    Mantoo!!! 10 stars!!
    Janet L.

My first Afghan experience! My mantoo is sooooo flavorful! Service was great. Mom and pop vibe. Parking was easy. Tip 1- bring a friend who's been there. Had it not been my friend, I would not have known what's the best! Tip 2- go on a Monday! Apparently the Mantoo are not always available because they made them in house and they are always sold out!

    Salad, rice and assorted kabobs

I took a friend and wanted to let her try several things. I ordered the combo dish, veggie samosas and naan. We both took home enough leftovers for several dinners. It was enough for six hungry young adults!!

Wrong price on Mantoo, $15 ($18 when you get in the restaurant).

Delicous food! Had the Goat Biryani and the Mantoo. Both were great. The goat was super tender and flavorful. The Mantoo was a tasty dish of dumplings filled with a ground beef mixture served in a tomato meat sauce with a yogurt sauce topping. My only complaint is that their online menu on their own website has inconsistent pricing compared to their printed menu in the restaurant. Call it false advertising, or possibly bait and switch. The online menu listed the Mantoo as both $12 and$15 depending on how you load their website, and that's what I came to eat. Yet, their printed menu lists the Mantoo as $18. I brought it to the attention of my server, and I thought she said they would "change the price", but when I paid the bill I was charged the $18 plus tax. So, I didn't leave a tip. Problem solved, but at the expense of the unfortunate server who was not rewarded for her attentive service. Sorry... you can't draw people in with one price and then switch it once they're in the door. If you click directly to the menu at the following link the price of the Mantoo is $12: http://www.khyberhalalfood.com/menu.html If you go to the homepage and select the menu link it then shows it as $15: https://indd.adobe.com/view/82aa4207-469f-492c-9b53-e5aa33b1ed95 Pics attached

Had the Chaplin kebab and samosa. They provide the samosa with the raita which is a spicy yogurt cucumber dip. The samosa meat was minimally seasoned and the main flavor unfortunately had to be supplemented by the raitha.

Took the pic halfway through eating it, everything was delicious and everyone was so nice. Love this place

Go back again, and again. When you have where there something good you go back and back some more. This was the simple Gyro rich full flavored beef and lamb slathered with tzatziki sauce, in this case Lavash. Lavash is Armenian thin square shaped bread. The bread has more taste and texture then a Gyro. Khyber puts Gyro meat, yogurt and vegetables, such as lettuce, tomato, and onion then rolls them inside. (See photo) Inside, It forms a tube around the vegetables and meat. It is easy to handle. Maybe the only problem is to get the paper off the outside, for the delight of Khyber's Gyro. This is one perspicuous values the menu. If you order it, you will enjoy the fries as well. A mountain of thin cut fries that are nicely done as was our service.

Loved our experience at Khyber Halal. The staff were friendly, and frequently checked on us during our meal. The food was AMAZING--very juicy, tender, and flavorful. We tried the garlic naan, chicken boti, and qabuli palau along with mango lassi and dogh. We were really impressed and definitely coming back next time in Phoenix.

    Chicken Boti

It's very hard to find a good Pakistani restaurant in the Phoenix area, and this is it! I believe I have tried them all over the last 3 years. I had the Chicken Boti and it came with generous portions and was excellent. The server was very attentive and helpful. The restaurant itself was clean and well lit. I did notice that the prices online are way off from the in-store menu. Additionally, the hours can be unpredictable. They were closing at 6:30 PM when I went and their normal closing hours are 7:45. This is a small family owned business and they are doing the best they can. I would call in the afternoon and ask when they are closing before heading out. I still give them 5 stars because the food is all that matters to me.

Tried their lamb shank & sabzi. Food tasted authentic & fresh. Definitely get an extra green "chatney" if you want a little hint of spiciness! Clean restaurant & good service! (As a bonus, Ahmad Zahir was playing in the background )

Went there on Saturday night. Beautiful place, very welcoming and friendly. The food was outstanding. We had goat biryani, chicken bolani, quzi. Service was quick and very friendly. Definitely highly recommend.

    When will they re-open?

Hello! We will be re-opening in May! Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Why is the restaurant closed? Is it going to reopen any time soon?

They closed to focus on making meals for Afghan refugees. I was told it was for a month but they didn't sound like they had an exact date at the time. I'm hoping soon!

This is a neat family establishment. The mother is the chef and Khadija (forgive me if I botched…read morethe spelling) is the daughter and our server. They were so welcoming. I am still learning about middle eastern cuisine so the chef described some entrees. I told her about a Pakistani dish I really enjoyed and she made me a similar chicken dish that isn't even on the menu! What I love about middle eastern food is that it is so fragrant and a full scale sensory overload. It looks, smells and tastes all at once. Khadija was adorable and very outgoing. I was super impressed by the whole vibe. All of the other patrons were probably far more familiar with the cuisine, but we felt welcome and were so honored that they presented something off the menu for me. I plan to try the regular menu dishes next time. The naan is outstanding, too.

We even joked about trying something new, but of course we ordered our usual again but we recently found out they have a buffet on Sundays, which is really nice if you want to try different dishes or expand your palate! The garlic naan is always a favorite, super savory and hard to stop eating. You can also choose the spice level for the masala. We finally tried the spiciest level, and I would say to be careful with that one. We would recommend medium instead. We are Hispanic and even for us the spiciest level was a little intense on our gastrointestinal system, but we still ate everything. If you want authentic Indian food with great spices, this is the place to go. It is usually pretty empty when we visit, which surprises us because the food is so good. We hope this place gets longer waits and we will definitely be eating here many more times.

The Dhaba does not disappoint either, and deserve every five star review they get. Mental note to self, go down a level in heat to a 2 when ordering because they do it spicy! We did a half order of it, and decided next time we would do a full order and an order of the Butter chicken to split. The waiters and owners were very attentive, and it was a pleasant atmosphere on the inside. Parking is a bit tight out front but there is plenty of parking out back.

Our server was probably one of the worst servers I have ever had. Zero personality and literally never said one word to us. Several to go orders and Uber Eats people came in and out while we waited about 10 minutes. We finally told the man at the front desk that we needed to order and get some drinks. Server came over with his notepad and looked at us to take orders, didn't say a word. When he brought the dishes, a few minutes later, he literally plopped all of them in one spot in the table without making any attempt to remember which dish went to which person. Very odd behavior The dishes on the menu are clearly marked vegetarian, vegan or contains meat. We had two dishes that were supposed to be vegan, one was a saag dish which they had placed butter over the top of. It looked delicious to everyone, but the vegans who could not eat it. When we pointed it out, they made no attempt to offer us another dish and just said oh yes, that's ghee (clarified butter) we said the menu indicated it was vegan, but again no response. The two vegans at our table just decided rather than argue, they will share the rice dish, which was also indicated as vegan. As they started to eat it, they realized there were several pieces of paneer in it. I really hope this was a one off because this was one of my favorite places to eat Indian food. Very very disappointing and no accommodation for the inedible dishes.

I motored over to Scottsdale, effortlessly secured a convenient parking space directly on the street, and set out to explore. While strolling, my eye was captured by an intimate, delightfully boutique establishment bearing the name The India. A thoroughly charming gentleman of native Indian heritage, I deduced promptly extended a remarkably warm and dutiful greeting before escorting me to an excellent, highly comfortable table. While I possess a great deal of experience with fine Indian cuisine, the execution of the Chicken Dum Biryani at this establishment is an absolute masterpiece.
