After several years of wondering if this location was any good, we got our answer today. It isn't. Our chicken was somehow both soggy AND dry, like it was leftover from lunch. It was also some of the tiniest and most oddly shaped pieces of chicken I've been served in many years. The "chicken sandwich" was literally just two chicken tenders on a bun, and even they were dry like they'd spent several hours under a heat lamp. But what was most galling was that, presumably since it is a rest stop, everything was at a price premium. We are talking 1.5 to 2 times the regular pricing. Wish we had just driven a little further.

Not KFC..def from the frozen section of some grocery store ‍‍‍

Three of us met there for lunch today, and it was delicious. Two of us had the Chicken and Waffles: thick, tender waffles topped with beautifully seasoned fried chicken thighs, then doused tableside by Kimberly with house-made maple-jalapeño syrup. Melting butter and scattered pecans added just the right crunch and richness. I also tried the blue corn grits--creamy, savory, and delicious. Our third guest had the Eggs Benedict with collard greens: perfectly poached eggs, silky hollandaise, and greens that were absolutely "grandma good." Drinks included a great sangria and spicy Bloody Marys, and dessert was carrot cake with homemade vanilla ice cream--golden yellow, egg-rich, custardy, and speckled with real vanilla. Great service, casual ambiance, and down-home, chef-cooked food with a touch of grandma's magic. Definitely recommend.

Why is there not a dress code? It ruined my entire evening with my date. Good food can only last so far when the ambience stinks. Speaks volumes about who they cater to. It's very loud in there. And, the ambience and decor is cafeteria like. The food is good. The service is good. But why they don't have some form code is beyond me.

We were seated right away- they were quite crowded but service was still extremely efficient and friendly. We started with cocktails that were strong and delicious! We all shared the calamari which was delicious! The crab dip was good- just kind of weird a huge dish covered with cheese - served with lots of bread and crackers. For dinner I ordered scallops Rockefeller- not what I expected- each individual scallop was topped with Rockefeller topping. It was ok , but I wouldn't order it again. One of us got baked salmon- it was very good. Another got a crab cake that was also very good. The baked potato was one of the best I've ever had in a restaurant! All in all we were satisfied with our meal would return.

The menu is extensive and you can find something even if not eating crabs. They have a large selection of apps, salads, entrees, and even desserts! We went for crabs and they were beyond delicious! Ordered the jumbo and the large. Very good size and reasonably priced for crabs and what we got. They do serve them with butter or vinegar upon request. You even get a warm water bowl with lemon for washing up when done. We also ordered the filet - yum, and the boneless chicken wings which were also tasty. The main focus was the crabs. So much so that I snapped pics on the way in and once the crabs were delivered I was elbow deep into Old Bay and couldn't snap any more. We also ordered dessert - crème brûlée and key lime pie. Do not skip dessert! Lots of things are made in house. Our server was absolutely amazing! I believe his name was Dale. Ask for him!! None of our drinks were ever empty and he was super attentive and friendly. Just a terrific person and experience due to his emphasis on customer service:

So, if you want Korean fried chicken, you will be sorely disappointed, as I was. (I was raised on a Chinese grandmother's home cooking for 30+ years.) But, if you're looking for Chinese fried chicken, look no further, this spot hits that spot!! It's delicious, juicy, and filled with that good chicken flavor! The sauces are good and tasty, also more Chinese than Korean, and it's better than any KFC around. The servers were really kind and helpful with making choices. There were kids around (well well behaved and others not as much) which was strange but whatever. And the shop was clean, the bathrooms were much nicer than expected, and the tables were cleaned after each customer. If they had trash cans around, I would have tossed our trash before leaving to simplify the work for them. And Amanda did her best to answer my questions (especially since I did have quite a few questions.) Just to add, their fried rice cake isn't tteokbokki. They just take the rice pellets, put them on sticks, and fry them... which is a great Chinese snack but NOT a Korean snack. So, yes... a good Chinese food spot but NOT a Korean food spot.

However my most…read morerecent experience was so bad, that I probably will only go to this particular Royal Farms again if there are absolutely no other options. My daughter and I stopped on the way home from Pennsylvania to use the bathroom and buy a snack. Our usual snack at Royal Farms is the western fries with cheese. First, the bathroom was pretty gross. I don't think that it gets a daily cleaning. Additionally, the soap dispenser was broken. The real problem though, was the fries. Royal Farms is famous for their chicken and fries, and I have always loved both. We got in the car, started driving, and opened our food. It didn't look like their normal western fries. The pieces of potato were skinny, crunchy, and dark. I tasted one, and immediately regretted it. They were very greasy, and the oil tasted old. I don't think the fryer has been cleaned in quite some time. My daughter tried as well, and felt the same. We ended up throwing the entire order away. I cannot stress enough, how disgusting these fries tasted. I have never had such awful fries. I gave two stars instead of one, because the girl who checked us out was very sweet. The two people behind the hot food counter, were rather rude.

They're known for their famous fried chicken, as it's always prepared with fresh chicken and it's pressure-cooked. Driving up to PA, we sometimes stop by to fill up on gas and/or grab some chicken on the way. We usually go for 1 thigh, 1 drumstick, a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, and an order of their Western fries (potato wedges). The fries can sometimes be hot and crispy, or sometimes soggy as it may have been sitting out a bit. The chicken, depending on the time you get there, you might not get it right out of the pressure cooker; you can always request to be made it fresh and wait. The mashed potatoes can be a hit-or-miss, as sometimes it can have an off flavor to them. There are other go-mart items, such as coffee, beverages, sammies, and snacks for the road. +fried chicken!
