Ahhh this place is one of the hidden gems I would say, cause truly the food was a blessing. Food: Was great and portions were big enough for a group of 3 people. Hubby and I had dinner here earlier today. We were exploring the Middle Eastern area and wanted to have food. The staff were friendly and nice and showed us to our table. The bathroom was clean and big. My husband ordered himself the Chicken shwarma w/ 2 sides: rice and salad and I ordered the Adana chicken kebab (double) w/ 2 sides: vegetables and salad. As soon you see from the pictures, the portions were adequate and good. The meat was tender and the salads were flavorful. I tried my husband's entree as well and I liked his dish as well. We were both so stuffed we couldn't eat anything more so didn't opt for dessert; maybe next time. I'm not a petty person; I question things when it's the principle. On our bill our entree items prices were $17.68 (mine) and $16.68 (my husband's). On the menu, the prices were listed as $17 and $16. I asked the waitress why is there a difference between what the menu said and the receipt. She told us that's what their system printed out. That it is tax for the items. However, tax was listed as a separate line item on the receipt. He reasoning didn't make sense. I let it go because it was cents difference but they need clarify things better. I've been meaning to try this place for a while! Came for lunch after a movie next door and there was ample seating available. We ordered the mix shawarma entree with rice and salad, and the chicken shawarma pita sandwich with fries. Everything was made fairly quickly and tasted very fresh. You order at the front and then have a seat at one of the tables, which is nice if you are looking for a quick hot meal. My food came out within 10 minutes of waiting. The chicken shawarma was well-seasoned. You get two sides with any entree platter, so I chose the rice and veggies. I had the pleasure of breaking one of my fasts here during the Ramadan of 2024. As soon as we entered we were rushed to our seat and urged to order before even taking a proper look at the menu. Assuming the fact that they wanted to get the order in and get started on the cooking before it was time to break the fast, I won't hold this against them. The ambiance was pretty hectic but the aromas of the grilling kebabs made up for it (or maybe I was too hungry) We ordered the lamb kebab on the laffah and a chicken kabsah. The wrap was very hard to chew on, seemed like it was very old and stale but the kebab inside was delicious. The lentil soup warmed up our hungry souls and the kabsah was a wonderful surprise. It was very akin to a chicken biryani of sorts. The chicken was tender and a good amount of it too. I would definitely revisit to try other dishes next time. read more

I saw the reviews here before walking in, the food looked good, but I figured they got the 5 star rating from friends and family due to the relatively low reviews made so far. All I can say is that it's been a while since I was blown away by quality of food AND service. Walking in, first impression was that the restaurant was spotless. Top to bottom clean and very organized. The ordering process was smooth and the friends at this restaurant taking our order were super attentive. When the food came to our table, portion sizes were well in line with the amount we paid. When we encountered a minor inconvenience with the chicken wings , Sanaath (inshallah I spelled the brothers name right), took care of it right away and replaced the entire order even though we had eaten the majority of it. Rarely do I encounter the level of perfection and balance between service, food and atmosphere and Brooklyn Kabab nailed all three. Checked out this place prior to seeing a movie next door at the Alpine, and have to say this place rocked my socks off. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and whereas you wouldn't know looking in from the outside, there is an entire downstairs floor that is air-conditioned and filled with enough tables to keep it nice and intimate away from onlookers. Perfect place to catch some grub before heading into a show. Chicken over hummus plate was divine, hummus tasted so good and the chicken was spiced and cooked to perfection. We picked up kebab sandwiches here last week which were delicious (although the taboule was a Far cry from any Levantine taboule I've ever tasted (it was dry and the cracked wheat was very strange- more like oatmeal). I had to order Seamless this week and everything was bad (except the chicken kebab was edible) . I had wanted to order the same sandwiches in fresh bread (like sajj but even thinner - maybe a Yemeni version) -there were delicious chunks of chicken (almost like shish taouk but diff) and lamb). Unfortunately ... They had no "sand which " options and I didn't want shawarma so I ordered the kebab hoping it would come in the sand which version and a few other things. The falafel was dry, burnt and didn't even taste like anything close to fresh falafel. Def don't recommend. The pita was terrible - super thick and dry . The lamb Adana (my bad for thinking I was getting lamb kebab) was not to our taste (and I've had several versions of Arab ground lamb over the years ) we fed it to the dog. The salad was a bunch of onions and wilted lettuce. The fries went in the garbage- not even sure how to describe them (neither of my kids would eat them). The chicken kebab on rice was fine. All in all it cost me $70 and we only got a chicken kebab out of it . Maybe the Yemeni food is better - or just order the sandwiches in person and skip the rest. I ended up cooking chicken nuggets for dinner since we were short in time and it was a shame to waste the $ and food. Also the bread that i think was called mulawah reminded me of my grandmothers flat bread back in my country in South America. We had a five star experience at Brooklyn Kabab House. While the restaurant itself is nothing fancy, and the food is humble and home style, everything we ate was incredibly delicious. We stopped in after an evening shopping trip to Baladys, not realizing it still was Ramadan. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but shortly thereafter, it filled up with friends and families breaking their fast. There were bowls of dates on the table, and our server explained that they were to break fast with because they were so nutritious. The people at the table next to us had brought a box of golden sticky dates, and they insisted we have some of those as well. Husband had a Yemeni shrimp galaba that reminded me almost of a Bengali karahai and it was incredibly delicious. It came with a massive bread that was so light and yummy. To my great chagrin, I wasn't very hungry so I ordered a beef and lamb shawarma. Based on the price, I was expecting a pita with meat and rice but I got a huge plate of tender meat, a bright salad, and delicious saffron rice pilaf. I ended up making tiny sandwiches using some of the excellent bread that came with husband's meal, and took most of my meal home, where it made for an excellent dinner the following day. I only wish I had been hungrier, because there were so many things I would have liked to try. A return trip is definitely in order! read more
