Kibo doesn't miss - good quality sushi for a great price. The sushi was made quickly, and staff were very kind. Tempura was delicious. Easy to visit in Etobicoke and very tasty!

Unfortunately wasn't able to get counter seating but we were still able to enjoy the food up close and the theatre from afar. I like how they have different menus, so we upgraded from the standard one to get one with wagyu and the other with sashimi. Standouts for me were: - Wagyu Sukiyaki: melt in your mouth wagyu, perfectly salty-sweet sukiyaki - Tuna Tartare: best mouthful of the night - Scallop: plump and juicy - Saba Noodle: the little shrimps added a nice texture - Yuzu Sorbet: refreshing end to the meal - Plum Wine: excellent companion to the meal Place is small but well laid out so you don't feel cramped. Service and prices are expectedly high. Master chef had a playful energy. Overall, can see why this place has set the omakase standard for years.

Etobicoke is a bit far away, but this place is worth it. Cannot emphasize enough how delicious everything was, and there were almost 20 courses so it definitely fills you up. Even the dessert was so good, cannot imagine how well the frozen blueberries and cheese go together! Chef Kaji is also very playful with our handrolls. Everyone was really nice as well.

After visiting a haunted house, Martino…read moreManor some friends and I decided to look for a place with small bites to fulfill our peckishness--standing in the cold for over an hour really encouraged hunger After looking on google we settled on heading to Nobuya and to our surprise it was a very cute shop. Known for their ramen (which we did not have as we had dinner previously, but we will definitely come back to try). Instead we feasted on small plates, Japanese poutine (which was not small but shareable), karage, matcha cheesecake and yatsuhashi. We got there after 9pm, at the time only one other table was occupied but it is only a 4 table shop so it is very quaint and personable. The Leafs game was on, a few Toronto team sports memorabilia donned the wall by the TV, a soccer jersey hung which gave it a bit more character ... I love the idea of being able to watch sports and snack on yummy delicious snacks. It is a great place to hang out and chat with friends, maybe even a date The dishes were great. We were happy, warm and full! On top of it all the chef had comr over to chat with us too, he introduced us to the yatsuhashi and we learned he has beem operating for 8 years. The name, Nobuya stands for his name and 'ya' means store. We cant wait to go back and try the ramen!
