I walked in looking for a replacement pair of Olukai sandals I wore through and found exactly what I was looking for, along with a rad bucket hat and a pair of Croakies for my sunglasses. Everything is well priced and I found everything I was after, which is fantastic considering the location out here near the end of Long Island. Khanh went out of his way to help save me 4+ hours in the car driving to REI and back which was super helpful and basically saved a whole day of my vacation. I will start by saying that the staff is very friendly. I even showed up 15 minutes before they opened and they let me in and took in my two bicycles that needed tune ups. The bikes are great and I have no complaints. The only problem I encountered was they accidentally tagged my bicycles with the wrong name! It took them a while to find them and I actually had to leave and come back. They were very apologetic and even offered to deliver them to my house, but I had errands to run in the area anyway. But overall, the service was good. I'm sure it was just a one off. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at Khanh Sports. I shipped my bicycle out to the Hamptons and came to Khanh to have them reassemble my bike. Before they saw the bike, they told me the assembly would range anywhere from $100-$300, but that they could not tell me the exact price until they were done. Nonetheless, I left my bike with them and they said it would be ready in a day or two and they would call to let me know when it was ready. After two days and no call, I called them and it turns out my bike was ready and they just had never called me. When I came to pick up my bike, I was informed that it would be $100. I decided to buy a bike helmet as well, and even when I asked for help selecting an appropriate helmet, the employees that were helping me could not offer informed advice. Once I got the bike out to my car and took off the front wheel, I noticed it wasn't assembled correctly. I did not want them to fix it, as they clearly did not know what they were doing. So instead, I took it to a Trek store and when they were looking it over they found numerous issues with the assembly of the bike including loose handle bars, unaligned breaks, improper tire installation, and more. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because some of the employees who I interacted with were very friendly, albeit, knowledgeable would have been a much better trait in this case. read more

We were looking for daily bike rentals while visiting East Hampton for the weekend and I'm so glad we were recommended to visit Khanh Sports. We were helped by Khanh himself and greeted with some of the best customer service around. He helped us not only with a quick rental service, but helped us with recommendations for our biking tour. This morning I brought my bicycle to Khahns for a chain repair. The owner opened the store 10 minutes earlier than posted on their hours, and told me he would be right with me. He opened the store on time, took the bike into the shop, came out 15 minutes later and told me he did not have the part at that location, but he did have it in his other location. He returned 20 minutes later with the part, after driving to his other location, and fixed the chain. I could not be any happier and will never go anywhere else. I went to that store to have two cables on my bike changed; one for the front derailleur and the other for the back derailleur, after the replacement of both cables, both front derailleur and back derailleur do not work properly any more thanks to the incompetence of the mechanics. i was told that i would need to replace these parts and it would cost at least $400.00. I will call this the perfect repair, you arrive with everything working and you leave with everything broken. The only thing i can write is DON'T GO THERE FOR ANY THING, it will be a disaster for you. read more

Horrible owner. Bought a board from a very nice young salesperson, no prob. They helped me select it, all good. Left the store, got to my house 2 minutes later and saw that it had a small crack in the side. Went back and the owner refused to exchange it. I was super nice and explained I literally just took it out of my Jeep when I saw it. No luck for me. Guy basically told me I did it but there was no way. One of the only reasonably priced stores in East Hampton, and also one of the only ones with a friendly owner who is actually there regularly in the store. It is no surprise that it's one of the only stores still remaining in East Hampton from when I was a kid in the 90's. Everything else has closed and turned into overpriced designer stores. Khanh (the owner) is so super friendly and helpful. They have a really good selection of summer sport stuff, boogie boards, bikes, sun hats, flip flops etc. I was there the other day with my daughter, and he really went out of his way to be nice to her. read more

khanh is awesome. I had a pair of ray bans that had gotten scratched all over the lenses and I asked how long it would take to order replacement lenses. Khanh offered to give me the lenses from the sample pair so I wouldn't have to wait for a special order. He gave me a good deal on them too. When customer service generally died in the '90s, Khanh picked it up and has been exceeding expectations--even for the Hamptons--ever since. Case in point: I was a first-time customer in June when I called from Water Mill and asked if Khahn had an elliptical Hobe Eclipse paddle board in stock. He delivered it the next day for me. I have had two freak accident warranty repair issues with it in the first month--although I still love this board--and Khanh went to bat for me with Hobe and got things straightened out immediately. He happily fielded two repair calls from me at the height of his summer season, dealt on the back end with the manufacturer, and delivered my board back to me in excellent condition each time. Never charged me for door-to-door pick up and delivery each time I had these parts issues. I think Khanh's is a rare business model, and I applaud the way he treats his customers with respect and cheerfulness each time. I will be buying all my future water sports items here. read more
