We have been going to the Mississauga location and we thought to visit the new Etobicoke location. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, it's new, shiny. It's definitely not the typical ambience you expect at a pho restaurant. The service is great. We really like the manager there. He used to work in the Mississauga location and we missed him in the OG spot. However, I would say the food isn't as good as the OG location. The pho broth isn't as flavourful, we were slightly disappointed. Overall still a great experience at this location!
The pho here was pretty good - the broth was flavourful and didn't seem to contain much MSG, and the portions were quite generous. What impressed me the most though was the level of service that the staff were able to maintain despite how busy and chaotic the restaurant was. It's popular for a reason!
Tips: - Make a reservation on Yelp. It works great, with a couple of reminders before the actual time and date. - The hours of operation are confusing and outdated on Pho Ngoc Yen's site. Google has the correct hours of operation that it's closed every Tuesday. Last Tuesday, my documentation manager of roughly fourteen years was let go of his work duties. After this bombshell landed, I went to work planning his farewell luncheon. I had 24 hours to get things done. I wish I had more time. I asked him where he'd like to go. He said Pho Ngoc Yen. The original location is roughly a six-minute drive from work. I looked at the hours of operation. It was closed on Wednesdays. This second location in Etobicoke was open on Wednesday. My manager looked at its web site. On the same page, it said that this location was both open and closed on Wednesdays. Ugh! Don't trust its online site. It's outdated. Google maps said that the hours of operation had been updated two weeks ago. I made a test reservation for six people, which was accepted for last Wednesday. I also went to its Instagram account and got a reply to my message almost immediately, confirming that it's open six days a week at the Etobicoke location, with Tuesday being their closed day. One word: Yay! My test reservation was the reservation. Six folks at noon on Wednesday. My manager wanted an intimate farewell. I respected his wish. Sadly, I got scolded by a project manager who wanted to go and kept saying that I wasn't following protocol. I will keep it simple here. I abide with what the guest of honour wants. It has nothing to do with what you want. My friend drove me and another colleague down to the restaurant. It was formerly The Grille. There was plenty of parking. My friend parked. I got a phone call from our manager. He saw my car in the parking lot and thought I was still at the office. My other colleague in the car, who has never driven me anywhere, thought that I was driving down here. I drive all the time. Folks take that for granted. It was interesting to see it happen this day. My friend was kind to give me a driving break. My manager got locked out of our office floor. He got a temporary badge instead. He was coming down soon. We went in to the eatery. I spoke to the nicest man at the podium. I said my name and my reservation time. He welcomed us and sat us at booth number 18. He asked if any of us had allergies. One colleague is vegetarian, so she let him know. Our manager, my friend, and another colleague gradually filed in. We spent a good two hours enjoying our food and company. We got hot tea to start. It was delicious. It was looseleaf tea with a ton of flavour. Staff were great refilling our teapot with hot water and catering to our needs. Highly responsive. We had menus, a pen, and a piece of paper to write down what we wanted. I started first and the ordering continued with everyone. We got these items as a group: - Lime juice soda - Large rare beef and beef ball pho - Mock beef with veggies and rice - Pad thai - Vermicelli with vegetarian spring rolls - BBQ chicken and fried egg with broken rice - Mango milkshake - Vietnamese coffee I got the first two items. The lime juice soda was excellent. I could drink jugs of it. It had the perfect tartness from the lime juice and was fizzy. It was refreshing and perfect. My go-to order is the rare beef and beef ball pho. This eatery makes the best pho broth. It was full of flavour and body. The noodles were perfect. I got a generous amount and number of rare beef and beef balls, respectively. I loved the bean sprouts, mint, and lime wedge. I squeezed the lime wedge in. My manager got mint with his pad thai. He doesn't like mint, so I took it all and added it to my pho. My pho was even better... haha! He loved his meal. It was such a large portion that he needed to box it up. My friend polished his BBQ chicken and fried egg with broken rice dish quickly. It looked like he had licked his plate clean. My other friend loved her vermicelli with vegetarian sprint rolls. It was massive that she also needed a box. Frankly, we all loved our food. The quality continues to be superb. I collected money the day before towards our manager's farewell gift. I made a brief speech, which was bittersweet. I presented a card and goodies, which he seemed touched and moved. We were able to split our bill on a Wednesday. You can't on a Friday and some other day. I paid for my meal and my manager's. The funds from everyone covered his meal. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I needed to use the washroom before heading back to work. The women's washroom was impeccably clean. No complaints here. The decor was beautiful. I like how spacious this eatery is compared to the original one. Thanks to everyone at this eatery for making my manager's farewell luncheon a memorable one with great food and drinks. So this is actually my second time coming here. The first time I ate beforehand and just came with friends. So I didn't feel qualified to leave a review. This time though, I ordered a main dish for myself. We came for dinner around 5pm and it was already really packed. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance is really beautiful and comfortable. We ordered the bun bo hue, large special beef pho, salted fried tofu, and 2 iced coffees. The bun bo hue was so delicious and hearty. It was savory, spicy and a bit tangy with a lot of umami flavor from the shrimp paste. Those who enjoy a stronger flavor would definitely appreciate this noodle dish over pho. The salted fried tofu was so delicious as well. It's crispy on the outside but very soft on the inside. It comes with a sweet and tangy type of sauce/vinegar and it comes with some veggies. It's the perfect appetizer. I didn't get to try the Iced coffee but my friends said it was strong and authentic. Overall: This place is one of favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Toronto. The food is so good! The prices aren't cheap but is definitely reasonable. NOTE: As of December 7th, 2025, they are doing a promotion for 10% off if paid with cash
Got vermicelli bowl with pork, spring roll, some veggies. It was pretty tasty. Spring roll was crunchy and filled with content. Sauce paired well with dish. As you can see it's a good amount of pork. They don't skimp on quantity. I got this take out but the place was packed when I got my order. Service was quite friendly. They gave me refills of water and were quite polite. For how busy it was, it was well maintained. Would come back if in the area
Although from the name, you would think they are famous for their Pho but it's not the case. This is a high end restaurant with decor, lot of staff to service, and a huge patio dining area. Lots of items on their menu. Since it was dinner time, we opted for most of the family style dishes with a few noodle dishes mixed in to try. Their egg rolls include a generous portion of vegetables (although good, just not my style; I prefer the Chinese style vs the Vietnamese style as they can be too dense with meat filling) The fried calamari is good, but go for their mango salad that's served with shrimp chips. Prices are reasonable and inline with other places but when you factor in their huge portion and high end service, it makes this place a bargain. If you're not accustom to traditional Vietnamese food, bring someone that is as the food can require some assembly to appreciate the flavor profile.
We haven't visited in a few months and their menu keeps growing every time! Love everything we eat here every time. Service is quick and friendly and the place is well decorated although a little loud sometimes. This is my favorite place in the area so if I'm nearby it will likely be a stop here.
Recommended! Huge interior, beautiful decor, the scent if grilled meat greets you as you near the spot. Huge portion of foods, the staffs are beautifully dressed, quick cleanup, and the food tastes great! Only feedback: 1. They have soooo many staffs just waiting that they're just too quick to remove any plates, which can borderline feels rushed, 2. If you are sat near the ends, staffs waiting to serve can feel almost hawkeyed (a hard balance I know) but I remember what the folks at another spot does well is they'll have their staffs wait discreetly and come by when it's welcomed. Overall a great spot.
This is a very popular Vietnamese restaurant in Etobicoke for a reason. Once you walk in you will notice the nice interior with huge trees and fancy tables with tablecloths on top. You order with a sheet and they tell you to write any allergies on top of the order sheet. I got the P4 (L) beef balls and rare beef and this was very good. I loved how they gave me a bunch of noodles and beef. I had a good 10+ beef balls in my pho. The rare beef they use was also very fresh (luckily the pho broth was hot enough to cook the rare beef). I really enjoyed my food today and I'd come back just for it.
This is probably my favourite Pho restaurant. Portions are HUGE and hard to finish, but everything is always so so good. The passion fruit juice is to die for.. honestly can't come here without getting one. My favourite dish here is the BBQ chicken with broken rice. They are always busy here and always kind of loud due to it being so busy, but it's still a great place to go.

Pho Ngoc Yen II is probably my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Etobicoke. The space has a welcoming atmosphere, decorated with plenty of greenery, and has a large patio that's perfect during warmer months. There is plenty of free parking on site, although the restaurant can get quite busy. On one occasion, the lot was completely full and I had to wait a bit for a spot, which speaks to its popularity. The staff are friendly and attentive, and payment is made at the front counter after your meal. One thing that sets this restaurant apart is its extensive menu. While the pho is good, there are also many other Vietnamese and Thai dishes that you don't typically find at most Vietnamese restaurants, making it a great place to explore beyond the usual Vietnamese classics. The food is consistently good, the portions are generous. This spot is definitely worth a visit! read more
Been here before. Their second location with a different type of decor. More modern. Plenty of seating. The staff there are friendly and helpful in suggesting great dishes. My go to is their chicken vermicelli. Huge portion and always great. The beef salad was delicious and flavourful. The squid pomelo salad lacked something for me. The soft-shelled crab noodle dish was unexpected with thick noodles and thick soup base. It got too salty for me. I wished it came with rice noodles. For dessert, we got sesame balls with coconut ice cream. It was ok. It felt more of a Chinese dish than Vietnamese. Overall, it was wonderful to try some new dishes with great friends. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine, you know it's real when you order by the number and/or photos of the food on the menu. The pho soup was great, not particularly a fan of the dark meat, but it was good and I'd try the beef pho next time. read more

I've been going to their original Mississauga location for years and this was my first time checking out the new spot. I'm happy to say the quality and service are just as good here. This has always been my go-to when sharing Vietnamese food with friends and family, and it's the first place I think of for group dinners because everyone always leaves happy. We ordered pho, a fried rice dish, and some Viet coffees. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and comforting. Portion sizes are generous and the price point feels very reasonable for what you're getting. I've tried a lot of pho spots in the GTA but this one always stays near the top for me. The ambiance totally matches the vibe of their original location with plants and pretty lights that make it feel warm and welcoming. Service was friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly. They're also doing a customer appreciation promo right now where you get 10% off if you pay cash. Overall, it's rare to find a place that's this consistent over the years and that's why it's always been one of my top recommendations for Vietnamese food. read more
Fancy Pho place with great ambiance and food is what Ngoc Yen II delivers. The interior has ample seating and fake trees which makes it a little bit classy (let's see if they dust the fake foliage). They have many servers so there is always someone around to help. Soup is amazing with deep beefy flavours and the amount of meat is fair. I got the shrimp and pork rolls for an appetizer and they were very fulfilling. The only downside is no on table condiments so they bring a small plate of sauces but if you wanted additional sauces you have to ask. But again - I think they wanted to keep it classier. It is a more expensive bowl of pho but the quality and ambiance is better. Great overall experience for an elevated bowl of Pho. read more
This restaurant has been nothing short of amazing, every single time we go there. I've been a little sluggish with my posts, but this is probably the fourth time I've gone, and failed to take picture of everything we ordered. The service could not be any better! They are kind and incredibly accommodating. They have a team work environment, where you can call any of the stall members and they help you, and are very polite throughout the process. I have not had such great customers service in some time, so I really do want to send a BIG THANK YOU to ALL STAFF. The restaurant is not only always clean, but such a great spot to take pictures, the booths with window seats are my favourite place to sit. We usually order a pho dish, the spring rolls and wings. Pho, I know, it sounds like such a basic item. But with pho, you can have rich flavourful broth that you know took several hours to make, or you can have something that tastes like it's from a box. This pho is definitely made with the OG back home recipe, the taste reminds me of my trip to Vietnam. It's delicate flavours infused from the bones sitting with soft spices, and fresh herbs that are giving with your noodles for you to add to the dish. The spring rolls are an absolute must if you're considering an appetizer, they are a pretty big portion (like everything else we ordered the food quantity was incredibly generous, and I hope it stays that way). The filled was fresh, and the ingredients used to make everything they served us was nothing but fresh and high quality. But I honestly can't say if there there is a choice between this item and the chicken wings, what you should order. The wings definitely are one of a kind. They are fried to perfection, the skin is crunch, and stays that way to the end of your meal, and this unique fish sauce, wow! What a creative mix of sweet and sour that so true to the region. I haven't ordered to many things from this menu, but every single item we tried really was great! Thank you again to all the staff for making us feel welcome, during our dining experience. We came here after we were craving Viet food. The portion here is very generous. My BBH had a lot of topping and meat in it. I found the flavour to be more on the lighter side. My friend ordered a large Pho, it had a great amount of meat inside. It felt like it was endless (not complaining). The food also came super fast. When we got there, we were told that their kitchen staff was on break from 3-3:30, wish they had that indicated on Google hours. The environment itself was very different. It felt like you were surrounded by trees in the restaurant. Would definitely come back to try the pho dishes. read more

Came for lunch on a Saturday and the place was busy almost immediately at opening (11:30am). The prices are a little more than your typical pho places but the service is great and the portions and amount of meat seemed more than the other places as well. Dessert (chia seeds, grass jelly ,fruit and ice cream) was a unique way to serve ice cream. Overall, good place to visit! read more

Easily the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to! The place is beautiful, and the food portions are generous. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Pho is an absolute must-- we ordered the large bowl, and it was perfect to share between two people (and we definitely eat a lot!). The mussels are incredible, with layers and layers of flavor, cooked to absolute perfection. Overall, I'd give it 100/10. I'll definitely be coming back because there are so many options to try, and I just know everything will slap! read more
Really unique Vietnamese/pho restaurant experience. The interior is very nicely decorated, with lots of trees laid out in rows between booths/table, almost seems like you're dining in a forest. We came in January and there's also a heated large outdoor patio. Service was top-notch with lots of waiters around, it's never hard to get a hold of someone and everyone is very friendly and helpful, almost like fine-dining. The menu itself is expansive with lots of options. We got the large special pho and Vietnamese spring rolls and both were super tasty. Prices tend to be more expensive than other places, but portions are large and the service is unrivalled. Definitely recommend Pho Ngoc Yen if you're in Etobicoke/Mississauga. read more

It's a nice and spacious Vietnamese restaurant with heated patio. Reservations are highly recommended since they get packed soon, specially over the weekends. If you didn't make any reservations, you can join the waitlist on your Yelp app or their iPad. We ordered B5, B8, MN15 and fries with the side of shrimp. One of these best bowls of PHO I have ever had, no lie!! And that wasn't even the best dish we ordered. Their BBQ Chicken (grilled in lemongrass) was PHO-nomenal. This place was the only thing that made us smile while our flight was cancelled at Pearson International Airport. If we come back... we will eat here EVERY...SINGLE...TIME!! read more
It was a busy Friday evening and it took about 20 mins to get a table for 4 people (best to come early or later to avoid the wait). The ambiance in there is loud and has nice decors. I got the Hu tieu aka dry egg and clear noodle with the seafood broth on the side. Personally this dish had a lot of celery which I was surprised and didn't like. The noodles were very seasoned with black pepper. There was generous of meat and the broth was a bit too salty for my liking. I didn't finished it all but it wasn't the best dish for me. My family got the bun bo hue and it was nice, a bit on the sweeter side. My sister liked it. The grilled vermicelli was a huge portion of noodle and meats. I think that was the best dish we ordered. For the prices, it's a bit higher than your usual local small pho restaurant. In my opinion, good to try it once. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

The food was overpriced for its quality. We ordered spring rolls and bun bo hue. The rolls were not freshly made. The skin tasted dry, felt like it was premade and had been suiting there for a while before serving. I'm not a stranger of pork blood as I've been eating pork blood since I was a kid. The pork blood in the bun bo hue was stale. I wouldn't mind that the food of this restaurant is on the pricier side. Wow this place blew me away! Firstly, I'm not a huge fan of Vietnamese food or pho BUT this place has made me LOVE IT!!! It's whole ambiance and atmosphere in there is beautiful, clean, and large capacity. There is a nice patio too. Their service was great very fast and very friendly. The food was all delicious. I'm craving it even the next day! And lastly, the pricing was good too. We got a ton of food as you can see in my pictures. Every dish was large in size enough to share with another person. Went back to try more of their dishes and they don't disappoint! It is a little more pricier than most Vietnamese places but it is definitely worth it. The quality and portions are amazing. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and super tasty. We got the special pho, grilled chicken vermicelli bowl and the fresh shrimp and pork rolls. Everything was delicious and we had so much leftovers for 2 people. Already dreaming about going back! read more

Recently opened, this is the second location of a very popular Vietnamese restaurant! We came here around 8pm on a Friday night. It was packed, the parking lot (free parking) was so busy, the patio and indoor seating was so busy too. Somehow, We got seated right away. The host told us that the restaurant has a very large capacity. I noticed a lot of families and large groups dining in as well. Since it was so busy nobody served us, we had to flag someone down to get menus and water. We ordered a pork vermicelli bowl with spring roll, a beef pho, and a chicken pho. We got the vermicelli within 10 minutes. Then, we waited for an additional 30 minutes until we got our pho.... i think they forgot about us The food itself was great, huge portions! My pho was a medium but it was enough for two meals. Unlike other places I've been to, they were generous with the beef. The pho broth had a stronger flavour than other places, it was more aromatic and I could taste the spices! The vermicelli was huge and came with a lot of protein and fresh salad as well. Prices for dishes are higher than other places, but the portions here are also much larger. Overall, I would say it is still affordable since two people could share one dish. Would definitely come again for the food and convenient location! I hope the service will be better once it is less busy. read more
Authentic Vietnamese cuisine. My friend recommended and took us here for dinner tonight. It is PACKED , super busy. we were told to wait 20 mins but felt like it was only 10 mins. We ordered the bun, pho and our friend got the vegetarian option vermicelli noodles. Usually for vegetarian options, it's very limited and not much veggies. But not this place, they gave a lot! They all tastes amazing. The Portions were also huge. There's always servers and managers walking around to ensure everything is ok and that you have everything you needed. read more

I was pretty disappointed when I heard that The Grille would be closing, but then I was intrigued when I read that it would be replaced by a new location of Pho Ngoc Yen. I'd been the original location a few years ago and found it quite exceptional, so my expectations were fairly high. I wasn't disappointed. We arrived right at 11:00 and were shown to a comfy booth. I knew walking in I wanted a variation on the venerable Vietnamese dish Bun, so I got the Bun Ga Nuong Thit Nuong Cha Gio ("Vermicelli with BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken and spring rolls"). It arrived a little while later and was absolutely massive. I've eaten many, many variations of this dish over the year and this might've been the biggest one yet. But how did it taste? Really, really good. The components were all above average, and the meat itself had a nice char flavor from the grill. The spring roll was a little dry, but that's a minor complaint. I'm really happy to have a Vietnamese joint this good just a stone's throw from my place. I'll absolutely be returning. read more
