    The Italian combo

We've been in the Sacramento area for a few years and have never made our way to the infamous corti bro's. I'm sad we didn't come sooner! This place was PACKED when we showed up on Sunday afternoon. With good reason! The sandwiches are DELICIOUS! The meat and cheese are freshly sliced on fresh break with lots of veggies! The store is huge so we took a little stroll as we waited for it to be ready. Its got that old school grocery store vibe. They have a ton of craft beers and we couldn't just walk past without building a 4 pack! We will be back!

It's been years since I've been here. I was craving a sandwich so of course I had to stop by Corti Bros. There was a large crowd waiting for their sandwich. When you first get there, you need to get a form and fill it out. Once you're done, you put the form on the black form holder. Then you wait for your name to be called. I browsed the store while waiting for my sandwich. They let us sample chili that day. By the time I came back, my sandwich was ready. The sandwich was massive. You definitely should try their corti bros special. They get to decide what meat you'll get for the day. Definitely would come back for a loaded sandwich that's under $10. The parking lot can be chaotic because it gets busy here.

    Italian sandwich on Dutch Crunch

Was hanging out with my oldest for the afternoon and went to get a sandwich. Not from the area so I checked YELP and found Corti Brothers store and said the food pics looked good and decided to give them a try. When you enter the store the deli counter is to the left. You begin your order by filling out a small piece of paper which tells the sandwich makers what to put on your sandwich. Once your selections are made place the paper on a small black plate at the end of the counter right next to where you filled out order sheet. I usually go with a turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich with pepper jack for the cheese. They have all of the usual fixings expected at a deli shop. Just circle what you want and wait for them to call your name. What made the sandwich stand out was the generous portion size and the fresh bread. The Dutch crunch actually crunched!!! They have tables and chairs outside to the left of the entrance to sit and eat. The store opened in 1947 and the food was excellent. Will most definitely be back when I am in the town!!

Hands down the reigning and best family owned grocery store in Sacramento. Old time feel and heritage inside that gives the Italian district in Sacramento its heart. Impressive selection of grocery items that the big names don't carry especially in their wine/liquor selection with a sommelier on staff to answer any and all questions. The biggest draw is their sandwich/deli section. Order ahead or write your order down, timestamp it, and place it in the tray to have your sandwich made while you shop. Support a local family owned business with a steeped history in Sacramento for either your grocery needs or grab a superb sandwich that is very reasonably priced.

Amazing. Just amazing. I am beyond impressed with this store. I stopped in after hearing about their sandwiches, and let me tell you--20/10 recommend! The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and there's none of that overly processed taste. Completely worth the wait in line. The rest of the store is just as impressive. Freshly baked treats, small-batch foods from local vendors, quality produce, a huge liquor selection, fresh bread, a butcher--the list goes on. It's clear they take pride in what they offer. I highly suggest supporting this establishment. I will definitely be returning soon!

To this day I'm still dreaming about the sandwich I had here. The workers here are nice and friendly. Got recommended by some friends to go here and it's the best sandwich spot I ever been to. They have a paper and pencils for you to circle what you want in your sandwich which a plus. I got the roast beef with lettuce, tomato, dijon mustard, onion, pickle, and avocado. The roast beef was very good and I never had a roast beef that is a little thick which made the sandwich taste very delicious and flavorful.

Feeling bamboozled They posted the past few days on their social media that they had 268 bottles. Come to find out, 122 were already reserved (while I was in line since 8:15am, opens at 9a), and the amount of bottles being reserved were increasing as I had waited. Strange. Walk ins were told they had priority? Why would they promote this information on social media with influencers and not deliver as they stated? How does one even reserve a bottle? Employees holding them? That's not integrity. It is BS that the store would not honor what they have been posting online in the posts and comments. Please be transparent and not push fake information, my group and I drove an hour to be out here immediately after dropping off kids at school. There was a crazy line of people wrapped around the back past the dumpster anticipating the bottle, and albeit not everyone will get a bottle but I wasted my time & gas coming out as did many others because of the stores antics. The grocery store itself was cool, very niche with lots of locally and house made items. There were many types of sausages and corti brothers own brand of raviolis and sauces. Sourdough bread available too. For the future, I wouldn't come back here for any whiskey drops ‍

If I could rate "Corti Brothers" specifically on their sandwiches/cold cuts/cheeses alone, they would unanimously receive an easy five-star rating from me. I would even go the extra mile to give it higher stars if Yelp allowed it. But since I will be rating the entire grocery store as a whole, then this review still deserves the praise and recognition it deserves at a respectable four-stars. This is the most iconic and well known family grocery store in Sacramento. Established in 1947 and located directly on Folsom Blvd/59th St in the heart of East Sacramento, Corti Brothers has been a staple and at this point a landmark much like the State Capitol building and Tower Theater. Ever since I've relocated to the Sacramento area back in 2001, I've been here a handful of times. Store hours are much more scaled down than lets say a "Raley's" and "Nugget" as they are open Monday-Saturday from 9am-7pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm. However, it has been awhile since I've been here so why not give everyone an in-depth review of what this place is all about. The exterior signage is as vintage as you will find with the business name in red letters on the building as well as a 50-foot sign that screams nostalgia. The parking lot is small but does wrap around towards 59th St which is ideal for the busier days. Finally, they do offer outdoor seating which I believe has stuck around for a few years but not quite sure of the exact date when this was implemented. When you step inside, you will see rows upon rows of food, beer/wine, and produce. In addition to the vast amounts of items, many are exclusive to Corti Bros. They offer a lot of local food vendors as well as some of the top shelf labels all of which are priced significantly higher than some of the major competition out there. However, I would say that the candy, soda, pasta, rice, tea, olive oils, nuts, jams, honey, spices, and much more offer some of the best only comparable to some of the high end grocery stores in San Francisco, most notably "Mollie Stones" and "Andronico's". However, the real gem here is their deli as it tops anywhere I've been to, at least in the greater Sacramento area. Before I get into the vast sandwich choices, they carry an extensive amount of gourmet cheeses, olives, breads, and cold cuts. And we're talking Hot Italian Coppa, Mortadella, Prosciutto di Parma, Capocollo, a vast amount of salamis, and a nice variety of turkey, roast beef, ham, and pastrami. The bread selection here is decent but just can't rival the top bakeries in San Francisco. As I mentioned, the deli alone is worth the experience all in itself. But do prepare yourself for quite a bit of a wait during the busy lunch rush times (11:30am-1:30pm). Finally, this takes us to their popular sandwiches. You have a couple of options as you can place your order ahead via-online (highly recommended) or at the deli. This is where you walk up to the ordering area, grab a paper order form and write down what you want. You then timestamp it and put it in the basket. Everything here moves quick but I do have to say that the employees work at warp speed in getting their sandwiches out in a very quick and timely manner. I chose the #1 popular sandwich, the "Corti Special"; this includes their own selected meats with all the fixins that you want. And at $8.49 for a HUGE sandwich, this is still one of the best deals in town. You also have the option of getting pre-made Corti Specials in the grab-and-go area but those sometimes run out (due to supply and demand). I will say that the Corti Special absolutely hit the spot all the high notes in every way possible. I chose the soft sour bread and this was baked to perfection. The amount of meat they include inside was extraordinary while everything else was balanced out to perfection. In other words, this is what a sandwich SHOULD look like! All in all, "Corti Brothers" is a place everyone should check out; whether you're a local (like myself) or an out-of-towner. The rest of the food items ain't cheap but service and selection is top notch. As long as this business keeps doing what they're doing, they will stick around for awhile.

On our way to Sac airport we were looking for a sandwich to eat at the airport before our flight and YELP led us here. This place had been here for decades, there was a customer that was telling one of the staff that he used to come here as a little kid and nothing had changed..... This place is AWESOME!!! Like taking a Time Machine to how supermarkets used to be. Great service, extensive and fresh food. The Italian roots and flavor are everywhere in the walls in decorations and antiques and the service. The deli was super busy and we had to wait a bit even though we ordered online but that is worth the wait. We came like at 3pm so can't imagine this place during lunch. Packed with people and the variety, freshness and quality is impressive. I had an egg sandwich....i know a little weird but it was delicious in a Dutch crunch. Bread was crunchy but soft just perfect. Wife had an Italian sandwich which was so full of meat and peoperocinis and other stuff she could only eat half. My daughter and husband shared a chicken parm sandwich and the Corti special which you pick bread and veggies and they put whatever meat they want. Kids loved their sandwiches and next time I am in Sac area I will definitely get the parm sandwich which was delicious. Very cool place and excellent service and the cost of the sandwiches???? "Forget about it"!!!! Wow so inexpensive would happily pay double and usually do at most other Deli's we have been to with half the flavor or size than this place. What a neighborhood gem, so jealous!

What a beautiful store! Came for a sandwich and was impressed. Ordered the Corti special and added sprouts and avocado. Came out to $12.99 and it was worth it. The sandwich is fresh and portions are generous. Highly recommend.

This was my first time at Corti while visiting town and I loved it! The store has long history from the 1940s and it's good to see it still standing and thriving. I came to get one of the deli sandwiches and it didn't disappoint. The sandwich bar was busy but they had an efficient system that kept things moving along. The sandwich was delicious and fairly priced. The grocery store had your usual products plus some specialty items, but I didn't really shop for those so I can't speak to the prices compared to more chain stores.

    Spicy molinari
    Andrew I.

Stopped by to grab sandwiches post hike as I heard this was a SAC staple. We got the spicy molinari and the Tuscany. The descriptions sounded good, both sandwiches sounded flavorful and spicy. However, taste wise we didn't get much (the Tuscany had sun dried tomato pesto and the molinari had mayo with spicy salami). The bread used was ok, not much of a crunch. I will say you do get what you pay for in terms of protein. But it's almost too much, like I need a sip of water in between bites. If you want quantity you will get that here, but falls short flavor wise. Ask for extra sauce on the side and see if that helps.
