Raising Canes is definitely a go to place for a delicious treat. They are well known for their fried chicken and their Texas Toast. The staff here consistently extremely friendly and treat you almost like family. The restaurant itself is super clean and reminds me of a local burger joint rather than a monotonous fast food place, with a much more comfortable environment. The fried chicken was quite good, but the Texas toast is a must try. Also, the signature canes sauce that comes with every meal is a necessity if you are to ever try this place. Overall, I would definitely recommend!

This was our first visit to Raising Cane's and we were pleasantly surprised. We were expecting thickly coated, overly crunchy chicken but the batter wasn't heavy & was lightly fried. The all-breast chicken was moist & tasty. The coleslaw wasn't overly sweet & the fries were good. The manager came by to chat & check on us. He offered us their honey- mustard sauce in addition to their traditional Cane sauce (which we really liked). We were impressed with our meal & will be back.

Just got a Caniac meal from Canes in Santa Maria. very disappointed by the size of the chicken tenders. I've ordered from here a few months back and the chicken tenders were nearly double the size. I asked for chicken tenders, not nuggets. However, the drive thru service was very speedy.

So happy this place came to town. It's been established here for a little while now and they've got things into a wonderful rhythm. The lines have not not been as long, and when they are they move efficiently. You are not waiting for a long time. Having been to this location several times now, the food is consistently good. We had this establishment in Texas where are used to live. It's extremely popular there and we went often. The wonderful quality of the food, and taste of the food are just as good here as they were in Texas. Everything always taste fresh and something I really enjoy is that you can actually taste the chicken and not just the fried coding around it. It is not greasy in taste or touch. Raising Canes is famous for their Cane sauce so give it a try and see what you think. The employees are very friendly and have really gotten down the routine of how Raising Canes operates. Happy to have Raising Cane's in what my family and I call the "chicken district" of Santa Maria.

Had a great experience as I drove in the drive thru. First I wasn't sure if this was going to be another Chick-fil-A but as I saw the menu it wasn't too hard to decide. I liked how this drive-thru was designed and as you drove along the wall the music was great sounding. The associate that I spoke with was great with everything, it just went smooth. The chicken was crispy, tender and great. The French fries looked soggy but I think I was expecting a crunchy look and feel but to my surprise they were nice and tasty like a fry should be. The coleslaw was no KFC but it was ok, Texas toast was ok and Canes sauce was good, not too bearing, instead of a drink I got a bottled Arrow water. Overall I'm very happy with my visit, it may be my go to chicken joint.

Didn't think it would get worse but man it's worse than opening. The fingers are half the size they used to be, the fries are soggy and depressing and the toast, which used to be the best thing, is just bread. No butter, seasoning or anything. Tried giving it another go but I won't be coming back!

The drive thru at this place totally gummed up the entire parking lot, even spilling out onto both College and Betteravia. PUBLIC NUISANCE!!! Didn't even mention that the chicken is bland/funky flavor and the sause is WAAAAY overrated.

Had the chance to recently visit Dave's Hot Chicken in Santa Maria. I'd been to the San Luis Obispo…read morelocation previously but didn't get in a review...so here are some thoughts. Both restaurants were clean in appearance and prompt in their ordering counter customer service. Suggestions were made by Jolene (Cashier/Associate) regarding "the heat" levels one could select...and if you haven't been before, the edification should be welcomed. I ordered 2 Single Sliders (one "not hot" and one "medium"...both without pickles). Total for 2 Sliders w/tax $15.20. Okay so, the Sliders were yummy (5/5) but even though the Chicken hung over the bread/bun...they seemed to be on the smaller side. I don't know why (except I've order plenty of Chicken Sandwiches from other local eateries) but the Sliders weren't as satiating as a "meal" on their own. Perhaps I was expecting too much...after all, they are clearly labeled as "sliders" (not sandwiches) on the menu boards. With the tab being over $15 dollars, I also felt the Slider(s) a bit lacking in the "value" factor. No cutting it in half for a second meal...oh well. I'm not complaining though about the Sliders taste, they (at least my Medium) was delicious. So...will I revisit Dave's Hot Chicken, probably...I'll just order a Dave's #1,2,3 or 4 (Slider/Tenders with sides) instead. On this occasion, in this Yelper's opinion Dave's Hot Chicken in Santa Maria truly earned (cleanliness, customer service and quality of food) a definite "recommend" 4 Star review.

My girlfriend (vegetarian) wanted the cauliflower nacho fries…read more They weren't on the website, DoorDash or the app (as a menu item or substitution) - I called and after they repeatedly told me it was a "substitute option" and that "other customers order it" they just said my only option was to come in. I had to send my dad to go get it - he stood in line, ordered them off a notepad I prepared, he comes back to drop off the food in between his lunch and my girlfriend spit it out mid bite. Chicken. No one is mad or angry at this point. Since I was just on the phone with the store, I called back and "Joleine" answered and couldn't have been a less compassionate store manager. Spoke over me 5+ times, repeated that "i could've ordered online" (like that wasn't my first option) and with all the power of the Dave's Hot Chicken store manager within her she came to the conclusion "there's nothing else I can do" since we threw out the food immediately. I didn't want a refund, I simply called to notify them that they messed up and to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else. I would've NEVER have left a bad review, I love Dave's and have been a customer since Location #1, I've met Dave, Arman and Tommy - amazing people. Amazing company overall. I'm only writing b/c it's my only recourse for wasting hard earned time and money only to get heartlessly shooed away by Joeline. When she told me she was the manager my jaw dropped. That experience was bad enough to get me to write my first yelp review in 6 years. Please do better for the next person. PS: If management sees this, Do not contact me. Do not try to refund me or apologize please - your manager made it clear that's not how things are done on her watch today. Take the L and improve.

I downgrade restaurants that switch to frozen. With all of that said, the best hand-dipped chicken strips in the country at the moment are in SLO, CA at Jay Bird's Chicken. The setting in a small group of restaurants meant everyone was able to choose what they wanted - even if it wasn't chicken strips (everyone went with the strips!). So glad I did! It adds texture, crunch and neutralizes the hints of spice from the battered fried chicken. Speaking of the battered fried chicken. It was perfectly golden and seasoned. Not too salty or spicy, but just enough to make my tongue tingle. In a good way of course. I couldn't finish my sandwich because it was huge! Not complaining, but it doesn't take me much to get full either. Perfect size for those with bigger appetites. The crinkle fries were good, but overcooked, dry and cold. Wish they would have been warmer because I love crinkle fries. I also ordered the Arnold Palmer, which unfortunately was way too sweet for me. Aside from those two consthe chicken sandwich was the winner here and I would totally come back for it.

Walking to order food, the decor and outside is so cute. I love the art and it's just a little hidden gem basically. We got the cheese curds and the combo of 2 Sandos and Fries. Country was for me since I can't really handle spice. But trying Mild, it wasn't much spicy either. So I suggest getting anything higher if you want a kick to it. The cheese curds are basically small versions of mozzarella sticks , pretty good and cheese and it comes with a lot! I'd come again to try their spicier flavors.

The honey was just smuckers in an individual wrapped plastic cup. $1 for that? Ouch.

One negative point is that my chicken and fries were a little bit cold as my personal preference is to eat food at a hot temperature. Napoleon's shake was unique as it conquered the three major ice cream flavors in one. It is compelling. You must have the lucky charm topping because it brings good luck. We got an extra free milkshake because the staff accidentally put the Oreo instead of the Lucky Charms.
