I was visiting San Antonio for a wedding and had my hair done by Angel and airbrush make-up by Adriana, I can whole-heartedly say that they exceeded my expectations! Angel did my little girl's hair and gave the the most beautiful soft curls, and gave me the most volume I have ever had for an updo (and I need it!). And Adriana made my skin look flawless with the airbrush make-up. It feels so light and lasted the entire evening. Not only are Adriana and Angel talented artist, but they are also so much fun and friendly. Thank you ladies for making our experience so wonderful. I hope to have another opportunity to go back to SA and get dolled up with y'all! P.S. The studio is private and super cute, which adds to the experience!

Adriana got back to me right away saying that they might be able to get me in and asked about the timing.

My coworker told me about Seventwenty Collective because my former hair artist moved out of state…read more I sent the collective a DM on Instagram and told them I was looking for someone who worked with curly hair. They pointed me to Whitney Lee, so I booked a consultation. Whitney was so down to earth and sweet, she seemed genuinely excited to work on my hair. She said for what she had planned, it'd be a maintenance cut, so less expensive than the transformation cut. Whitney took excellent care of my curls, doing a dry cut (or carving as they call it) to get the overall rounded shape I'd been wanting. Then, she washed and conditioned my hair, did some wet hair trimming, and taught me how to rope my curls in much thinner ringlets. She also said my hair was fine, which I had NO idea! I always thought that since I had so much hair, and so poofy, it was thick, but nope! My hair is fine! Anyway, Whitney added some more moisture, then diffused my hair, used a hair pick to give it more volume, and tidied up some loose ends. My curls had never looked so good, like they finally reached their fullest potential. I've taken what I've learned from Whitney and began applying it to my hair. For the longest time I hated my curly hair. It was a tangled rat's nest and I always opted to flat iron it. Now, I'm in love with my shiny, bouncy curls. I am happy to be Whitney's new client, she did a phenomenal job.

After extensive talking, pictures, and signed a paper- all stating heavy bleach highlight. I had baby light looking highlights very natural at end of appointment. I didn't get any concern from salon after calling the week of and salon actually stated she seen stylist put heavy highlight. Nobody can tell i got my hair done. I have been doing this style for years and it was most amount of my natural ever left out during a highlight I have ever experienced. I got told I was wrong from the salon and it was heavy. The salon has done this for me before. This it was not even in the ballpark of the same thing. Anyhow I have an appointment somewhere else to get heavy blonde highlights and the $225 will be wasted on this place. Didn't get any work really on my hair and the baby hairs in front not done it looks like my natural with some accents. I was also in car with someone during the call they couldn't believe the tone and attitude towards me. The salon and I disagreed. my hair is the proof im not blonde at all, a ton of my natural was left out. Salon kept stating I signed a paper.... Yes correct and that shows im right it's not heavy blonde highlights like we agreed. My hair is short and hardly any bleach used.

After the initial consult, we did agree that I wanted overall brightness, but I also wanted it to make sense in terms of maintenance since the salon charges by the ounce for product use. She suggested highlighting from root to tip. I have indeed done this before, and with experience colorist, it can be done without orange/brass left in my hair. The root of my hair is supposed to be darker, and the highlights should be cooled. Right now, I feel like my hair has been lit on fire. It's very Orange. When I approached another colorist, she asked if I did this at home. So, you might already guess that I will be fixing this elsewhere. So, first, I had a full foil all over, just leaving my root that had just grown. That was washed off, and more bleach was applied to my roots. After that was washed off and dried, toner was applied. The process took nearly 6 hours. And my stylist, for some reason, kept me turned away from the mirror. She was very nice and seemed to really want this to work. She offered to fix it and kept saying "it's your hair not mine". No, I get it, but do you get it? Can you really say this is your best work? Most colorists I love are obsessed with sending their clients out perfect. Is this work you can be proud of? No but you don't want to eat the cost either - I get it. I chose not to fix my hair for the following reason: No toning on earth is going to help this. It needs root darkening. I'm not investing anymore time. If she uses more products, I will be charged per ounce. The total was already $420. I added an $80 tip because she genuinely was trying and was quite pitiful. I felt bad for her, and she seemed to need a win more than I did. Together, I've spent almost $1000 (2 total visits) to come out looking like I did a home coloring job - is laughable. I think the pricing structure is a bit unrealistic given the experience. I also blame myself. I felt like maybe I should have look elsewhere since I wasn't fond of the salon to begin with, but I was lazy.
