Been years since we've had KFC and the Mrs was wanting to try it for comparison to Churches and Popeyes. It was not great. Didn't taste all that bad (we had original recipe) but it was pretty apparent that it had been dropped back in the fryer for reheating at least once as was evidenced by how very dark the breading had become. Mashed potatoes and gravy were not good at all. Biscuits sucked. At least we didn't have to wait in a long line at the drive through. Now I know why. I went through the drive thru and ordered a 4 piece whole wing dinner none of the cashier knew how to ring up the dinner. First of all they had only 3 wings I agreed to take a leg in place of the wing. So the general manager name John came to the window and was rude telling me there was no such button on the keyboard he been working there longer than I been coming to KFC. Well, what used to be my favorite place to eat and blow my money on payday has turned into a place that I'll never goto again! We went to the drive through first and sat there for a good five minutes with no response. So we said "hello" politely and was told to come to the window. We did and there were four cars in front of us waiting to order so we decided to go in. Big mistake.... As we go in, someone is waiting for a void. They wanted to order something with no drink but they charged the drink anyways. So the RUDE manager "tanesha or anesha" or what ever came over and was so rude. So she took care of that and then a lady came to the counter and asked if they had forks and "tanesha or anesha" or what ever was EXTREMELY rude to her. So we finally get our turn to the counter and she was a complete CATCH U NEXT TUESDAY! We simply asked if we can try the lemonade before buying and she flipped shit on us about how it was "just lemonade" and went to the back laughing and talking bad about us. Avoid this place! Our team from Tyndall have tried to dine at this KFC since the new building was built. However, the outside is amazing and I love how they designed the inside it's very spacious. The major problem is that they didn't hire any leadership to run this dining facility. Each time we arrived from the base at 1105 only to find the store closed. We left two times disappointed. The last two times we had to wait 15 minutes just to get in the door. Now the fun begins, from what we could tell there are four employees walking around and joking and laughing--Truly Unprofessional. They never acknowledged us in the entire 15 minutes except to only make eye contact. Once we finally did order, there was no chicken of any kind on the buffet. We waited another 15 minutes for them to add overcooked chicken to the buffet. The employees were the same three females working there both times and each time they were rude and concentrated more on the drive through orders than the customers waiting at the counter. This last visit today there were 10 people waiting at the counter and no food on the buffet. We didn't know who the manager was since there were no titles on the name tags. A shame, KFC used to be the best chicken in town, now it's not even worth the drive. We have since stopped dining here and advised all our military friends not to partake of this unprofessional establishment. I was looking forward to enjoying lunch in the newly renovated store and was shocked to see how dirty it already looks inside. At 3 in the afternoon the counters, trash cans, drink area were all dirty and littered. I ordered the buffet, which turned out to be a bad idea. There were mayo packets and foods dripped into the salad bins, the rice was so old it was crusty brown on the bottom, there was a dry rubbery crust in the Mac & cheese, several other bins were basically empty. Only enjoyed a few things on the buffet out of the already small number of good looking items to choose from. Even the regular menu items were off. Mashed potatoes were like soup. I got there and the employees watched me walk in and stand at the counter (waiting for service) and kept eating and drinking as if no one was even there. Ok, ok, ok. Should have read the yelp reviews before I ate here. They are all pretty much on point; trash overflowing, crappy buffet, long line for no reason and smudges on the windows. They have ONE trash can as far as I could tell. Are you serious?! The line was branched into two because of the layout of the parking/doors and the counter. This led to quite a bit of awkward "oh no, I don't want to cut in front of you" conversations, holding the line up further. The buffet was barely food let alone delicious food by the time I got to it. As unpleasant as my experience here was it would be unfair to blame it on the line workers. From what I could tell they were churning out product fairly quickly and seemed understaffed. This place could use some managerial or corporate oversight to correct the consistent problems. Best buffet deal in all of Panama City. Chicken is always good, but the veggie selection is also large and cooked the way a country boy likes. The price is awesome too! Especially for seniors. The difference between KFC's in the area is amazing. 23rd Street closed because they had bad service and management, which resulted in messed up orders on a regular basis. This is the 3rd time I have gone thru the drive-thru (since the remodel) and ordered and this is the third time I have returned my food and walked away with nothing. And the employees. After a unsatisfying experience.mostly my fault for not checking my order before driving the 45 minutes to my home. I discovered my order was only half there. I had all night to plan my call to managment first thing at daybreak. If I could give this place a negative amount of stars, I would. We love KFC, but in the past year since moving here, we have only attempted this location 4 times. The first 2 times (used the drive thru) our order was incorrect, and the food was not even warm. The 3rd time we went inside to get food to go, instead of risking the drive thru again. We waited nearly 20 minutes for one little order of chicken and fries, and it was NOT busy. Tonight was our final attempt. We went to the drive thru where we sat for a few minutes with no acknowledgement, as a line built behind us around dinner time. I gave up, parked, and went to the door. There were about 8 employees sitting in the lobby talking, and a sloppy handwritten note on the door that said "we are closed, sorry for the inconvenience". I hope they are closed forever because this restaurant doesn't come close to meeting expectations of KFC customers. This place needs new ownership or new employees, or should just close down altogether. read more
