It doesn't look like anything remarkable from the outside, or the inside for that matter, but the food is definitely outstanding!! I've only eaten here twice but both times the food was great. At the most recent visit I had the pulled pork sandwich + Mac n cheese. WOW! The pulled pork was so yummy I almost didn't need the sauce. However, I tried the BBQ sauce & it was unlike any BBQ sauce I've ever had & it was delicious! Sweet & tangy! Undescribable, really. I was asked if I wanted the slaw on my sandwich and I asked for it on the side. It too was unlike any slaw I've ever had. So good!! The Mac n Cheese was also great. Warm & filling. Perfect accompaniment. I highly recommend Kibby Cobb Deli.

The Rubin is off the charts. It's warm and fresh every time I ordered the Rubin. Fresh ingredients perfect for lunch. The service is amazing, it's so busy at lunch time, how they do it and get everything right beats me. I don't drink but Kibby is huge on the different kinds of beer and liquor it stocks. Well... just spent $8.99 for an apple and celery bagel sandwich. SMH. This was supposed to be a "Chicky Sandwich" bagel sandwich. The question is, THE CHICKEN?! Yes, I'm salty. To charge $8.99 for apples and celery is disgusting. Come on, Kibby Cobb, do better than this. Yep, I was ripped off. Definitely would NOT recommend the Chicky Salad Bagel Sandwich. read more

They have an excellent deli - all fresh made with an open kitchen so you can watch the prep of your food, which I prefer - attached to a local quick stop with all of your convenience needs. Plenty of shopping do you can stop order & shop some cute little boutiques or grab a beer at the excellent brewery at the end of the plaza. Great place - excellent people read more

I was surprised by how enjoyable this blink-and-you-miss-it deli/liquor store was. You can hit this on your way back to Jackson from the Horton Road area. Their wine and liquor selection is impressive for the area, as it engulfs over 3/4s of the store. In particular, there's a whole section for moonshine and imported hard liquors. The Michigan wine options are surprisingly limited, but the national and imports selection is varied. The deli area is great. The available sandwiches are pretty much deli standards (Ruben, Italian, etc.), but they're definitely a cut above the normal fast food sandwich fare. Many of the meats and cheeses are locally sourced. read more

Recently visited after 5.5 years away from Jackson. I'm happy to see this has been able to stick around. I had the delicious tomato soup and tomato basil bagel with cream cheese to dunk in the soup. Don't knock it till you try it. Also got got yummy rice pudding. Everything our group ordered was great!! read more

I shop at Kibby Cobb liquor and deli and KIBBY RD because I'm only two blocks away and I'd love the people I enjoy the prices and the food is very fresh and that is prepared in a timely manner I have gotten to be a regular because of being so close to the store only thing I desired if they had a delivery service because I have a very unpredictable illness and some days I cannot get out and drive but I love the kitty cat and thanks tiny and Ride and Stephanie and Sarah Robyn and Stephanie thank you so much for your service Annette B Potts read more

Simply awesome selection of beer, wine, and liquor. If you don't see what you'd like, ask for it and they can normally have it for you in a few days. They stock keg beer and can order whatever your flavor is if it's not in stock. Don't miss the deli in the back. Bar cheese and garlic toast is always available. Get the Ruben sandwich for a quick lunch, definitely my favorite. Many other choices. Staff knowledgeable on liquor and beers. If you can't decide what to buy, ask them fora recommendation. read more

Great wine selection. If you are looking for something hard to find, chances are they have it. The owner is very nice and if you need any advice he wants to help you. Everyone else that works there is not friendly and I am hesitant to ever go back because the rest of the staff is so horrible. The other positives are they have make your own 6 pack and a great snack area. They also have a deli that they can make sandwiches. I haven't had a chance to try bit they always smell great. They have an atm if you need I one too. It's nice to have a liquor store in summit township. Negatives include the staff, as mentioned, and there is usually only one person staffed so if you're in a hurry, there might be a wait. read more

I can't list all of my favorites. The wine & liquor selection are unmatched. the staff is super knowledgable & very courteous, they have even helped me carry a large order out to my car. As people know in the Jackson area, good restaurants are slim to none. While our sandwiches were fine, they are just way overpriced for the portion. We had an Italian-it was very greasy. It might be better to try the bagels by themselves or with cream cheese-maybe another time but this is off the beaten path. Plenty of booze in the front of the store to choose from. read more

Wow this place is 10 out 10. We come up from Kentucky and have to get a bagel as soon as we get here. Love the bird sauce and pretty much everything on the menu. I would show you a picture of what I got but I ate it too fast haha. read more

Kibby Cobb is really a hidden deli in the cascades area. This place is a gem. Love the guys who work there. Rodney is a really cool guy. Love all the options of drinks along with the food. We had the delicious opportunity to eat sandwiches from Kibby Cobb last Friday. I can't say enough good things about the sandwiches. We took them to go and they were wonderful one hour later when we got to Lansing. The bread was sturdy but flavorful. I had a sandwich with turkey, avocado, lettuce and tomato. It was wonderful. My husband had the italian on a ciabatta bun and it was excellent. The chocolate chip cookies were homemade and as good as Grandma's. The beer selection was extensive. A lot of good Stone and Coronado choices. What a treasure this place is. read more

We just found this hidden gem today! I looked in every direction and decided to drive to East Lansing as my corned beef withdrawal pains were getting worse. Stateside Deli sits in a shopping plaza a few miles southeast from MSU. When we arrived both booths and tables were available just after the lunch rush. Just guessing, i'd say there are between 25-30 tables and booths. Even though I didn't need to, I studied the menu knowing that I would probably only get corned beef or pastrami. The soups however looked great as well. I ordered my corned beef extra lean partially as a test and mostly because that is how I like it. Served on toasted rye, that' is exactly how it came. My first bites were euphoric. It only got better. My wife ordered half a sandwich (tuna melt on wheat) along with matzah ball soup. She loved hers as well. I can tell because both the bowl and plate were empty when she was done. She will often not finish if the food is "just OK" Service was excellent and "seamless". One server saw my drink almost empty and quickly returned with another. Another server asked if we needed anything as she was walking by. Our server also kept checking with us to see if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our lunch. If this is the closest deli, so be it. We will be back as often as practical. Only drawback is the hour drive each way and approximately $28 worth of gas.

The bagels are good but he ready to pay 2.00 extra for butter, they include that the same as cream cheese. The rude overrated queen with the beard is a total ass too. He shouldn't be in customer service, should be on a dock somewhere or a trashman. Will never ever go again, he's a total loser & gives this place a horrible reputation. read more

I feel Kibby Cobb has a great Shorty's Rueben and good beer prices. The beer selection is vast and the ability to mix and match 6-packs means you can experience more for less. Also, they have good customer service and are knowledgeable about there product. read more

Deli is very good. Try the yuppie. Also, there is an excellent wine selection. They also occasionally have golumpki or pulled pork sandwiches that you can order for the weekend. Both are very delicious and good to eat. read more

Awesome beer selection. Great deli, love the golumbkis. These guys know how to run a neighborhood store. Forget Super Liquor, Kibby has all the good beers, wines, liquors and they're right on the way home. read more

During my girls childhood, for 20 years I always ordered their birthday Cakes from Polly's, on Ferguson Road. What was so special? One could order Disney Characters on the cake, my daughter's favorite photo, a creamy whipped topping that wasn't terribly sweet. Much of the rest of the store allotted space for new or traditional world wide cuisine. It always had unique items. My younger daughter, whilst in her teens, refused to eat sandwiches without sprouts. Polly's, had them when no one else did. What more can I say? The best thing is to get off the couch in this icy cold weather, and take a trip to one of three Polly's locations.

Emily, said waitress, CLEARLY had no time to wait on women whom she felt for some reason were not worth her time nor the generous tip she would have received had she not acted like she was in a hurry to get rid of said customers. She did just that when she realized she had screwed up but wanted to assume zero accountability. Thank you, Olivia, for taking over. Training tip: Emily might be young and BLONDE, but elders sisters are more experienced and might teach her a thing or two. A few crow's feet does not make us insignificant nor unempowered. Men who objectify you are not the only ones who tip. How does this reviewer know? Because 40 years ago another older woman taught her this lesson when she had made the same mistake.
