We like this KFC. It has a drive-thru. Yes, that makes a difference. Apparently, when we are in the mood for fried chicken, our feet get really tired and we love waiting in our car instead of the lobby. When we order the wings, we order them fresh and we know we will be waiting 20+ minutes. All good cuz when you get those HOT chicken wings from KFC right out of the mix, it sends you to a new dimension of appreciation for some low-down, Southern-style, big chain deliciousness. One bite of those sends a smoke signal with all the steam in front of your eyes. And of course, you put some of their hot sauce on top to send it to yet another level. Is everything good on their menu? It doesn't have to be. Their mashed potatoes are nostalgic but who know's if they're actually 100% potatoes. All I care about is putting some of the bomb gravy on there. So good. I tried their chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. Seems like everyone is trying to catch up to the Chicken phenomenon sweeping the country. If you come here, be prepared to wait even if you don't order anything fresh. No matter what, five out of ten times or more you will make a critical error in my order. New building but same old failure to provide order correctly. Last time, everything in order was wrong. We initially wanted to go inside to order, but the doors were locked. There were people inside eating with kids, but the doors were locked. We decided to go through the drive-thru, and they quickly asked us what we would like to order. We ordered a 3-piece breast and wing meal, a chicken sandwich meal, and a mashed potato bowl. I asked if they had any hot wings and they told me that they don't make those anymore. I swear I just ate some a few weeks ago at a different location. Now they are not carried at this KFC or all of them? This seemed odd to me. We got to the window to pay and then we were told to pull around to the parking lot and they would bring us our food. Keep in mind, that there were no cars in front of us when we ordered and none behind us. We parked in the parking lot and waited for our food. We waited 15-20 minutes for our food to be brought to our car. I checked our bags to make sure we had all of our food. As I was checking the food, the food was warm, fries were mushy. What were we waiting so long for? There was no way we were waiting for them to prepare anything in our order. I just left because it was already late and I still needed to drive home. No ice in my drinks, missing cookies from my meals & have to wait ten extra mins only for the employees to put chicken tenders on my sandwiches instead of the fillets they are supposed to have. I now live in Lompoc and posted a "poor" rating for this franchise location about 8 mos ago. I'd like to think that post turned this place around,... but since then I have been back various/multiple times through the drive-thru and each time the chicken has been excellent! The original recipe is cooked to temperature , moist, crispy and very very yummy. It is prepared the way it is supposed to be. Again, this was at least 5 visits or more. The food here is exactly what you would expect from KFC, and the staff is nice... But I've been there on several occasions to find that they didn't have any chicken available, and that there would be upwards of a 30 minute wait to get food. Seems like a management issue to me. read more

I really like KFC but the lompoc store in comparison to others out of the area, has a consistently poor chicken product. Greasy, wet, sloppy skin on the original product, and even the flavor is off. I would say i have visited maybe 3 times over the last year and each time was very disappointed in how they prepare their original chicken. KFC shops that prepare correctly, like Goleta, have a dryer, crispy tangy product that makes you want more. When I asked for honey mustard with my boneless chicken, an employee in the back gave me attitude and told the girl giving me my food to not give me honey mustard. I had to argue just to get some...THEN they did not give me my drink. I didn't realize until I had driven all the way back to base and wasn't going to waste my gas for a two dollar drink. I wish I could give a half star. First of all, it must be pretty common knowledge that this KFC sucks now, when I first moved to Lompoc a decade ago it was always packed at night. Then they started doing stupid things like putting a first day person on the register, ALONE, with only one person doing the food, on a SATURDAY night, at DINNER TIME. Poor girl. Then, they started nickel and dime things, like charging for a couple extra dipping sauce. C'mon, you get these in BULK. If a person wants like, ten more, yes, charge them. But when they only ask for two-just give it to them-it's good customer service, and that's what brings them back. Now, EVERY time I eat from there (or at least 9/10 times), even after ordering fresh chicken, I get an upset stomach and am perched on the throne for hours. I've learned my lesson, I'm not going back. I don't if it's the quality of the ingredients or what, but I don't have this problem with any other fast food place, even the real cheap ones...I used to love KFC, but now it doesn't like me. Absolutely terrible service. I don't know who runs this place but it's a joke. I went through for meals and they forgot our cookies, which is the only reason we got meals instead of just the bowls. I called and their phone doesn't work. I went back to the speaker and told them and they said to pull forward. Mind you, there were two cars in front of me and when I was at the window it took them 10 minutes to give me my food. So I asked if I could park and they could come out and the woman working said "ok hold on." I parked and waited while countless cars went through the drive through.
