We went to Tile in Style when we were renovating our bathroom on the recommendation of our…read morecontractor. He had sent lots of his clients there with good results. With the help of Inga, the owner, I found what we wanted, and told Inga I would order closer to the date of our project. We chose not to order all of the hardware and plumbing needs for the bathroom (shower head, fan light, etc) as it seemed very expensive and our contractor said we could get nice stuff at Lowe's. Inga called me several times, and wrote me several emails pressuring me to order everything as she said it was in stock and we did not want to chance the tile not being available. I told her we did not want the hardware, so she sent me a "discounted" price, which still came out more than what we paid at Lowe's. We did order the tile in advance and had it delivered. It turns out we had two issues that Inga refused to deal with. 1. We had a total of 6 boxes of extra, unopened tiles (2 diff kinds) that we wanted to return for a refund. She insisted that special orders are not returnable, no matter what. When I retorted that she had told me it was all in stock so therefore not a special order, she gave me a whole long explanation and still refused to accept 4 unopened boxes of the shower wall tiles that is very expensive. 2. When our contractor opened the mosaic tile for the shower floor, he was very upset to see that the paper backing was stuck to all the tile sheets and he had to spend a lot of time scrubbing them off. I wrote Inga about this and asked again for a refund for the 2 boxes of mosaic tiles we were not opening or using and that our contractor had never had these problems anywhere else. She refused again, explaining why the paper was stuck on, which doesn't help us! I wrote back explaining that I would let her re-think her decision and if by Monday she had not decided to accept the extra tile back and give us a refund then I would make sure I gave her terrible reviews everywhere I could, tell all my friends to boycott her store, and I would speak with an attorney about taking her to small claims court. Her email response was that she would exchange any unopened mosaic tile with the paper on the back (too late for that for us), but not refund anything, and I should stop harassing her! My contractor plans on never sending her business again. I plan on reporting them to the BBB and possibly taking her to small claims court. I have never had worse service from a business before! Thankfully we love our contractor and the bathroom will look great, even if we are out a LOT of money.

We liked it so much that we decided to make a mantel top it out of it as well. Although most of their trade is with installers, Tony was happy to explain the fabrication process to do-it-yourselfers like us: cutting to size to a customer-provided mockup, softening selected edges, polishing added faces as needed. They understood what we wanted and suggested design that would work well. They assisted in choosing cabinetry, flooring and counter tops that all worked well together. Tom came originally to scope out the construction details and what would need to be done ex. vent for stove through attic, sub panel for electric system. Once the construction started Eric was the lead carpenter. He supervised the whole project. He was great. He kept us informed about what was happening when. He also introduced us to each of the sub contractors who came to do work. All were pleasant and professional. They put protective coverings on floors and doorways to limit dust. At the end of each day they cleaned up and vacuumed the work area. When one of the cabinet doors came in the wrong size, there was no question about replacing it. One thing I really appreciated was that construction did not start until they had received all of the cabinets, flooring, countertop etc so work went smoothly and was completed without delays.

We worked with Alyssa to help design everything, something she has great skill and a true eye for detail. She didn't try to push products or oversell us. If anything, she provided some suggestions on how to lower cost (used remnants for the quartz countertop; suggested comparing costs to Home Depot). Once the design was finalized, I was extremely impressed with Eric, the contractor who installed the island himself and oversaw the other contractors. He was excellent communicating with me each and every day. He noticed some inconsistencies in the wood on the cabinet doors of the island and immediately ordered new one (he still installed the original and came a few days later with the new doors). Everything was just so professional. I haven't had too many experiences with contractors in the past, but every one I (and my family, for that matter) have had for the most part have been negative. The project doesn't start on time, finish on time, guys no-show for no apparent reason, etc. This was the opposite. Watch City had the chance to move up the timeline, which fit into my schedule. As a result, the project was done a week early. If you're looking to do any sort of work on your kitchen, definitely give Watch City a look.

We aren't even in the market for carpets, but because my family is Persian, I'll often will stop in and see what someone has on sale. Barbie is not too familiar with Persian stuff so I wanted to show her some of the more fancy types of things that you can get. She was pretty impressed, but not enough to part with enough of our money to get one (which she pretty much controls and I like it that way, I mean look at her). What's more - these are good people, and all things considered, this is probably where I would buy carpets in Boston if needed.

The staff helped me select this type of runner because of the issue of my dog and I wanted a stripe pattern to coordinate with my wall color. The installers mapped the stairs on site to make sure everything was perfect before slicing the runner at the shop. They came back with all the separate pieces to install exactly in each tread.
