Finally tried out their dinner AYCE menu as the last time I had been to Spring Sushi was for their lunch AYCE menu which we all know is going to be more limited since the price per person is also cheaper to match that. Made a reservation for a Friday night (I think it was Friday but tbh who knows HAHA) so that I could ensure I tried as much of their offerings as I could - the caveat though was that despite the fact that their restaurant was very clearly not fully booked, they do tell you as they're seating you that they have a 90 minute seating time limit. I always get a bad taste in my mouth when the time limit is 90 minutes instead of 120 especially when they're not even fully booked but that's just me :') Likely because I'm a slow eater but onto the food! NOTE: not everything on their menu online is available in person when you dine there but ALSO they have a lot of items to offer that aren't listed on their online menu as well so keep that in mind! ANTIPASTO -[SALMON TATAKI SALAD] (10/10) for me, the sauce somehow wasn't too salty on this version so I'll admit that I may have ordered this somewhere between 3-5 times -[BEEF TATAKI SALAD] (6/10) I'd assume the sauce is the same for the above and this version but they must also season their beef or something because I found this version to be too salty for my palette sadly :C -[EDAMAME] (9/10) I mean, it's edamame haha pretty tough to mess up but super appreciated that they provided an extra bowl to put the casings of the edamame into -[HOUSE SALAD] (8/10) I know, I'm the weirdo ordering salad at AYCE sushi but tbh, it helps me feel not as heavy despite eating so much in a short amount of time because the refreshing bites of salad act as a little break. I'm docking a point because I feel like they overdressed the salad but otherwise, pretty tasty! TEPPANYAKI + GRILLED ITEMS -[BEEF CUBES + MUSHROOMS] (7/10) this sauce used on the grilled beef/mushrooms were really good and coated each piece really well but I did find their cut of beef to be on the tougher side -[GARLIC MUSHROOMS] (10/10) this was originally ordered to share but once I tried it, I ordered another order all for myself :D that's how much I liked them but I'll admit they're rather slippery so beware! -[KALBI] (10/10) I was going to comment on how they were served at room temp which is odd because they're supposed to be freshly grilled but before I could, the meat was SO TENDER that it fell onto my plate while I was holding onto the kalbi's bone with my chopsticks. That should be all you need to know in terms of the quality of this dish - v tasty and tender SASHIMI -[SCALLOP] (10/10) very sweet and clean tasting so I ordered this several times - the cuts are on the thinner side but that's the beauty of AYCE, you can order as many times as you want -[SWEET SHRIMP] (10/10) also extremely sweet! the shrimp was on the smaller side but I mean, again, I just ordered this several times haha. This is also one of few places I've actually eaten at that will serve sweet shrimp in AYCE so that's pretty cool! -[SALMON/MACKEREL/SNAPPER/ALBACORE/SURFCLAM] (7/10) basically, other than the above, everything else was just pretty average in freshness/flavor so I only ordered them once SUSHI -[SPICY SALMON/TUNA/BUTTERFISH] (7/10) pretty average - other than the colors of the fish, I truthfully wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between each one so I only ordered one of each thankfully FRIED ITEMS -[CHICKEN SKEWER] (4/10) this is something you should avoid at all costs - the pieces of chicken appeared huge but once you bite into it, you'll notice it's mostly batter and any chicken there is hella dry :CCC -[CHICKEN KARAAGE] (10/10) I thought the above was bad because they just didn't have good quality chicken but then the karaage was juicy and flavorful so what gives with their skewer?! -[TAKOYAKI] (8/10) - standard but still tasty :D TLDR: make reservations as it can get pretty busy since it's in Dundas square - they bring the exact amount you order unlike other AYCE places so don't order 40 pieces of something unless you're confident you can finish it. This restaurant definitely deserves 3.5 stars, but I can't quite give it a 4. I came in for a team lunch and ordered the classic all-you-can-eat lunch option. The hostess insisted that the classic menu was limited, but I didn't realize just how much until we received the iPad to place our order. The only roll options with fish were a spicy salmon roll and an escolar roll (which arguably shouldn't be served as sushi). Everything else was either vegetarian or made with imitation crab. According to the group, many of the other options that used to make the lunch special had been removed, and we were all disappointed by the new limited menu. However, the sushi we did receive was well prepared, the service was quick, and the view was nice, which is why I rate it 3 stars. I'll likely head somewhere else in the future. read more

I have tried Kaka AYCE which is nearby & I think Spring Sushi is better. We had a lot of different dishes like garlic cubed beef, dynamite roll, salmon rose & many more. Everything was good, delicious & decent quality. Service: The service is great. All the waitstaff would quickly clear serving plates when they are empty. The dishes we ordered came out fast also. I can't complain about the service. Ambiance: The decor is looking slightly worn out lately. I think this place needs a fresh coat of paint & the washrooms need a renovation. The washrooms are also not always clean. They should get more regularly cleaned with all the people that come through this place. Also the doors in the ladies washroom are wonky. There are only 3 stalls for the ladies btw. Conclusion: Spring sushi food is a bit better than middle of the road but not quite 4 stars. So I give them 3.5/5. Spring Sushi Definitely IMO not one of the best AYCE Japanese sushi restaurant in Toronto. The size of the sashimi was decent and okay. However, the quality of the sashimi was not up to par. The white albacore tuna and salmon tasted awful, watery, and not fresh. Charging almost forty dollars is way too much for such low-quality sashimi! And like most AYCE sushi restaurants in Toronto, ordering is done via IPad. But you are only allowed to order 25 items per order which sucks. Some of our sashimi orders are either missing 1 to 2 pcs in both rounds of our order which is a turn off for us. The cooked stuff wasn't as good as well. The Salt & Pepper Calamari and Shrimp Tempura were average at best. The service and staff were quick and attentive which is the only thing good here. Located next to the movie theather, Once inside you have to climb a flight of stairs. The ceilings and walls are covered in cultural art work. The patio outside was large. The food here is alright. They have a huge selection, specially on the dinner menu. Do not make the mistake of opting for a lunch menu to save 5$, because you would be missing out on many options like the sashimi, specialty roles, mango salad, etc. The quality of the fish is 7/10, not too bad for all you can eat. Service is friendly, and considerate, but sometimes they are a little slow to bring orders. When it comes to the space, it is spacious, more spacious than most sushi places. I ordered a Ruby bento box and a side of torched salmon sushi (2 pcs). the food was very mediocre, but I did enjoy the torched salmon nigiris with spicy mayo & jalapeño. the tempura was oily, the rice was dry & the salmon rolls were big and not very fresh. I've had sushi here a few times and it's quick and consistent. It's certainly not the highest quality sushi I've had, but for a combo meal under $20, the food is a good value for what you pay. Most of the hosomaki was tasty, however they got a couple of my items incorrect. The serving sizes were generous and they gave me more than enough condiments to get through the meal. I tried some of the tuna hosomaki but I wasn't a fan of the taste or texture. The miso soup was decent but could've used some more seaweed inside. Overall, I'd recommend going here for an all-you-can-eat or if you're in a rush and want something quick that will fill you up. read more

Came around 2:45. Their lunch ends at 3:30 but as long as you get in before the cut off you can do the lunch option. Price is still 21.95 for weekend lunch which is the average price for Japanese ayce downtown for lunch, which comes with a lot less options than the dinner menu but still enough for a decent meal. Ordered a number of sushi pieces and they're quite generous with the fish portions. The salmon rose comes with two pieces of salmon so if you're looking for that sashimi experience for lunch, this might be it! Food comes out pretty quick and you get everything you ordered exactly as it's displayed on the tablet. Though, the first time you put in an order the waitress went and changed a number of orders down to 1 unit for most of the grilled options. Maybe they wanted you to make sure how large each unit is considered before asking for half a dozen, though in my case I already intended on getting a huge plate of sirloin steak. Went here for AYCE sushi on a Fri night! Location is a bit hard to find but it's in the top floor of the building with the Winners and even then there's a couple of stairs to climb before you're able to get in. The place was pretty packed but we had a reservation beforehand. The price is not too bad either: 35.99 for 1.5 hours and they don't charge extra during weekends either. Everything is ordered and delivered through iPad and our server, Edeline, was super kind and helpful! When our friend accidentally ordered too many California rolls, she helped us make sure they never came to the table (lol). The food was pretty good as well. There were a variety of rolls but the choices for sashimi and sushi felt like they were a bit lacking outside of Salmon. The teppanyaki they had was really good too, I think it was the sirloin steak that we enjoyed the most. There were a few other tasty side dishes as well like the tempura. One thing that was a bit annoying is although rolls came in 6, we had to order sashimi/sushi pieces individually one at a time. Another thing that was lackluster were the desserts. There wasn't much choice and most of the good looking stuff was locked behind extra payment. But I guess it's fair considering that the overall price wasn't too expensive. I had a decently large group of 8 people and some people were running late so the staff reserved our table and extended the reservation for us because there was a 2 hour limited sitting time. First time at this location. The sashimi was mostly good as was the general tao chicken, sesame seed balls, fried banana, green dragon sushi roll and calamari. The avocado and salmon roll was delicious as was the mushroom dish from the kitchen. Was very disappointed they didn't even have a pot of green tea when a party of 4 all wanted tea. The Dynamite Roll is disgraceful imho, the Vegas roll was even bigger and tastier than the previously mentioned roll. They didn't even have any avocado when i ordered an avocado hand roll. The white miso soup was boring and had barely any seaweed or tofu. The seaweed salad was offered in a tiny cup style bowl and overly salted imho and some people may find it too salty. They didn't have pizza sushi on the menu which was very disappointing. For dessert, they had mini Chapman brand ice cream cups in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Not only was it solid hard, they limit it to 1 cup per customer. So it wasn't even AYCE. Not to mention, if you wanted either cheesecake, red velvet cake or even creme brûlée dessert keep in mind those are premium desserts at an extra cost and not included in your meal. That is very pathetic. Sushi came to you delivered by a food handler and not their smart robot as they do in Hamilton. Food came very quickly and wasn't presented very nicely. What a great AYCE sushi experience!!! My friends and I went there on a Saturday night during the month of August. We had a reservation since we heard this place could get packed fast. Upon arrival, the hostess told us that we had 1h30 to eat since they have two different services. It was more than enough time, since their service is so quick!! The restaurant itself is very modern and the rooftop is decorated with plants everywhere, it felt very soothing. The food is to be ordered on an iPad, and you barely have time to send your order for them to bring it to you. It is pretty surprising, considering how big the restaurant is and how many people they have to serve at the same time. Everything we had was delicious, from the soups to the salads, to the sushis, to the grill or even the tempura items. The view on the rooftop is pretty cool, although hidden by bid buildings around. My only issue is that they didn't have low sodium soy sauce, but despite that everything was delicious. The waiters are very helpful, very quick and friendly. I mean, who can resist AYCE sushi after a movie or shopping? Spring Sushi has also been a spot where I've celebrated my life milestones at. It was where I had my first date, celebrated my birthday, and had my anniversary dinners at. On this occasion I came to eat after a stressful week at school. Our server was polite and insightful. I absolutely love it when servers explain any hidden costs associated with their menu items. For example, each person receives two free BBQ skewers but after it was $0.50 so our server reminded us of this when we ordered more than 2. Their signature torched series were impeccable as always. I'm always fond of their white tuna torched sushi. The buttery taste of the fish combined with the delicious sauce was very nice. Everything we were served was fresh and hot. Interesting concept AYCE sushi, ramen, Thai dishes and other appetizers all ordered through an iPad. We came here with a party of 20 no reservations we were seated really quickly. Parties of 12 or more are split between 2 tables. Buffet for $28 gives you all the sushi, handrolls, Sashimi, Thai food, udon and ramen. We placed orders of 10 items at a time and they came out in minutes. Everything from Katsu, tempura, sashimi, and steak dishes came out in minutes. We all really enjoyed the salmon sashimi tasted like butter. I think between 20 people we had over 100 pieces. The steak, galbi and skewers were really good and cooked medium rare. Sushi is really fresh here and the food is flavored really well. Only complaint about this place is with a great ordering system you would think they wouldn't have issues. Our orders kept getting messed up and we wouldn't get our food. With a lot of waiters our plates still were getting piled up and we kept having to ask them to take our dirty plates. The torched beef was better than the torched salmon. The torched salmon had some spicy sauce and Jalapeno on it which which didn't gel well with the taste. Finally AYCE is back! Throughout the pandemic during closures, I was missing the All You Can Eat experience like crazy! I'm glad that I can enjoy it again, and safely too. Spring Sushi is doing the most for social distancing, cleanliness and sanitation. All servers had facemasks too. I enjoyed my AYCE dinner on their patio, which was just lovely. Love it here! Pretty big sushi restaurant with lots of seating available and a nice view overlooking the Yonge & Dundas area. Once we placed our order, our food rolled out pretty fast. We got the shrimp tempura roll, tempura yam roll, California roll, edamame, pineapple fried rice and tom yum soup. We were all pretty stuffed after and enjoyed everything we ate, especially the tom yum soup for me . For dessert we got melona popsicles and fried banana which were also enjoyed. I took a star off because it's annoying that you have to go to the ATM to withdrawal money and that service was just average. It's also a tad bit pricier than your average all you can eat sushi place but I don't mind as that food has always been consistent and tasty for me. The sushi there is some of the best I've ever had. The service was super quick, I got the food I ordered in under 5 minutes after ordering! The staff are super kind even when the restaurant is busy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good restaurant to celebrate anything. When it's your birthday you get free cake under the all you can eat menu! The space is also quite big and the scenery is overall very beautiful and appealing. There's an accessible washroom as well and an easy to use iPad for ordering. For an All-You-Can-Eat place, Spring Sushi is actually not bad! While the quality & variety of the sushi here is average, you really shouldn't expect top-notch quality fish and rolls in an AYCE unless you are paying premium dollar. For the $30 they are charging (as of Apr 2018, plus a few dollars extra on weekends/holidays), you can fill your tummy to your heart's desire at the busiest area of downtown Toronto. It is also a bit cheaper than another AYCE sushi place downtown, which I would not name here. The decor is nice here with a casual yet modern/clean feel. They also have a huge patio overlooking Yonge & Dundas Square, which I am sure will be hugely popular in the summer. I was pleased with their aburi sushi selection - it does take some prep work to make and it is nice to see that they offer it. While none of the items they offer will blow your mind, I found that it tastes quite decent for a restaurant of this caliber. Ordering is all done through an iPad, though a server needs to come by to confirm it before it gets sent out which can be a bit time-consuming. Service for my visit on a weeknight was prompt, but I can imagine it can get quite busy here on weekends. Overall, I would rate this just a bit under 4-stars for offering a good return on value with decent tasting food. read more

I go for AYCE all the time here, but the limit of 1 Melona/person hurts my soul to this day. I do love the variety of sushi, appetizers, noodles, etc. on the menu though. It takes my group 15 minutes to order the first round of food bc there's just so many options to go through. I also love the iPad ordering system because it makes looking through the options and calling over a waiter so easy. Lastly, I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's quiet and peaceful with dim lighting and secluded seating areas for big groups. All in all, this place is great, but there are cheaper AYCE sushi places with just as much variety in their menus and UNLIMITED ice cream. I'd recommend this place more for where they're situated (Yonge-Dundas) than their food or prices. read more
