 but it took more effort that I would have liked and unfortunately the review and the server's tip suffered as a result.

Husband and I got the half pork platter with one side. He got beans, which he said were delicious. I got a fresh garden salad with honey mustard. Pork was just right. It was quiet and peaceful so we were able to catch up in normal speaking voices. Didn't have to shout to be heard. Our waitress was attentive and kept checking up on us. We appreciated that kind of service. We only had to get one to go box for our friend. Husband and I got clean plate awards! Friend paid her bill with a credit card. At first glance this place looks like a really cool hangout. The mix of metal roofing and American motif gives it a gritty look. Looks to have plenty of seating to include a covered outdoor area. Looked to be clean and organized. Service was spot on and our hostess/server was quick to provide menus and silverware. She immediately took drink orders and returned rather quickly. My friends and I chose the buffet as it was recommended by my friend's cohorts. According to them "they have the best beans and BBQ buffet". A Looking it over there were several meat choices. There was hamburger patties in a brown gravy, several flavors of chicken wings, pulled pork, meatballs, and burnt ends. Overall it was okay at best. Flavors weren't consistent. For example I had a meatball that was very spicy. But the other was bland. I thought the burnt ends were a bit dry as if they sat there all day. The problem with that is we went as they opened. The pulled pork was a bit mushy. The BBQ wings were pretty tasty. I also tried the garlic parmesan. I thought they were a bit salty. Now for the sides. I felt the macaroni was a bit overcooked as opposed to al dente. Hush puppies were okay. The beans were actually good in my opinion. A nice addition was pork rinds. I don't know if they were house made and I forgot to ask. I really didn't go up for seconds as nothing really impressed me. Afterwards I did try their peach cobbler. Mushy and lacking either ice cream or whipped cream. They did have a salad bar. It looked to be fairly fresh. And I wanted to also add, for an extra $5 you can have all you can eat sliced brisket. At $17 I wasn't going to tack another $5 for kess than impressive BBQ. Overall I'd have to say there are far better choices for BBQ in Lakeland. Would I go back? Maybe, but I'd express my opinion. For what I paid I could have gotten a far better meal at Mojo Federal in Downtown. Just saying.

The menu is french inspired but portions are over the top even by american standards. The cordon blue must have used two chicken breasts as it was easily 10" long and at least 3" across. Honestly, it's enough for dinner, lunch, and dinner again the next day and that's coming from a guy. The cooking was well prepared, chicken and fish were cooked to the correct doneness, but there's a few places for improvement. Too many things were overly salty and the chef seems to favor garlic to the point that it impairs the flavors of the rest of the food. I would never have described the brussel sprouts as "pan fried", they were boiled and then hit a pan for like 30 seconds. One of the heavily salted items, between the texture and the salt, they were nearly inedible. One quick side rant - do restaurants not understand that we all have cell phones and can google the retail price of a bottle of wine? I'm not paying $10/glass for a wine that is $11/bottle (and probably not buying $11 wine anyway). Cut your prices in half and you'll actually sell so much more that you'll make up the profit in volume. Win-win. For a french menu, I didn't see a single french wine on the list. Hmmm Desserts sounded great, the only one we had was the creme brulee. The custard was perfect with a strong vanilla flavor and you could see the beans in it. The caramelized sugar was too thick. You should be able to crack it by tapping it with your spoon, not have to stab it to force it to break. Anything more than 1 mm is too thick. Getting all frenchie and metric on you. Still, a respectable place. I'd like to see a wider variety of herbs and spices used and tone down the the salt and garlic. This place has michelin potential, but is held back by Food Prep 101 mistakes.

Ya caught me, this is a guilty pleasure of mine. Other family members agreed that the chicken was the most tasty of the meats. Another positive, there are a lot of gluten-free options if you eat meat! They even have a special menu that tells you the items that do have gluten. The fries are GF but in a shared fryer, but if that doesn't bother you I highly recommend them. The fries when they were fresh were amazing, but they tried to give us old fries first, which we ended up sending back because they were cold and mushy. Luckily, the next batch pulled through! As for the sides, the smoked corn was good but pretty salty, the sweet potato was so delish, the coleslaw was fresh and sweet and creamy, and the green beans were just green beans. They made a mistake on our order, fixed it, and then charged us extra for it. When we asked them about it, they said it was because they gave us extra food on accident, and therefore we would have to pay for the extra food. To me, this seems like something that should not have been charge because we did not ask for the extra food, but we still paid because we did not want to make a big deal of it. The customer service is not great, and you may need to advocate for yourself at this restaurant.
