So that's exactly what we did. For my sandwich I chose the Corti special. Basically you're able to choose your bread the toppings and some of the other condiments but you are not able to choose your mean. The person making your sandwich decides what they're going to put in it based on the different toppings and condiments you add to your sandwich. I will say that the service was quite quick there were four other people ahead of me and I will say I probably got my sandwich within 7 to 9 minutes. This was perfect time for me because I had never been to this specialty store before so I took that time to browse the area and the different aisles to understand what were some of the things sold there. I will say the space was surprisingly filled with items that were extremely high quality but reasonably priced. Also all the individuals working there were quite friendly they said hi and asked if I needed any help or assistance multiple times from different people. Now the sandwich itself I will say it did live up to the hype that was being tossed around all of Instagram. It was just so high quality when it came to the ingredients the bread was super fresh and each bite just had the perfect balance of meat to bread to condiment ratio. I highly recommend coming to try one of these sandwiches and one thing I didn't say earlier was at 9:00 a.m. it is not that packed so you definitely can get it early and again have it for your lunch later on.

The deli sandwiches is where it's at though, and there's always a long line. The sandwiches are so loaded! You get the order sheet to the left side of the deli and put your form in the basket. Then walk around the store and pick up delicious cheeses, charcuterie meats, snacks, and fresh pasta. Their ravioli is pretty famous and reminds me of an upgraded version of the nostalgic soft, square beef raviolis that I grew up eating. If you don't want to commit to the entire box of take-home ravioli, you can buy it by smaller tubs from the deli. After 20-30 mins, your sandwich should be ready for pickup. The workers there are so friendly and provide great service. They genuinely seem to like their jobs. We got one guy helping us out from one end of the deli to the other end and he was so patient and happy the entire time. There was a sweet lady handing out cheese samples as well. Everything I tried was so delicious. I especially loved how thin they slice the charcuterie meats where they are translucent when held up to the light. Can't wait to go back for their fresh pastas and homemade sauces.

I decided to cook all of the sausage the next day. If I meal prep and make the patties and cook all at once there is less waste. I initially sniffed the meat and it seemed off but I cooked all of the patties anyway. During breakfast my mom and I grabbed a patty and it was awful. The bite that I ate left me sick most of the day. Later that evening my mom went for a slice of the head cheese and it was old, hard, and dry, well past the expiration date. I will notify Sacramento county vector control, because I suspect a good portion of the meat in the case is past the expiration. On the plus side, the employee behind the counter was very polite to my mom and I.

Hands down the best carnicería and market in the Sacramento/North Highlands area!…read moreI live in Roseville, about a 15-minute drive away, but it's absolutely worth the trip. I first visited after seeing a social media post recommending this place, and I'm so glad I did. It's always nice to try something new and walk away with such a great experience. This is a small, local meat and grocery market that truly delivers quality and service. Inside it looks like traditional Mexican markets with a variety of things to see and smell. I noticed they also serve food, but this time I came just to shop for Mexican grocery essentials--and they have a little bit of everything. The butcher was excellent: friendly, skilled, and professional. I really like that they don't sell pre-marinated meat; instead, they marinate it fresh on the spot upon request. The prices are fair for a small local business, and honestly, I'd rather spend my money here than at big chain stores that don't appreciate their customers the same way. When checking out, a kind gentleman (possibly the owner) greeted us warmly and even offered a free pint of salsa as a thank-you gift. That small gesture of kindness really stood out--it makes you want to return, not for the free stuff, but for the genuine appreciation and great service they provide. The salsa tasted amazing!! I highly recommend giving this place a try. On my next visit, I plan to check out their "pan" (Mexican pastries) and the restaurant side, which also looked amazing!

Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. These steaks per pound seemed way cheaper than any other meat or fish since this economy jumped into the handbasket. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon. I also got some enormous thick loin lamb chops and some veal stew to make my mother's fabulous veal saute (on the stove as we speak) recipe. They had real almond macaroons and an amazing assortment of Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian delicacies and staples. Staff was friendly and answered my nosy questions; check out was easy and uncrowded. Worth a trip.
