Ed worked with us to design and build beautiful built in bookshelves and cabinets that perfectly fit the space (with all of its uneven surfaces!), and even included a custom litter box space for our discerning felines. Starting in January, after 4 months of design discussions, measurements, and planning, my mom had given him half the contracted price as deposit 4 weeks ago, but 2 weeks ago he said he's not ready to begin the project on the scheduled date and wanted to start in the fall. My mom agreed and asked him to return the deposit. He came by when my mom was not home and gave an envelope to me, and I had stupidly signed the receipt (without properly counting the money). When my mom fully counted the money after she returned home, there was $1,200 short. He maintains he gave the full refund. My mom and I tried to speak with him multiple times, but he became angry and started shouting that he's done and he doesn't owe my mom a dime more. He comes across as a trustworthy person, but our experience has proven otherwise.
