Whenever we are doing a roadtrip and we see a Waffle House we are definitely stopping and this time was no different. We were staying at Great Wolf Lodge near by so, why buy a high price breakfast on the resort when we can get a breakfast they we all love for so much cheaper. The restaurant is 15mins away from the resort. The service was great and the food came out fast. Will definitely return when in the area. read more

I came to town to visit with family recently, and we made a quick stop here to eat. I've been wanting to try Waffle House, and here was my chance. When we went inside, it wasn't exactly the most neat and clean around. Some tables needed to be wiped up, and the building does look like it needs to be updated. We were able to find a table, but it did take about 10 to 15 minutes for the waitress to come by. She was a nice lady who was able to take our order and got our drinks fairly quickly. The food was made fresh so it did take a bit for us to receive it (you could actually see them cook the food in the front). One thing I will say is the place may not look nice, but the food tasted great. The Waffles were great and weren't too thick like most restaurants do. Cooked fresh and definitely the best part of the meal. I really also liked the hashbrowns as they had flavor and was a bit crunchy, which I liked. The coffee was good, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. It was definitely a good decision for us to stop here and would consider coming back to if/when I come back into town. read more

We used to come here every weekend, then several years ago it went down hill.. The service went from great, to awful, it wasn't clean and the staff was lazy. We didn't go back for a long time, but this morning we needed to run out early and decided to try it again. What a difference! All the tables were clean and set, the floors and cooking area were clean and the staff was awesome! Becky was our waitress, as soon as we sat down she was there asking what we would like to drink! She promptly took our order and kept the coffee coming! The cook did a great job as well, we're so happy that it's been turned back into the place we loved, we'll be back! Comically bad. I almost never write bad reviews, but... man, this was terrible. Service was awful, like being at a club at two AM and not being able to get a bartender's attention, but with only four customers and no strobe lights I couldn't really see why. The vibe was weird as soon as I walked in, and I quickly realized it was because the other customers were also frustrated. The kids behind the counter were so bad at managing their relatively minimal workload -- the place was almost empty -- that I wondered if they were being robbed, and maybe the real staff was in the back. Ordered a hash brown bowl with egg and cheese. Cook put my plate down and told me he'd forgot the cheese, put it on top in a slice and assured me it would melt. I guess I respect his honesty, and he did get the hash browns and eggs in there, so 2 out of 3 isn't bad. Food was greasy. Air was greasy. Tried to pay and get out of there and even that was weirdly difficult. I love Waffle House when the moment is right, I am under no illusion it's anything but what it is, but... yeah, there's a McDonald's next door, go there instead. Sorry, guys. read more

I was in the area, looking for tourist attractions. Most places were closed in town, so I figured I would kill some time by grabbing a bite to eat while I waited for a couple of them to open. I was driving down from Philly to DC and started to get hungry so I found the closest WH and swung in. I came in around 9 am on a Monday and the place was almost completely empty. The counter I sat at was sticky and still had food pieces scattered around. After I made my order I sat there for about 5 minutes before a gentlemen came from the back and started making it. My husband & I ate there yesterday, 2/8/25 & was not impressed at all. They charged 50cents extra for each egg. I mean come on, they are already making a killing on eggs, @ 50 cents extra per egg, they make $6.00 just on the extra & not the normal price of the eggs. The server first brought out the waffle, two minutes later here come the eggs then two minutes later here comes the bacon. The bacon had to be sent back because it wasn't cooked all the way. Then five minutes later still no toast and at this point had to ask where were the hash browns. I don't know if this is how the Waffle House is now doing business and if so I'm out. read more

It looked like a good morning to go to Waffle House. The parking lot was not full and we could see empty tables. We were only ones waiting to be seated. The empty tables (5) were all stacked with dishes and dirty. We stood there for over 10 min without being acknoleged. During this 10 minutes, no food went out! I finally asked if someone could wipe a table so we could sit down. Manager said they were on top of it. We were seated at 9:50 am and gave our delightful waitress our entire order. She placed the order. We ordered Orange Juice, "sorry we don't have any Orange Juice". There is a grocery store next door, perhaps the employee out back on a smoke break could go get a gallon. It has now been 30 minutes since we ordered. Perhaps this was not a great choice this morning. 45 minutes... exactly an hour after we ordered food arrived. Bacon raw, eggs not cooked. As we were finishing what was eatable, we realized our waffles never arrived. Asked if a manager was available and was told none were here. We paid nearly $20.00 for 2 of us. Granted, I've only been to Waffle House a handful of times, Spanish Fort, Pensacola, Greensboro, Orlando, Tampa....and I've always enjoyed the experience. This time was bit different. This place ticked every stereotype I've ever heard about Waffle House, which is why my first patronage was only a few years ago. Now...the food was good, but it was quite obvious the staff was seriously overworked and understaffed. When we walked in, 2 booths and the entire bar area were piled with dirty dishes. Granted, the staff was hustling but they needed help. The floor behind the counters and the food prep area was a nightmare...not to mention a safety hazzard. Food, trash, towels and broken dishes littered the floor. The waffle prep area looked like what I'd imagine the aftermath a group of 7 year olds let loose to make their own waffles would resemble. The staff seemed stressed and agitated. Mind you, they were professional, but there seemed to be some staff politics or attitude clashes between a few workers...and there was a LOT of plate dropping. Again, I attribute this all to them being frazzled due to staffing. (GAWD I HOPE SO) The food was a 4...but the experience was a solid 2 and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Whomever the manager is....you have great people (former recruiter here) get them some help. If the Maryland Department of Health decided to drop in you would've been in big trouble. read more

But I will say, the staff at this location far exceeded my expectations from previous visits at various other locations. The main lady was very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. I don't want to write too much because I'll be accused of Waffling. But I have always been in love with Waffle House Hash Browns. I get them with everything on them - even the Jalapenos, although sometimes not the cheese. Especially the chunks of ham and the chili, so good. They often make me run to the bathroom though. This place makes them as well as any. My traveling companion ordered the All-Star American Breakfast and loved it. We used to drive to Ohio just for Waffle House but now we have it once in awhile as a treat. Yes it's a chain and yes the menu is always the same but different locations have totally different interpretations of the items and it always feels like a little homely diner, unlike the more chain-eriffic Denny's type things. This one is right next to the overpriced bridge from Havre De Grace, which has to be one of the Frenchest names in history. If you're on I-95 you won't go anywhere near it but if you're ever driving by and hungry, it's 24 hours and it's not nearly as bad as people make out. Speaking of making out... read more

Dirty and disorganized. 2 unclean booths upon walking in and the booths towards the right were blocked off . And DIRTY. As we left, the dishes that were on the dirty upon arrival were still there while some of the the staff, who complained of being super busy were sitting outside on the curb taking a smoke break while the two "who had no clue on how to run the place," ran the grill and served. As for the food, my Texas, Bacon Egg and cheese Sandwich plate was as ordered and very good. On the other hand, my wife's order, the All-Star, was a complete miss/mess. No cheese in the cheese grits, hash browns not scattered well. But she did get two sets of eggs (I guess that is good) though we had a long wait for coffee refills. We enjoyed a great day at the Ice Sculpture Festival last Saturday and decided to go to the Waffle House for dinner at 6:40 pm. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! The restaurant was not even full and the 3 staff were scrambling and ineffective. None of them had a hat or hairnet on, and the cashier was eating a McDonalds hamburger and fries at the register. The floor was dirty; there were dried scrambled eggs and bacon on the floor under our booth table. The cook and the cashier had snarky words about an order rather than using the code. Both waitresses kept apologizing to the guests "Sorry for the delay". The cashier commented out loud that another car had pulled up and she stated she was going to turn them away, which she did!! The cook made comment they couldn't take anyone else right now as he had not been off the grill and the "dish pit" was a mess! A few minutes later another car pulled up and parked and the cashier said she hoped it was not Joe and his family!! She didn't need their _____! We received our order at 7:10 pm. The plates were hot, the thick toast my husband's cheese steak was served on was perfectly grilled, however, the meat was dried out as was the burger on my Bacon cheeseburger. The hash browns were tasty though greasy. All in All, Not a good impression on Waffle House at all! Management needs to step in and retrain the staff read more

When I visit my father in Harford County and we want a quick breakfast, Waffle House is our go-to place. Despite being right on Route 40, it's easy to get in and out, and there's plenty of parking. You pick your own seat, and a server takes your order. The menus are already at the tables. Be sure to check out the one with the $6 specials. We chose two eggs, a perfectly-delicious waffle the size of a medium dinner plate and coffee/tea, all for $6 for each of us. You can't beat it! The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. The service is usually friendly and efficient, although on occasion, our server is just friendly. This really is a good place for a great waffle! read more

Came here for breakfast with the fam. This location was quaint and at the time of our visit, wasn't crowded at all. We had many choices for seating, booth, table or at the counter. We chose the booth. The thing I like about WH is that the meal prep/kitchen area is open and you can see your order being prepared. We were immediately greeted by a pleasant server, who handed us menus that were laminated like placemats, which could be easily cleaned off. We all ordered the all star special breakfast, which included eggs your way, choice of raisin, wheat or white toast, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, a waffle, hash browns or grits and a choice of coffee, juice, or hot cocoa for $7.55. The food arrived hot and quick, which was impressive. The food was average in taste and about what you would expect. The restaurant was clean and quiet, as we arrived pretty early, but as we were leaving it had gotten pretty crowded. There was a jukebox and an area for placing and waiting on take out orders. Headed to DC for a quick road trip and was craving Waffle House since we don't have these up top. I'll start by saying the service deserved a 5. Out waitress was extremely nice, personable and attentive. So this was an awesome start to the meal. Unfortunately I wasn't too pleased with the food or rather it fell a little short of my expectations. The hash browns were a little too greasy, at least my wife and mine were, we both had them scattered, smothered, and covered. Yet my son had normal hash browns that were cooked well done. The waffles were also well done, but no complaints there since I'm not a super waffle guy.. but I would've preferred if they were a shade lighter. The eggs were cooked a lil too hard for my liking, as was the bacon. The pork chop was greasy and could've stood another 3 mins on the grill. My wife's steak however looked a tad bit over cooked. So unfortunately I think the chef on duty at the time may've not been the best. As it wasn't crowded in there, we were the only table. Luckily the waitress was on point and friendly. If I was on another road trip and craving Waffle House, I might potentially return and gamble to see if I get a different chef. read more

This was hands down the grossest place I've ever been. Stopped in for a quick eat on the way home from a road trip. The staff was arguing over lack of supplies (ice, bacon, mustard). There was a bug crawling in our booth and the floors look like they haven't been swept or mopped in a year. The waffle makers were gross. This Waffle House location is more convenient for travelers who are using US-40 (Pulaski Highway) rather than I-95. This location is about 3 miles from the Havre de Grace exit of I-95, so if you're traveling on I-95, you may wish to check out the Belcamp or Edgewood Waffle House locations instead. That said, this is a pretty standard Waffle House. The diner-style interior is long and narrow with a half-dozen booths and some seats at the counter. The restroom seems to be cleaner than most Waffle Houses and it appears that they recently changed the bathroom wall tiles. As for the food, I haven't had any problems sticking to the tried-and-true formula of hash browns "all the way". For a very reasonable price, you get hash browns with every topping that they offer in a heap. I thought service at this location was good too. read more

Ihob would kick waffle houses but in a mixed martial arts fight. Never growing up near a Waffle House I figured I'd give it a shot. Anthony Bourdain said this is an American staple that's been feeding drunks for years... it never closes and is open year round. You'd think from all that time they'd figure out the pallet of America is changing. I'm not asking for organic grass fed beef or hand crafted signature lattes but... well... there really is no substance to the menu. Little bit of eggs, bacon, cheese on top of hash browns. Yes there are waffles and although I was tempted to try them... I didn't relapse into a carb fueled coma... I left feeling bewildered but partly bad. Their coffee could've been a little stronger, maybe a cold brew to punch it up a notch. Some nice hot sauces to pump the plain eggs up... and would it hurt to have some variety of sausage? Maybe I'm asking too much and people want basic breakfast. If you do this is the place to go! If not I'd stick with Denny's or whatever other breakfast chain floats your boat. read more

I visited this Waffle House at 7:00 this morning after working a 24 hour shift. My pregnant girlfriend was craving waffles and cheesy hashbrowns. Other than the cook the only employees I saw were in the parking lot. The cook told me he was supposed to get off 15 minutes ago. He claimed he was new and had no idea where the staff was. I stood in there and talked with him for 15 minutes. No server or hostess ever came in and they watched me walk in. He said they do this because they are lazy. They purposefully drive off all customers except for their regulars that tip well. I'm waiting for corporate to call me on this matter. read more
