I'm giving it 1 star only because I am required to give at least 1 star in order to give a review. The server was absolutely lost when taking our order. Do a second server came and took our appetizer and drink order. Guess what? He got the drinks wrong and the appetizers wrong. Then, the margarita was probably the worst margarita I've ever had. I didn't even drink 1/4 of it. Super sweet with a tangy aftertaste. Then came the food order... my friend had the steak fajita, dry and bland (pic for reference). I ordered the carne Asada... driest piece of flavorless meat I've ever had cross my pallet. Not eating it either. The only thing positive what came from this dining experience was the shot of tequila I had. Worst. Dining. Experience. Ever. Oh, and I still paid the bill and left a 20% tip because while my review is harsh, I'm not an *** hole. read more

Food is always great. Chips and salsa can't be beat!! One of the cleanest restaurants in town!!!

I had a decent chicken fajita chimichanga here with my family for dinner. The service was prompt, the restaurant was clean, and we received our food quickly. I really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa and the queso dip we ordered was super yummy! The fajita chimichanga was just okay. The way it was rolled resulted in a high soggy to crispy tortilla ratio. My friend ordered the street tacos, which looked delicious. She gave them high marks, so that's what I will try the next time I make a visit to El Sol. read more

The food here has always been fantastic, every visit. The service leaves a little to be desired. From the host that seems as if she is being bothered to seat you to the male server I've had each time I've been there just not being friendly AT ALL and seeming to hurry us along. It may just be cultural differences. The service is prompt and I've never had an issue with anything I've ordered. Found my spot in Pine Bluff! I love me some Mexican food, and El Sol absolutely hits the spot for me. Not only good food, but the interior was nice, vibrant and festive. Very bright and cheerful. Friendly and quick service too, which is a plus! For food, we got the tamales and they were yum! Beef enchiladas, yum! Beans, yum! Rice had lima beans in them, but otherwise fine. Only thing I didn't prefer was the texture of the guacamole - it was puréed. Oh, and the street tacos and carnitas - a must get! Definitely a better than average place. We're definitely coming back here next time we're in town. read more

Came in today for a small filling meal, and that's what I got! I got the quesa birrias and my husband got the chicken and steak fajitas and we had no complaints. Everything was seasoned and cooked well, and came out pretty fast too. Service was great, they checked up on everything and were very welcoming. read more

This is definitely good Tex mex food. I had a chicken chimichanga with rice , beans, cheese sauce on the side. The cheese sauce is amazing here! The chicken is all shredded white meat ! To start this is the first restaurant in the Pine Bluff area where the hostess (Manager) was rude. She was upset because I wanted a booth. I am the paying customer right? Customary stale chips and sweet tasty salsa. Quality heavy silverware. None of the cheap bendable stuff. Food quality was good. Comparable to most other Mexican restaurants. Eating Mexican food in Arkansas can be risky, no doubt. However, if the people working at said Mexican restaurant are, say, themselves Mexican, then the food should be good no matter where the restaurant is located. This is the case with El Sol. First of all, the location is great. When I'm in town, I stay at the Holiday Inn Express across the street, so I can literally walk across the street for dinner. Secondly, El Sol serves BEER! And in Pine Bluff, this is a biggie. It's nice to know that I don't have to go to Chili's just to enjoy a cold beverage in a frosty mug. And, the food is pretty good. Would I give this place 4 stars if it were in Austin? Probably not. But in relation to the other options, shoot...I almost want to give it 5 stars. There's really nowhere I'd rather eat in Pine Bluff than El Sol. Try the shrimp taco salad or the beef tacos. I've tried lots of other items on the menu--all of them good. You can't really go wrong. Unless you go to Chili's. read more

Great Tex-Mex food! Quick service as well. The kids declared the cheese dip "the best ever" and the salsa was tasty with just a touch of heat. I don't generally like red sauce much, but decided to try theirs and was very happy with that decision. It was very tasty as well. I've always loved the bright and lively energy of the place in general. The hostess (which I think may have been manager) was attentive but not friendly or interactive, same with staff. That's what's lacking to make this a 5 star dining place. The food overall was good and the price was even better . Pine Bluff is not known for its food. El Sol is not the best mexican food I've ever had, but it is decent. I haven't eaten anything that I didn't like. When trying to find a good Mexican restaurant, it's best to just drive until you find one. But in Pine Bluff, you better have a phone book or Yelp handy. To my knowledge, there are only three Mexican joints in Pine Bluff. I decided to give this one a try as it it right off the interstate, and I was already in the area. The inside was clean, orderly and brightly lit. The decor is what you would expect to see in a Mexican restaurant. Shortly after sitting down I ordered my drink. Along with my drink were some chips and salsa. Fresh warm chips and some salsa with a kick. Perfect way to start off a Mexican dinner. I ordered the carnitas platter with corn tortillas. While waiting for my food, I indulged on the chips and salsa. Probably should've held off a little bit, as my meal was a large portion. Easily a dinner and lunch-next-day size. I did have to wait a while as they were busy, but their happy hour is from 5-9, which is when they close, so enjoy your experience. The price, by far, made up for it though. Everything together and I paid $13 including tip. Not a bad dinner in my book. read more

I usually come here with my friends but after my last visit I will be searching for a new place to eat Mexican food! Waiter got our order wrong and then tried to charge us. He was very rude and seemed annoyed by us. Staffers there really gave us a hard time when the problem could have been fixed easily with a "sorry ma'am what would you like instead". How about they train the workers to write down their orders instead of blaming the paying customers. Really did not appreciate the horrible customer service there. The food was cheap but not something you can't live without. With that being said this restaurant won't be missed. read more

Not a typical 4 star, but this is Pine Bluff Arkansas and there is NOTHING here but fast food and what may be the worst Chili's in America. This place is clean, fast service, cold beer, and good salsa! Less than $11 for fajitas so this place is very affordable. Quiet and quaint, if you find yourself in Pine Bluff this is the spot. Bar drinks are happy hour prices pretty much all day and you can tell by the number of locals here that this is the place to go. read more
