We had this establishment in Texas where are used to live. It's extremely popular there and we went often. The wonderful quality of the food, and taste of the food are just as good here as they were in Texas. Everything always taste fresh and something I really enjoy is that you can actually taste the chicken and not just the fried coding around it. It is not greasy in taste or touch. Had a great experience as I drove in the drive thru. First I wasn't sure if this was going to be another Chick-fil-A but as I saw the menu it wasn't too hard to decide. I liked how this drive-thru was designed and as you drove along the wall the music was great sounding. The associate that I spoke with was great with everything, it just went smooth. The chicken was crispy, tender and great. The French fries looked soggy but I think I was expecting a crunchy look and feel but to my surprise they were nice and tasty like a fry should be. I placed my order for the BOGO Box Deal/received thru email...and in less than 5 minutes, my meal(s) were hot, fresh and ready. A quick tote congenial convo with Tim (he's the G.O.A.T. in providing "out of the box" Customer Service and making every Customer feel to home in the restaurant) and I'm off...on my way home to enjoy the purchased "goods". It was my first and likely my last experience with Raising Cane's. The fries were limp and looked like they had not been cooked long enough as they were completely white. The biggest crime against tasteless came when both they and the chicken were tasteless. Some simple seasoning including more salt would help. The lid for my drink had a straw hole so tight it cut off any liquid getting through so I ditched the lid and braved a car ride with a sloppy drink. The coleslaw was watery and also tasteless. The Cane's sauce was great, but not enough for the meal and I wish they had some other sauce options as well (aside from ketchup). I had never ever heard of this franchise before it's Santa Maria arrival and I didn't have any expectations. The staff was very friendly. The drive-through on a weeknight evening seemed to be lively but hardly anyone dining inside. I noticed ample seating indoors as well as a few large picnic style tables outdoors as well. The combos came out quickly and I opted to take my to-go. Kudos for using paper containers and not styrofoam! The chicken tenders were nice and juicy with just the right amount of crispy breading. While I think the combo is meant to feed one, I thought the portions were very large and I was full after eating just 2 of the 4 chicken pieces. The slaw was crisp and light - solid. So this is my first time coming here. I decided to wait while everything calmed down from the opening a bit ago. First thing I noticed is that the actual parking lot for the restaurant is pretty compact, so be careful when pulling in. I got there a little bit before 1 PM yesterday and there was like 1 person ahead of me in line inside with a pretty long line through the drive thru. My order went through at 1 pm and I had a 7 minute turnaround to get my food. I got the Caniac Box Combo since I didn't know what to expect size-wise. And I figured if I ordered too much, now I have dinner too. I came here on a late lunch from work, so excuse the background for the picture. First thing I noticed opening up the container is that they give a very generous sized ketchup packet/ container. Reminds me of the sauces we usually get from other fast food places for dipping. I can see why everyone loves the Raising Cane's sauce, it's a little tangy, creamy and I think there's a ketchup base? It goes really good with everything in the box ( didn't try it in the coleslaw though so don't quote me in that lol) The Texas toast is good, it's a white bread so it's on the sweeter side, but the sesame seed on top makes me think a bit of like a good hamburger bun, it's a bit crispy on one side and soft all the way through. The Chicken is lightly salted and has a softer outside, reminds me of a KFC batter. This is the juiciest chicken I have ever had from a fast food place. And as someone who loves fried chicken, I have to say it wasn't something I expected to get from fried chicken. I'm used to fried chicken being on the drier side. The Canes sauce is what gives it all the flavor. Fries are also lightly salted. It makes me think everything was formulated to get the flavor from the sauce, which I don't mind. I'm real glad I got this for lunch, for me this is the perfect in between of Popeye's super crispy breading and KFC's softer batter. Perfect for when I want good chicken without too much spice. And because I'm used to fast food places using thicker batters, I expected to need a bigger order, but the batter is thinner so the 3 piece combo would probably do it for me to fill up. Overall I think a solid 4/5, I'd like a bit more seasoning on the chicken itself, as well as the fries. But the chicken being super juicy really brought up the rating for me and the sauce is a big thing that brings it all together. Will definitely come back for my next sauce fix! read more

It didn't meet that standard much less even close to Chik-fil-A. I had hopes due to a few local people raving about it. The seasoning on the chick fingers was bland, not sure there was any seasoning just fried breading. The chicken itself was good, fresh but dry. The RC sauce was just bad, the taste was awful, I ate the chicken by itself despite the blandness. The size of the chicken fingers was surprisingly small. I got the coleslaw instead of fries - nice to have that option. The slaw, however, was also bland, mostly just a mayonnaise flavor. $10 for the combo meal is not a good value, I expected more and it was really more snack size than meal. The inside was nice (decor, etc), but none of the tables were wiped or cleaned. No staff came out from behind the counter for anything despite it being relatively slow.
