I love this place so much. As often as I can (which is starting to become every weekend), I drive here from Roseville to pick up a Corti special and some other goodies. The Corti Special only costs $8.50 and is loaded with meats, cheese, and toppings of your choice. I always do Dutch crunch, they have a really fantastic Dutch crunch roll that isn't too sweet like some others. The sandwich is massive and tastes so good. I also usually pick up some of their raviolis. The beef ravioli is really good, as well as the mushroom and chicken and pancetta raviolis. They have some inter sting/unique stuff in general. It seems that the highlight is by far the deli counter. People are picking up sandwiches like me, but also lots of people buying their prepared foods. I have yet to do that but I'll definitely have to. I love the old school vibe too. The employees are super friendly and It's a very "everyone knows everyone" type of place. It seems like some of the workers have been there for decades. You just don't get that many places anymore. If you head out there on a weekend get there early. During summer even getting your sandwich order in just before 11am is too late and you'll be waiting for 30 mins. I don't remember exactly what meats were in my first sandwich, but I definitely enjoyed that one more. Been hearing from countless people how great Corti Brothers sandwiches are. I've been to this specialty market a few times for random things. Most recently was a bourbon release and then a Wolfburn whiskey release. Couldn't get the bourbon as they sold out while I was still in line but oh well. Was on the way to Folsom and stopped here for lunch with my wife. First off the ordering procedure was easy enough for a first timer without too much instruction. Fill out a sandwich form and deposit in the tray. Simple as that. A lot of people were waiting for their sandwiches. I noticed late that there was an online ordering set up as well. Wait wasn't too bad at all even with the crowd waiting for their sandwich order. On to the sandwich. We ordered a Corti Brothers special. Why not right? It's their name sake sandwich and we figured great for a first time. Our chances were Dutch crunch, no tomatoes but all of the other veggies add jalapeños. The sandwich comes with a sandwich maker's random meat choice from my understanding and whoever made our sandwich knew what they were doing. Prosciutto, salami, turkey, and a few other Italian meats that honestly I couldn't remember how to spell but were great. The whole sandwich fed me and my wife easily making us full. I've been to Corti bros a few times and gotten the same sandwich each time- the chicken parm. Contrary to what some might think the basil pesto goes really well on the sandwich and makes an excellent flavor combination with the marinara and mozzarella cheese. It's one of my favorite dishes so i recommend this sandwich. Great bread too. I've been coming to Corti's so long, I still remember when they had a store where market Square at Arden fair is now. I loved their Folsom Boulevard store. All kinds of groceries, meat, produce, lots and lots of imported items. My sister up in Redding loves this Italian flour, and I always get her a bag when she needs one. They have lots of different olive oil, and other Italian imports. Before my mom passed away, I would buy her cans of imported anchovies here. Their deli is top notch. Loads and loads of cheeses, cold cuts, domestic and imported. You need it, you can probably find it here. Their sandwiches are amazing. My favorite sandwich is the Corti special. It's huge, and it's fun. You pick the bread, you pick the veggies, you pick the condiments, they pick the meat. I can never finish a whole sandwich, I can only get through half at a time .. My favorite deli in San Francisco before they closed, was "Panelli Brothers, and they sold what was called, a "Panelli whatever.". Same concept. The special takes me right back to that. Finally got the opportunity to try this place out and just wanted to leave some tips: If you want a corti special, DO NOT CHOOSE ANY MEAT THAT YOU WANT. I chose that i wanted liverwurst bc i assumed most people dont want that, so i got a liverwurst only sandwich. I thought they would do liverwurst and add other meats. Wouldn't be bad if the liverwurst wasnt so bland and had some flavor. My wife ordered the French bistro and circled ham....she got two sandwiches. One French bistro and one ham sandwich so we ended up with three sandwiches. The value is at least there....you can get filled up with half a sandwich. The liverwurst was saved by me mixing it with the ham sandwich. Worker was a little lazy and didn't cut the sandwich all the way through on 2 out of the 3 sandwiches and bc the crust is so thick, we ended up ripping one bread awkwardly. Specialty grocery store and deli with very decent prices. You can find all things Italian as well as exotic mushrooms here. The deli sandwiches is where it's at though, and there's always a long line. The sandwiches are so loaded! You get the order sheet to the left side of the deli and put your form in the basket. Then walk around the store and pick up delicious cheeses, charcuterie meats, snacks, and fresh pasta. Their ravioli is pretty famous and reminds me of an upgraded version of the nostalgic soft, square beef raviolis that I grew up eating. If you don't want to commit to the entire box of take-home ravioli, you can buy it by smaller tubs from the deli. After 20-30 mins, your sandwich should be ready for pickup. The workers there are so friendly and provide great service. They genuinely seem to like their jobs. We got one guy helping us out from one end of the deli to the other end and he was so patient and happy the entire time. There was a sweet lady handing out cheese samples as well. Everything I tried was so delicious. I especially loved how thin they slice the charcuterie meats where they are translucent when held up to the light. My friend and I came here on June 17th around 9:15 a.m. not going to lie we were captured by the multiple Instagram posts from different individuals we follow talking about how amazing the sandwiches were here and since we were in the area we told ourselves why not buy it now and we could have it for lunch later. So that's exactly what we did. For my sandwich I chose the Corti special. Basically you're able to choose your bread the toppings and some of the other condiments but you are not able to choose your mean. The person making your sandwich decides what they're going to put in it based on the different toppings and condiments you add to your sandwich. I will say that the service was quite quick there were four other people ahead of me and I will say I probably got my sandwich within 7 to 9 minutes. This was perfect time for me because I had never been to this specialty store before so I took that time to browse the area and the different aisles to understand what were some of the things sold there. I will say the space was surprisingly filled with items that were extremely high quality but reasonably priced. Also all the individuals working there were quite friendly they said hi and asked if I needed any help or assistance multiple times from different people. Now the sandwich itself I will say it did live up to the hype that was being tossed around all of Instagram. It was just so high quality when it came to the ingredients the bread was super fresh and each bite just had the perfect balance of meat to bread to condiment ratio. I really like shopping at Corti Brothers. They have so many unique things that you don't find at every grocery store, and even their baked goods are unique and really good quality. They have fresh-baked bread, delicious New York cheesecake, chocolate cake, banana chocolate chip bread, and so many other goodies. They also have a great selection of Italian foods and specialty items. It is definitely on the expensive side, and I don't think I've ever spent less than $80 when I shop here, but I feel it's worth it every time. We were able to make an order online, and pick it up in exactly 30 mins, which was perfect! When we arrived, I immediately knew the sandwiches were going to be great. Was hanging out with my oldest for the afternoon and went to get a sandwich. Not from the area so I checked YELP and found Corti Brothers store and said the food pics looked good and decided to give them a try. When you enter the store the deli counter is to the left. You begin your order by filling out a small piece of paper which tells the sandwich makers what to put on your sandwich. Once your selections are made place the paper on a small black plate at the end of the counter right next to where you filled out order sheet. I usually go with a turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich with pepper jack for the cheese. They have all of the usual fixings expected at a deli shop. Just circle what you want and wait for them to call your name. What made the sandwich stand out was the generous portion size and the fresh bread. The Dutch crunch actually crunched!!! If I could rate "Corti Brothers" specifically on their sandwiches/cold cuts/cheeses alone, they would unanimously receive an easy five-star rating from me. I would even go the extra mile to give it higher stars if Yelp allowed it. But since I will be rating the entire grocery store as a whole, then this review still deserves the praise and recognition it deserves at a respectable four-stars. This is the most iconic and well known family grocery store in Sacramento. Established in 1947 and located directly on Folsom Blvd/59th St in the heart of East Sacramento, Corti Brothers has been a staple and at this point a landmark much like the State Capitol building and Tower Theater. Ever since I've relocated to the Sacramento area back in 2001, I've been here a handful of times. Store hours are much more scaled down than lets say a "Raley's" and "Nugget" as they are open Monday-Saturday from 9am-7pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm. However, it has been awhile since I've been here so why not give everyone an in-depth review of what this place is all about. The exterior signage is as vintage as you will find with the business name in red letters on the building as well as a 50-foot sign that screams nostalgia. The parking lot is small but does wrap around towards 59th St which is ideal for the busier days. Finally, they do offer outdoor seating which I believe has stuck around for a few years but not quite sure of the exact date when this was implemented. When you step inside, you will see rows upon rows of food, beer/wine, and produce. In addition to the vast amounts of items, many are exclusive to Corti Bros. They offer a lot of local food vendors as well as some of the top shelf labels all of which are priced significantly higher than some of the major competition out there. However, I would say that the candy, soda, pasta, rice, tea, olive oils, nuts, jams, honey, spices, and much more offer some of the best only comparable to some of the high end grocery stores in San Francisco, most notably "Mollie Stones" and "Andronico's". However, the real gem here is their deli as it tops anywhere I've been to, at least in the greater Sacramento area. Before I get into the vast sandwich choices, they carry an extensive amount of gourmet cheeses, olives, breads, and cold cuts. And we're talking Hot Italian Coppa, Mortadella, Prosciutto di Parma, Capocollo, a vast amount of salamis, and a nice variety of turkey, roast beef, ham, and pastrami. The bread selection here is decent but just can't rival the top bakeries in San Francisco. As I mentioned, the deli alone is worth the experience all in itself. But do prepare yourself for quite a bit of a wait during the busy lunch rush times (11:30am-1:30pm). Finally, this takes us to their popular sandwiches. You have a couple of options as you can place your order ahead via-online (highly recommended) or at the deli. This is where you walk up to the ordering area, grab a paper order form and write down what you want. You then timestamp it and put it in the basket. Everything here moves quick but I do have to say that the employees work at warp speed in getting their sandwiches out in a very quick and timely manner. I chose the #1 popular sandwich, the "Corti Special"; this includes their own selected meats with all the fixins that you want. And at $8.49 for a HUGE sandwich, this is still one of the best deals in town. You also have the option of getting pre-made Corti Specials in the grab-and-go area but those sometimes run out (due to supply and demand). I will say that the Corti Special absolutely hit the spot all the high notes in every way possible. I chose the soft sour bread and this was baked to perfection. The amount of meat they include inside was extraordinary while everything else was balanced out to perfection. In other words, this is what a sandwich SHOULD look like! All in all, "Corti Brothers" is a place everyone should check out; whether you're a local (like myself) or an out-of-towner. The rest of the food items ain't cheap but service and selection is top notch. As long as this business keeps doing what they're doing, they will stick around for awhile. read more

Feeling bamboozled They posted the past few days on their social media that they had 268 bottles. Come to find out, 122 were already reserved (while I was in line since 8:15am, opens at 9a), and the amount of bottles being reserved were increasing as I had waited. Strange. Walk ins were told they had priority? Why would they promote this information on social media with influencers and not deliver as they stated? How does one even reserve a bottle? I finally got to try a sandwich from here! It's crazy because i used to work right in the parking lot next to them. I was so glad to find they have online ordering. Bread was crunchy but soft just perfect. Wife had an Italian sandwich which was so full of meat and peoperocinis and other stuff she could only eat half. My daughter and husband shared a chicken parm sandwich and the Corti special which you pick bread and veggies and they put whatever meat they want. It was recently recognized by USA Today as one of the top grocery stores for food tourism, and it's easy to see why. Their fresh-baked artisan bread is another highlight. Be sure to walk through every aisle as there are plenty of great finds throughout the store. Fast-forward to the present day, YouTube suggested that I watch an influencer's review on Corti Brothers' sandwiches. After watching the well-orchestrated review, I was sold on trying their highly sought-after sandwiches. Unfortunately, I was not present when my wife picked up our sandwiches; therefore, I cannot speak to the customer service experience. However, she did mention that they had good customer service; and even though they were busy, their ordering mechanism made for an efficient experience. Since this was our first time having on e of their sandwiches, my wife chose the Spicy Molinari sandwich option (they also provide a build-your-own option) for the two of us. I tried to hide my excitement as she entered our home with the coveted sandwiches in hand. I definitely see why there is so much hype over these sandwiches, they are absolutely delicious! From the buttery taste of the bread, to the fresh produce (not all sandwich spots use fresh produce), down to the quality of the cheese...you could tell that this sandwich was handcrafted with love! I only had two complaints (I'm using the word lightly in this case)...one being that the sandwich had no hint of spiciness (maybe my tolerance is too high?) and two being that the sandwich was fairly small (can we have size options please?). We're regulars at Corti Brothers. We have items that we always get with our shopping like deli meats and cheeses, some of their sausages. grated parmesan cheese, perogies, and some of their canned items. We also have items that we love but we don't get every time, like their hanger steak, sandwiches, some of their prepared sides, and seasonal produce. When we host parties it's all about the cheese section- they have a great selection and you can pair it with some of the prepared items like their spinach dip for some great bites with crackers or chips. The beer section, wine section, and liquor sections have an awesome variety and you'll be able to find something for everyone. I love that their mixers and drink ingredients are well stocked too, so you can get creative at home. It can get busy during peak times and the parking lot can fill and the lines can get longer. Their staff is really great at getting through the rush, but be ready for a wait if it's after work or a weekend. They do have some tables outside if you decide to get their prepared food, and I highly recommend getting their sandwiches. read more

Recently visited after not visiting for awhile now, and they were still of top quality. They did not disappoint at all. We went on a weekday and visited for their sandwiches. My partner and I shared the roast beef and pastrami sandwich. Good enough to share. Ordering has became for simplified and convenient. If you know what you're ordering ahead of time you can order online! If not, they have a paper system on which you can order in store. Corti Bros does all the little things right. The store is always clean, the shelves are well stocked and front-faced, and I've never noticed dusty or neglected products. Their selection is smaller than most grocery stores, but they still seem to have everything I need. I've actually started to prefer having fewer choices, especially when I know the products have been carefully selected. I can't think of anything I've bought here that has disappointed me. The employees are professional and take their jobs seriously. It feels like the kind of grocery store that still believes it has to earn your business by providing quality products and good service. It's definitely more expensive than a typical grocery store, but I don't mind paying a little more for the experience. For me, it's worth it, and I'm glad Sacramento still has a place like this. read more

This was my first time at Corti while visiting town and I loved it! The store has long history from the 1940s and it's good to see it still standing and thriving. I came to get one of the deli sandwiches and it didn't disappoint. The sandwich bar was busy but they had an efficient system that kept things moving along. The sandwich was delicious and fairly priced. The grocery store had your usual products plus some specialty items, but I didn't really shop for those so I can't speak to the prices compared to more chain stores. read more

Corti Brothers has been around for almost 80 years and is an East Sacramento staple! My family and I stopped into Corti Brothers to pick up some groceries and items for dinner over the weekend. We don't shop here very often because they are on the pricer side, but they have an amazing extensive wine and cheese selection - they even have employees that work exclusively in the wine section. Their beer section is impressive too as well as their pasta and produce. We're also a fan of their Grab and Go section and they're made to order sandwiches! Ahh, their sandwiches are so good. Their Italian cookies, candies and bread too - chef's kiss! We picked up their made in house frozen raviolis and sauce along with a nice sourdough and it made for the perfect dinner - $10 for 36 fresh bite size raviolis is a pretty good deal...I could see us definitely buying this again! Overall, the staff is nice and helpful, but there's always a smell when you walk in - maybe it's the butcher? The store is always clean and organized too.
