    Damaged Package upon receipt
    Quan T.

We ordered some Xi Muoi online from here to be shipped to our house. When it arrived, the packaging was damaged with a label from USPS stating that it was received in damaged condition and it looked like someone had opened it already. When we checked the package, we only received 1lb of our 2lb order. We called the business asking for a refund of the portion of the order that we did not receive and the owner was super rude and essentially told us it was not his problem. When we pointed out that their refund policy on their website says that we need to notify them within 3 days of receiving a damaged package to receive a refund - he said he doesn't know anything about that policy (even though it is listed in their website). Shady and rude business...would not recommend ordering from this place.

Kho Bo So 1 translates to #1 Beef Jerky. Like a kid in a candy store, I go directly to the left wall where all of the jerky varieties await. Let's see, there is curry beef jerk, traditional jerky, spicy jerky, shredded cuttlefish, crispy dried "crabs", dried squid, etc. and what's nice is you are free to try a piece before ya buy. When a decision is made, it is sold by the pound. Typically, premium jerk costs around $20-23/lb! On the center aisle and the other wall there are sweet treats like dried fruit, candies, jellies, gummies, you name it! Oh, and they also sell great cans of pate'! Every trip to Houston includes a stop here, ending with a minimum $100 spent to take home goodies for friends and family.

This is the second time I've been here. First time I went there I bought the kho bo don (crispy beef jerky) which was really crispy however this second time it was stale and slightly soggy. The cost is a bit steep; $30/lb.

And another picture of the feather I found. :(

Service was horrible but I still liked their treats. Not anymore, I just opened one of the bags of xí muoi không hot and guess what I found ? A Bird( or Chicken) Feather in my bag ( I don't even know which feather it is). It is so disgusting!what a waste of money.

Must try: beef jerky, the mini dried crabs No California relative to bring you beef jerky? No problem! Get the best Vietnamese jerky at Kho Bo So 1, located in the Kim Son center in Chinatown. Their name translates into #1 beef jerky and it's true! They have a plethora of dried fruit, squid, shredded pork, variations of flavor on their original beef jerky, and... Mini dried crabs. These little crabs are crunchy, a little sweet and have a little kick from the Chili. Everything in the store goes great with your favorite beer so you really can't go wrong. Just let the boss man or boss lady know which one you want and the amount (they price per pound) and they will package it for you. They do take credit cards :)

Food: Spicy sichuan intestine hot pot: if you like intestines this is really good with rice Dry Pot Spicy Pork Intestine: sauteed with chinese cauliflower and peppers, this is also good Cumin Beef: not too heavy on the cumin Salt Pepper Prawn: the prawns are huge and are super crispy so you can eat it shell on. i love the cilantro and fried garlic pieces on top Eggplant and greenbean: standard dish Beef tendon skewer: good texture Lamb skewer: not too gamey or tough Chicken gizzard skewer: enjoyed this as well Grilled scallops: lots of garlic, topped with vermicelli Grilled enoki mushroom: this was really good Overall, the service is fast and the food is good. The shaved ice itself was really nice and fluffy, with the condensed milk topping being VERY sweet yet not overpowering. The fruit toppings we got, for the most part, were good. The pineapple and cantaloupe were both okay, though I think they both could've been fresher, but the strawberry and mango were both really good and complemented the shaved ice. I also really enjoyed the strawberry ice cream on top. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it added another dimension to the dish. The coconut pudding, though, was quite disappointing, not tasting like much and overall just feeling like a random and unnecessary addition to the otherwise really good dessert. The ambiance here was the main issue. It is a little bit barebones and not very decorated, but that didn't bother me. What did though was the piercing high pitched noise of the electronics, which made it really hard for me to focus, and the flashing lights, which just made me feel really disoriented. Still, this place is a hidden gem in the Dun Huang Plaza compared to everything else around it, and is definitely worth a try!

It's a family owned business and one that has been incredibly popular since they opened. I first learned about them as a result of Too Good To Go (#1) and have been a dedicated customer ever since. What their pastry shoppe lacks in space and chairs, they make up for by their extensive selection. There is sometimes a line that wraps around the interior, which can get awkward quicky. They specialize in a number of pastries such as baklava, pistachio desserts, Dubai chocolate, fruit-shaped desserts, celebration cakes, along with gelato and ice cream. Some of the other items include cake slices, macarons, cookies, cannoli, and more. While most of the stuff skews Lebanese, they have other regional items such as the Iraqi znood and Dubai chocolate covered treats. I'm quite fond of their fudge, znoods, and baklava variety. It's easy to get overwhelmed in there by just simply making a choice. The prices are affordable, but can add up quick. Customer service is good overall, it's important that they deal with crowds nightly so be prepared to choose something or ask for recommendations. __________ (#1) Only one of the best discounted services out there. He said give it another month or so. I said OK, we will try you all out. OMG!! The date Maamoul was out of this world!! The other desserts were very good! I don't EVEN CARE if that other place reopens because the Maamoul ALONE was worth switching loyalty! I will include pictures of everything my husband bought that day. The only caveat is my husband said it was a beautiful cafe( you're going to pay for that) and everything came up to about $27 he said, a little pricey, but that Maamoul literally brought tears to my eyes!
