Delicious halal cart located on 65th street and 18th Avenue. They have the popular picks for $6, like chicken over rice, lamb over rice, and combo (lamb/chicken) over rice. Along with these choices, they have salads, sandwiches, chapni kebab, and biryani. With your purchase, you can also get a free soda. Their food is consistent in quality and their service is great. This is a great halal spot for the neighborhood! Rice: cooked al dente, mild seasoning (tastes like cinnamon, cloves, cumin seeds, turmeric). The mild seasoning of the rice compliments the extremely well seasoned meat. Meat: I love how the meat is cut into large pieces (unlike the typically smaller pieces from some carts), adding texture while also having such a flavorful experience. There is also green bell peppers and onions with the meat. Salad: one thing I don't like about other halal carts is how little salad they give and how big the lettuce and tomatoes are cut. This cart gives a good portion of salad cut into bite size pieces. Sauce: they provide the white sauce/hot sauce option. Unfortunately, I don't think they have BBQ sauce (might not be needed given how well seasoned their meat is). They put on an ample amount of sauce where it's not too overwhelming and it's just enough to coat the meat. Portion size: great portion size for a meal. Good amount of rice, meat, salad, and sauce. This is a great place to try! I'm very happy to have it in the neighborhood! Here are a few pictures of when I got lamb over rice twice.

The service was extremely rude and the food was nothing special. I definitely wouldn't choose it again.

First time I ate here, the food gave me a stomach ache and I decided to give it another shot today. Yet again another stomach ache.

The ambiance of food truck - like any other food truck but without the frustration of long lines. I came at about 1:30pm on late October Monday 2023. I was not about to wait in line for halal guys, and so I totally came across this food truck by chance. God provides! The guys on the truck Saul and Cecilio (I probably am not spelling this correctly sorry!) are so nice. I asked the guy in front of me for rec and also the guys on the truck. They all said the Saltado with steak. It's now $15 (I was looking at some previous 2021 yelp prices when it was only $11!!!) but considering the recent times, it was reasonable with all the inflation stuff. I was really hungry (haven't eaten for 8 hours at this point) so I ate the whole thing pretty quickly. I think it might not be enough food for a really big guy, but I was also really full after, so maybe it is sufficient. I was eyeing the "poor man's" burger and pork belly sandwich hard though, good thing I have several more days here in NYC to try those out. It's so close to the conference hotel I'll be spending the next several days in. Totally agree with Barney - it's definitely SMALL but the service was quick and they do take card!! I'll most definitely be back later this week for a quick lunch! Thank you Saul and Cecilio!

They're jam packed with goodness. They don't skimp here. - The stir fry is the bomb too. - The flavor is very authentic to Peru cuisine. Location: 5/5 - Right next to a wine shop. Convenience. - Right next to the Courtelyou train station on the Q. More Convenience. Value: 5/5 - It's nearly impossible to get a burger under $15 in NYC and odds are it's not going to be great. - Morocho puts out some seriously delicious burgers and food overall at a price that keeps me coming back. - I'd probably come back anyway, it's that good.

The other one is called Sahara and this one doesn't really have a name--it just says halal and has a bunch of pictures of food! I hate to do this but anytime, I take my health in my hand, and try street meat, I always subconsciously compare it to the cart on 53rd and 6th. Hands down, I think the 53rd and 6th cart has the best white sauce and rice around (well as far as street vendors go!) and thats saying a lot because I am a rice snob!. But this halal cart, gets a 5/5 for their lamb! its tasty, tender and cut into perfect portions. I am also pretty pleased with their white sauce. I am always surprised at how hot the hot sauce in these carts can be. Don't get me wrong, I am a practical fire eater so I can appreciate the heat, but even I would say that it must be used in moderation. While this isn't the hottest hot sauce I've tried, (once again--that honor goes to 53rd and 6th}, it is definitely in the running. If you're not one who enjoys the taste of fire, I'd advise you to skip the hot sauce. My main gripe is that the rice is a bit more grainy than I'm used to, but it isn't a dealbreaker. Anyway, I'm accustomed to having pita with my lamb over rice, but since that is not automatically included with this platter, I had to ask for it. Instead of just cutting the pita into quarters and putting it in the tray like I expected, he threw it on the grill, lightly doused it in white suace, warmed it up, cut it up into slivers, put it on top of the rice and finished it off with more of that adductive white sauce! Perfection! Needless to say, i was pleased! IDK if he charged me an extra .50 cents because I asked for the pita, but all this yummy goodness, with a complimentary soda, came out to only $6.50. My favorite thing about the cart though is that its sooo close to home! It is located at the Flatbush junction right in front of the Triangle Junction or as most people know it, the Target mall, so I'm sure it is very convenient for many people. Whenever I have the hankering for a lamb platter, which is getting to be pretty often!, I'm glad that I do not have to trek to the city anymore--this cart is a much appreciated and quite delicious alternative for my usual haunts: 28th and madison or 53rd and 6th!

If you are in the Brooklyn Area you can catch the B44, B103 Busses or take the 2 or 5 Train last stop to BK College and walk to the Food Trucks. They are 2 of them on the corner. For people who drive you can park in the Target Parking lot in the back. If you arrive early from 8am-10am you'll pay only $7 for the Day or you can just Park around Avenue H or anywhere else that isn't Metered. There is Bike Racks available for people who ride Bikes as well and it's not too far walking Distance for people who live or attend school (Brooklyn College Midwood High School) within the area. So in closing I'll catch you all later let me go rest and preserve my stomach for tonight. You may see me in Fort Greene Park slope or East Flatbush eating elsewhere.

Although it's not the traditional Taiwanese version I'm used to (with cabbage and carrots), I really like the lady's variation! (She uses shredded pickled daikon and carrots). I also ask for all the sauces and it's not too spicy either! I've only spoken Mandarin each time I ordered from her, I'm not sure if she speaks English or not. However, if you're a none Mandarin speaker, definitely speak up or grab her attention somehow to order since it can get chaotic sometimes if she's busy and she doesn't always remember who was first in line. She's very friendly!! I have gotten her stinky tofu at least five times since moving to Brooklyn and I've never gotten sick from it. Don't be intimidated by the street carts!

OVERVIEW: In many countries, it's not unusual for locals…read moreto eat two, or even three meals at street food stalls. This is not surprising, as many of these vendors can offer a hot, and delicious meal quickly, and for a relatively reasonable price. So, if you happen to be near Brooklyn Chinatown's famous 8th Ave, come visit Lotus Sister Food Cart. You'll experience the unique charm and feel of an authentic street food cart. And, at the same time, grab a quick tasty snack, or even a meal for a few people. For close to a decade it's been located on the corner of 57th Street and 8th Ave. And by chance, it's diagonally across 8th Ave from "Tofu Stall", another very interesting street vendor to visit. Keep in mind, that what's primarily being served here are quick eats, such as skewers, fried chicken, noodles, and dumplings. But this doesn't take away from the fact that the food here is delicious, and crazy fun to order and eat. WHAT TO ORDER: - The cheung fun rice noodle rolls are standard, but very good, and can be topped with fish balls, or curry fish balls. Of course peanut sauce and hot sauce can be added. - All the skewers are good, especially the chicken, chicken wing, fish tofu, fish balls, and others. - Their famous fried chicken legs are one of the best items, and are really crispy, with a hint of five spice flavor. Absolutely delicious. - The lo mien and rice noodles are tasty, but even better when topped with some of the skewers, or maybe some hot sauce. - The stinky tofu is a mild version, which is good to order if you like it, or if your trying it for the first time. - The dumplings are pork and chive, and are tasty, even though they are deep fried. - Plain cheung fun noodles, fried tofu puffs and other items are available in bulk, to take home and use in your own cooking. SERVICE: I really like the Auntie that runs this cart. She is friendly, to the point, and keeps things moving quickly, so everyone receives their order in a timely manner. When you're ordering, she always offers something additional for you to try, that she feels you will enjoy. She speaks Chinese and English, and is also happy to take your order by the point at the food or menu method if necessary. PARTING THOUGHTS: If I'm close to 8th Ave, hungry, and I don't feel like ordering from a restaurant, I can't pass up this auntie's food cart. Hell, just the smelll of her frying her famous chicken legs, is enough to catch your attention from almost a block away. So go visit her, and grab some chicken legs or cheung fun, and, what ever other tasty treats she convinces you to order. You'll be happy afterwards, I promise.
