I am not a big Indian food fan (yet), but was pretty impressed. Great service, really nice and clean restaurant and the food choices were all slightly different and tasted great. I was there with a group that only had a few folks who knew anything of Indian food, so the waiter recommended a sampler for everyone that included many different dishes, great option for us newbies. Since we had 6 folks, the waiter just said everyone order the sampler and he would make sure we all had enough to eat. He was right on, we had plenty and even some to take home. I would definitely go back or recommend anyone nearby to give this place a try. read more

We had a great meal for 3 at Khazana on Saturday night. Very flavorful, lots of food and great service. Chicken Masala, fish curry, shrimp appetizer, naan and coconut rice - made with real coconut! Our waitress was very conscientious, making sure my wife's non gluten and non dairy needs were met. Re the amount of food. Often I find that the size of the dishes is disappointing. That was not the case here - had enough leftovers for breakfast for my wife and I on Sunday! read more

Worst experience of my life! I decided to have dinner with my family and unfortunately chose Khazana . My 9 year old son was eating and suddenly said , ' Dad, I have got something in my mouth ' and it turned out to be a long hair ! When I complained to their so called manager Sanjay Kumar , he said these things happen and we can't do anything about it. Instead of apologizing , he told us , very confidently ,that people find more disgusting things in the food served at other places like Asian Village ( We have been there few times and never had any issues regarding food or staff). Well , I was shocked and asked him , so are we supposed to check each and every food item we order ? I told him that I am going to lodge a complaint . Man !!! He started abusing me in front of my kids and restaurant owners daughter . He said , I quote ' who the f**k are you , we will beat you so badly that you won't be able to stand again ! ( ironically I am recovering from cancer )and he was yelling in front of all the guests present . He came towards me to hit me.Owners daughter came between us and REQUESTED him to go away! She later told us that we have sent him home but with in few minutes I saw him serving the remaining tables ( some guests had already left hearing him threatening me). Owners wife , who was also present said , we can't fire him because it will send wrong signal to other staff members !!!!!!! Khazana is not customer oriented but staff oriented. Amazing food and amazing service. The interior is clean and really nice, and the live music was the icing on the cake. The prices are pretty average for an Indian restaurant, and drinks were good too. The Awadhi Seekh minced lamb didn't come with sauce as expected, but it was not the best dish we had. The Channa Pindi chick pea vegetable curry was absolutely delicious, and the Jeera rice and coconut rice were awesome. Naan was absolutely amazing and buttery. read more

The food that was delivered was good, however they only sent half of a $200 order with Skip the Dishes. Skip refunded the cash amount but we had to reorder from another place for our dinner guests. The restaurant phoned 2 hours later to apologize and offered to send the food, but it was too late. It would of been nice to be offered a store credit but that didn't happen. Would not do business with these guys again. There are lots of other reliable options! read more

Went on valentine's day with my wife. Decent atmosphere, but I don't remember this place being expensive; for buffet, I paid ~$85 for a dinner for 2! Also, we being asked by different waiters if everything was OK about every 3 minutes, a little excessive. read more

We had a lovely evening, the food was great and the service wasn't bad, either. We sat right by the fire and enjoyed a cozy evening. I noticed that the portions were larger than they used to be. Although the new serving bowls are larger than the old copper serving bowl, I do miss the old bowls as they added to the ambience. read more

Went for lunch buffet today after not being in years. The room is still beautiful, and we were sitting beside a fireplace which is great. It was super cold out outside. The waiter said "Would you like something to drink other than water?" When I said "yes", instead of offering us menus for beer and wine lists etc, he said "What do you want?". Not a great start. Then, after we got our beers, he said "You'll want to go get your food because we're taking down the buffet in 20 minutes. Um it was 1:15 pm but okay. Our waiter continued to be surly and ignore us the whole time we were there. The other servers seemed super nice. Ajay, congratulations - you're one of the worst waiters in the city. Food was very average, and I'm probably being generous. Overall, completely underwhelming experience. I won't bother going back. read more

This is an excellent restaurant with a nice, friendly wait staff. I had the lamb Vindaloo which was spicier than most Vindaloos I have had in the past, but it wasn't overpowering hot. A good choice if you're in Edmonton. read more

We had not been there for 4 years. Will not be going back. Service was bad and food was mediocre. Ground lamb dish was cold/beef vindaloo was dry and saffron rice was dry. The only item we liked was the grilled wings. Very disappointed and it appears this restaurant has deteriorated. read more

Very disappointing - as least for the main which was to be the highlight of the meal. While the atmosphere is great...it end when we ordered and the main plate arrived. First, we should share we book this retso on Open table and have dined here many imps before from the day it opened, through the years and change of ownership for lunch and dinner. Regretfully once Khazana was sold from the original owner /operators it has never retained the same high quality of food or service. So what went wrong this night -is that we ordered a "whole" chicken to be prepared in Tandoori oven. The server went to great lengths to explain it was not a "whole" - but a whole chicken cut into quarters...speared and then served on a skewer - for the price of $34.00. What came to table later were 7 small pieces of very overdone chicken breast - not tandoori but slightly charged but white - chicken prepared earlier in the day, chilled and then slightly grilled but not Tandoori. In fact this chicken was baked/steamed in volumes and is the base for butter chicken and every other chicken dish which chicken is severed. The wholeTandoori chicken was the reason we choose to dine that evening. having got that off my chest, I will go back to begging and say we ordered appys - samosas (veggies) and a salad of cheese, veggies, pineapple for 2 that was to be put in the tandoori and served warm. These were very good, albeit the sauce for the samosas was lacking and a true chutney would have been a better and the veggies could have been cooked 2 minutes more as the chunks of onion and green paper were raw. None the less these were good an worthy of ordering. The nann we ordered was bland (the very small piece we received) and pricy (served free any where else). Back to the chicken chunks served...we order a veggie Biryani to go with this that was excellent. Service was spotty and frankly stupid - in that after discussion of the whole chicken tandoori with the server- some other dish arrived. This was compounded when the Owner stopped by and we advised this and he listened but did not offer to remedy this. The 1/2 litre of house red was passable. We feel we were taken advantage of in that the restaurant likely does not have fresh whole chickens or fresh lamb shanks that could be cooked in the tandoor oven. We won't be back for dinner - just about anyplace in the metro serves better food for 1/2 the price. read more
