Each taco had a healthy portion of meat, along with fresh toppings and homemade tortillas (both flour and corn). The pork tacos were my personal favorite. Everything was a hit outside of the queso. It got so hard so fast and it was not standard cheese. When you went to scoop your chip, it kept cracking and was not flavorful. Each taco was about $5 (pricy end for the size of taco), but definitely worth it. Will definitely come back again.

Their IPA is top notch, with a great, bright hoppy feel, and their amber was a great balance of a bit of sweetness and a bit of hoppy bitterness. I also had a taste of their Double IPA, which was excellent, but a bit high on the ABV for me that night! The rest of their menu looks great, too -- a lot of solid, classic styles, with a focus on really solid traditional brewing. I'm from Austin, which has a brewery on every street corner, and Oil Horse would be a strong contender here. The location itself is also phenomenal -- a beautiful corner shopfront with windows all around in an historic building, with a great interior and a stage for a band. The place was packed while an acoustic duo was playing and the vibe was great, and Michael behind the bar was a lot of fun to chat with and he was amazing at working the room, making sure everyone was happy and getting to know all his customers. I've known this storefront for years as it transitioned from one short-lived thing to another, but I've always thought something like Oil Horse should find a home here, and now they have. Longview has long deserved a good microbrewery, and Oil Horse has filled that niche with aplomb.

The main issue was the ordering process--it was frustrating from start to finish. I was trying to place a group lunch order, and one person requested a turkey burger. Apparently, only select Rotolo's locations offer that item, and Longview wasn't one of them. It would be helpful if the menu was consistent across all locations, or at least clearly marked to show which items are location-specific. Getting in touch with the Longview location was also a challenge. I tried calling multiple times, even just 10 minutes before opening, and couldn't get anyone to pick up. If you're a restaurant that handles lunch orders, it would make sense to have someone available a bit earlier to take phone calls and prepare for the day. I even contacted the Tyler location hoping they could assist since I was driving and trying to place the order remotely, but they told me they couldn't help with orders for another location. For a chain restaurant, there should be a better system in place--one where locations can at least support each other or help facilitate orders if needed. Eventually, I was able to reach the Longview store and place the order, but the whole process was inefficient and unnecessarily stressful, especially for something work-related. There's definitely room for improvement when it comes to communication, consistency, and overall coordination between locations.
