Grabbed their late evening deal when it's almost closing time to go. The sushi was still very fresh and it was such a great deal. Will go back for these deals.

This Japanese cuisine franchise has landed in the Food District at Square One Shopping Centre. It has a small dine-in space, take-out counter, and also a small market. The market has a range of beverages, snacks and pantry items. Prices are a little bit more than Asian grocers like Galleria or T&T. But it is very convenient for a quick bite. The dine-in is pretty quiet. When I dined here on a Friday night, our table was the only one. Our server was great! Very friendly and helpful. He cleared our small table quickly to make room for other dishes. He also informed us that the kitchen could customize orders, which was helpful for one of our orders! The food was beautifully presented. One of the presentation flowers (a type of chrysanthemum) was edible, our server told us, it was flown in from Japan specifically for garnish and to eat! The take-out area is VERY busy. The ready-made sushi is ok. Quality is average but hits the spot as a fast food style place. My friend got the Fish Katsu, and I got the Sashimi A combo. The salad dressing was hidden at the bottom of the salad. I wasn't told it was inside, so didn't know to look for it. (They placed condiments for the Katsu clearly outside.) The miso soup was overly salty. Neither my friend nor myself could drink it all due to the saltiness. I have been here (mostly take out) many times now. And I do find some of their rolls to be not very well constructed - so be careful as some will fall apart easily. Flavour wise they are ok. Some have too much sauce and get soggy. Overall it's decent and is a great option for fast, neighbourhood sushi! Tip: come near closing time, and they have ready-made boxes on sale at 30% off! They also have a buy-3-get-1-free deal right now!

We bought this take out pack around 5:30pm and I got the spicy salmon roll because of the end of the day sale (They provide the discount). Cost only $7.51 incl. tax. It's a good deal and the quality is good. Each roll has a lot of salmon. Unfortunately, most of the rolls sold out very quickly. They provide both takeout and dine-in services. I noticed that the environment is clean, but there aren't a lot of tables available. If you go on the weekend, you may have to wait a bit for a table.

So far, every time I've went, I came during their 30% off end of day sale and was not disappointed. The sushi tastes as fresh as when I get it from other Kibo locations and they still continue to make it so people can purchase. Their spicy sauce is delicious, but all the torched sushi and chirashi Don are to die for. Highly recommend trying this mall location!

Loved the chirashi bowl from here! Everything that was in it tasted so fresh and the flavors went well together. I wasn't sure what was in the spoon at first but was pleasantly surprised. It's quite a decent amount of food as well! Coming here on a week night evening, it wasn't busy at all and there was seating available. Keep in mind that there's only a few tables to sit at if you're looking to dine in. The vibe of the food district is quite lively overall. I'd come back for some sushi any day :)

    So good I highly recommend

Japanese mini market in the food district! This place has some tasty looking goodies. Add a self serve microwave and some pastries and it's practically a Tokyo convenience store.

Excellent customer service by the staff! Your reigning champions This is a definite game changer! The one stop shop for everything from ready to eat food: gyoza dumplings, snacks, cheesecake, pastries, ice cream, drinks, etc. A sushi shop that is integrated into the supermarket with a lounge area. Excellent selection of Japanese items that are catered to everyone. I'm a regular customer, I've enjoyed my conversations with the staff. I grade them: AAAAA +++++ in my book with well recognized work ethic. 10/10: ***** ***** My appreciation for going the extra mile towards providing excellent customers service. Great atmosphere, courteous, diligent, outgoing, pleasant staff. I will continue to support & give them my business. I highly recommend this location!

On this recent visit, the space felt more modern and brighter overall. The layout is still basically the same though - the centre tables feel more open, while the side tables along the walls feel a bit more tucked away. The family I was with still comes here pretty regularly, so they knew what to order. Overall, the sushi and other dishes were solid for what they are. One thing to note is that the rolls are on the larger side with a lot of sauces and seasoning, so it leans more "Canadianized" than traditional sushi - which is great as long as that's what you're expecting to get. Service was friendly and quick too, so I'd definitely consider coming back again when I'm in the area.

I decided to order the sashimi combo (no rice) with: 6 pieces of salmon sashimi 5 pieces of Nigerian sushi 5 pieces of dynamite roll 2 pieces of Shrimp and 3 pieces of vegetable tempura This set comes with miso soup, garden salad and rice. When i read "no rice", I literally thought the made the sushi and roll with no rice. But there were rice. I don't understand why the name of this set is sashimi combo with no rice when there were so much rice involved. The fish used were nothing unique. For the price, I thought perhaps there would be a special piece to taste. There are many Japanese restaurants that i want to try, but Tomo needs that something special for me to want to go back again.

Big mistake. On Nov 25, 2025, I ordered the MC5 Maki Combo (24 pcs) -- California roll, dynamite roll, spicy salmon roll. What arrived was a disaster: tired-looking sushi, off flavors, and a wasabi that came out as a strange dark green slime. I forced down a few pieces; my wife couldn't eat hers at all. To make matters worse, I was burping an odd flavor for hours afterward. This wasn't just disappointing -- it was unacceptable. After years of giving this place chances, I'm done. Sushi should never feel like a gamble, and I won't be rolling the dice here again.

The caterpillar role is pretty fat and so each piece is a mouthful. The maki are smaller, nicely rolled, and well balanced. It's a very nice assortment. They use a good amount of topiko in the sushi, compares to some places that skimp or skip it all together. We ordered by phone and pick up was ready in under 30min. As per covid restrictions, only 1 person is allowed inside at a time. The entrance opens to a pick up window. Not much else going on inside. Very happy with the delicious meal!

The wooden chairs are heavy and not the most comfortable chair for a Japanese place. One wall has a wallpaper of cool fish and waves. Eye popping art work. The service was decent. They do not offer complimentary green tea like other Japanese places. My partner said their fish is fresh and he enjoyed his lunch meal. I got a stir-fried bulgogi set which was pleasantly good. They are celebrating their 3rd year anniversary this month, so one can get some discount on lunch specials. Overall, it was a great experience and I would go back for the food. The menu is on the pricier side but lots to try or splurge on.

The bluefin tuna was very fresh, had a great texture, and wasn't fishy at all. The toro literally melted in our mouths and sent our tastebuds back to Japan. Even the salmon belly pieces were perfectly fatty and with great textures. We just wish that these sashimi pieces were even since they're shared, lol. The sushi was overall great in rice to fish ratio, and they were actually a decent size. The aburi sushi had great char and flavor to them, and the rolls were fully loaded. We thoroughly enjoyed each bite!
