As we walked in, I quickly understood why the restaurant was so busy. A small family diner consisting of two rooms and a kitchen visible in the back, the Wood Shed immediately showed its charm and I felt very welcome. You seat yourself after ordering from a menu on the wall consisting of plenty of options for anyone who loves good food. I wasn't super hungry, so I got a regular brisket sandwich and a side of potato salad for under $10. I paired it with their homemade spicy BBQ sauce that was sitting at the table and it was so good!! It was very simple, like BBQ should be, so be prepared if you're looking for a finer dining experience. The restaurant had an environment that makes you feel at home, with family photos of the owners on the walls surrounded by cute and quirky barbecue themed decorations. Everyone we met was so kind and welcoming and I can't wait for the opportunity to return.

The meat was on the dry side but there's sweet and spicy sauces available on the tables. The baked beans were spicy to our liking. The staff was welcoming and very helpful.

The food was nearly inedible for my taste. Fried chicken along with the fried fish, and ribs were way too rough. Almost like they've been sitting out since their lunch rush that couldn't finish the batch. I opted for items that needed to be fried to make sure I had no need to be "indisposed" but even those items were not edible. I really wanted to like this place but after one dish, I seriously couldn't even. Others noticed at my party and although I tried to play it off that I was too enamored with issues that were out of my control with work, I very much did chew and discarded food. The only items that I liked were the steamed white rice, honey (no walnut) shrimp, and crab Rangoon.
