I came to town to visit with family recently, and we made a quick stop here to eat. I've been wanting to try Waffle House, and here was my chance. When we went inside, it wasn't exactly the most neat and clean around. Some tables needed to be wiped up, and the building does look like it needs to be updated. We were able to find a table, but it did take about 10 to 15 minutes for the waitress to come by. She was a nice lady who was able to take our order and got our drinks fairly quickly. The food was made fresh so it did take a bit for us to receive it (you could actually see them cook the food in the front). One thing I will say is the place may not look nice, but the food tasted great. The Waffles were great and weren't too thick like most restaurants do. Cooked fresh and definitely the best part of the meal. I really also liked the hashbrowns as they had flavor and was a bit crunchy, which I liked. The coffee was good, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. It was definitely a good decision for us to stop here and would consider coming back to if/when I come back into town.

Great Breakfast and even Better Service. First time at a Waffle House and it was Truly Enjoyable!!!

It looked like a good morning to go to Waffle House. The parking lot was not full and we could see empty tables. We were only ones waiting to be seated. The empty tables (5) were all stacked with dishes and dirty. We stood there for over 10 min without being acknoleged. During this 10 minutes, no food went out! I finally asked if someone could wipe a table so we could sit down. Manager said they were on top of it. We were seated at 9:50 am and gave our delightful waitress our entire order. She placed the order. We ordered Orange Juice, "sorry we don't have any Orange Juice". There is a grocery store next door, perhaps the employee out back on a smoke break could go get a gallon. It has now been 30 minutes since we ordered. Perhaps this was not a great choice this morning. 45 minutes... exactly an hour after we ordered food arrived. Bacon raw, eggs not cooked. As we were finishing what was eatable, we realized our waffles never arrived. Asked if a manager was available and was told none were here. We paid nearly $20.00 for 2 of us. No discount and they charged for the waffles that never came.

Grits, sausage (or bacon) with eggs is my FAVORITE breakfast meal! Front-house staff should always be pleasant and I was not disappointed here. A great attitude is rare to find, so it's refreshing when I actually receive it from customer-facing staff! Especially early in the morning too! Thank you for making both my appetite and experience satisfying!

I'm not a huge fan of Waffle House in general. But it was like the only place open before 11am. So that's where we ended up. But I will say, the staff at this location far exceeded my expectations from previous visits at various other locations. The main lady was very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Everyone else followed her lead and they all worked well together. We got our food in a timely manner and it was all accurate and cooked correctly.

Two eggs with country ham breakfast. ($9.50) and super cheap OJ $2.25 (but also super delicious)

I've eaten at many Waffle Houses but hands down this is the best yet. Super clean inside. Staff was very friendly and greets everyone immediately upon entering unlike some other locations nearby which it takes 10 mins to even get noticed. Food was outstanding and quickly served. OJ was cold and delicious. Food was cooked absolutely perfectly. Not a single complaint. This is the standard I use from now on to rate Waffle Houses!

Funnily enough, I love to waffle

That all happened today plus we wanted to introduce our friends to the restaurant. Olivia, our server, was the best. She had a fantastic personality and really made us feel so welcomed and at home. Brenda, you have a star here! We started off with an order of Fried Onion Rings. They were fried to perfection - were huge and were very tasty. Our friends ordered a Grilled Turkey Reuben on Rye Bread loaded with sliced turkey, sauerkraut, 1000 Island dressing, and melted Swiss cheese and a Mamie's Open Faced Hot Sandwich with a huge amount of fresh-baked Turkey Breast topped with gravy and another huge amount of mashed potatoes (check out the pictures). I enjoyed my favorite sandwich, which is Mamie's Favorite Triple Decker Shrimp Salad and Crab Cake Club with chips. My husband was taken aback with the size of his Country Fried Steak and mashed potatoes. Everyone had something to take home with them. The portions are more than generous. The one thing that Mamie's always does that makes them stand out from all the other restaurants is that they give you a free dessert. We were all so full, we took our to go. We took 2 rice puddings and 2 cinnamon cakes home to enjoy later. We had a great time a Mamie's!

It is a very inviting space where you can sit for a spell and enjoy your coffee or work. It's also a fabulous spot to sit with fiends to catch up. They do sell local art and other cute finds throughout their lovely shop. They do have a little area outside that you can sit as well. And even a bench area beside the building. The staff is lovely. Super friendly and very efficient at allowing you to get your order quickly. There is an interactive post it display while waiting for your order. The drinks were fantastic and the menu is extensive. They do have a cold case of drink options and even local ice cream. For sure worth a stop if you are in the area. I would even go out of your way to visit this gem of a place. A cozy little restaurant that serves up delightfully delicious food in a decidedly casual setting. And in Havre de Grace, The Vineyard Wine Bar fills this niche with a subtle sense of style. As the name suggests, wine has played a significant role in Vineyard's obvious success. So much so, in fact, that not only does the restaurant sport a superb compendium of vintages by the glass and bottle, its lunch and dinner menus are also divided into categories - Light Bodied, Medium Bodied, Full Bodied - that correspond to specific types of wines. Yes, wine is definitely the name of the game... But don't let that fool you. The kitchen also has a great deal to say... and all of it good. The food here is excellent in every respect, as is the service. If I lived in HdG, I have absolutely no doubt that I would be tempted to dine here every day of the week. The Vineyard is everything a great bistro should be - and then some. But I begin to digress... As you have undoubtedly surmised from the above remarks, our dinner here was an extraordinarily satisfying experience. My dining partner and I began by sharing the Bruschetta Trio. Bruschetta is an Italian appetizer that begins with grilled bread topped with garlic and olive oil and then adds a variety of toppings. In this case, the finishing touches consisted of a luscious garlic spread, sundried tomato and basil pestos, melted mozzarella, and house marinated tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. While most incarnations of bruschetta may be consumed manually, Vineyard's substantially succulent variations on the theme (as you will note from the photograph above) demanded the ministrations of both knife & fork and were well worth the effort... Incredibly and unforgettably delicious. As we moved on to what would be considered the entrée or main course, options were numerous and varied... from Cornish Game Hen to Crispy Skin Duck... Venison to Dakota Steak... Lamb Vindaloo to Pesto Bucatini... ... On this particular evening, however, matters piscatorial appeared to take precedence. My dining partner was absolutely ecstatic with her Tuna Bites. Which is precisely what they were... diminutive squares of blackened tuna luxuriating in a Creole remoulade (a creamy, mayonnaise-based sauce originating in France). A definite "wow" factor at work here. On the other hand, my Mango Glazed Salmon was equally up to the mark... First of all, it was wild caught, which I much prefer (with rare exception) to the farmed variety. Secondly, as with most species of fish, salmon tends to be prone to both over and under cooking. Here, however, it was perfectly prepared - cooked through but still moist and succulent at the core - superbly complemented by a slightly smokey red pepper coulis (a smooth sauce made from puréed and strained fruits or vegetables), and companioned by lemon & herb risotto and roasted asparagus spears. On to the wine... With regard to both taste and texture, tuna and salmon are certainly among finny fare's heartiest representatives. Thus, despite the oft-quoted dictum, "Red wine with meat, white wine with fish," and the gentle urgings of our server in that direction, I have always found that salmon and pinot noir are - somewhat akin to lamb and red Bordeaux - a match made in heaven. And, in this instance, the 2022 Lundeen Mon Père Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley proved to be a perfect match for my companion's blackened tuna bites as well. Dessert was a special treat. Naturally, many of the usual familiar sweet endings were present and accounted for. And, given the superior quality of the cuisine thus far, I had no doubt whatsoever that they would have acquitted themselves with suitable aplomb. For some reason, however, my dining companion and I were both drawn to the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake (pictured), which we decided to share... and, which, as it turned out, proved to be one of the high points of our evening. This was an intriguing amalgam indeed: The sweetness of taste being more influenced by the former; the firmness of texture by the latter. It is - if you will pardon the seemingly psychological digression - what we might consider a type of "gastronomic Gestalt," in which the whole is greater than the mere sum of its parts. In other words, the components of Crème Brûlée and Cheesecake have been combined... and from this fascinating combination there has emerged a new dessert that is even more desirable than the components have been individually. Well... call it what you will. I just know that it was so incredibly delicious that I would return at a moment's notice just to indulge my taste buds once again.

Short version was they failed miserably. The bartender was pretty much beyond useless, with almost the entire restaurant only being patronized the entire time we were there by our group of about thirty people. During the entire time we were there they only had two or three tables come in that were not a part of our group. Service was horribly slow, and he was simply rude. The manager attempted to make up for it by putting a second bartender behind the bar to help (who was much better than the first bartender), but it couldn't make up for the bartender's lack of personality and horrible demeanor. Numerous people complained about the quality of service, and we actually had him try to force us out of the restaurant because it was later than he wanted to stay (the place says they close at 9), even though the manager that was closing told us we could stay as late as we wanted. The food was fairly generic appetizers that consisted of steak bites, coconut shrimp and little spinach bites. Overall it was sad that the bartending service totally ruined what could have been a great evening at a beautiful location. The restaurant has so much potential with their location and great decor, but they need to fix their service issues before they can even move on to figuring out their niche. As a friend of mine said, Silks is trying to be a fine dining restaurant on a SysCo budget.
