I've been buying and selling here for over a year. This place is great for Halloween costumes, toys and accessories. I do feel like the prices on used clothes is a bit high given the quality but if you catch a sale or use a coupon you can get some good deals. The wait time for selling is long so be prepared to shop and keep it in mind if kiddos are with you. You get more in credit than in cash. If you don't wait with your buy they donate anything they pass on. All in all it's a great way to recycle! read more

This is a wonderful place for families to not only save money but to lead by example and teach kids the benefits of recycling! Every time we shop here I give my kids a few dollars to show them that they would not have gotten the money if we bought new. It's been a wonderful lesson for them. They also get a few dollars when they bring in their outgrown toys and gifted clothing to sell. The selection for girls is fabulous. Boys is good until you get to about size 8 - so glass half full here - if you have sz 8 and up bring them in to sell!! The staff is pretty nice and helpful. I shop and sell items at Kid to Kid at least 1 time per month. I love this place! The owners are fantastic, the store is clean and well organized, and the staff (especially Bethany) is very kind and helpful. I love the name brand items, like GAP, Mini Boden, and Gymboree, and can frequently buy an entire outfit for under $10. The selling process is very easy here too, with cash and credit (up to 30% more than cash at times) offered on the spot. They are very good at checking for recalls and ensuring the customers safety by not selling recalled/dangerous/outdated products. Used to visit Kid-to-Kid in Charlotte NC before I moved. This one was awesome in terms of shoes and jackets (which is thankfully what I needed most), but there was hardly any other clothes for kids younger than 1yr. My daughter is 9mo and fairly tall so some 12mo stuff can fit her, but not much. So for babies under 1yr, not the best place. read more

Tried to sell again for the second time and will be the last time I ever set foot in this place. As I'm waiting someone wanted to return a stroller they had sold because it was dusty and had tears, definitely not worth the nearly $100 paid. I recognized the brand as it's a double stroller I have that I paid $120 for brand new. The cashier tried to insist it was an expensive stroller. There are not many great deals. I see clothes being offered for mayb 50 cents less than the exact same outfit at Target(in some cases it's been more expensive). Not worth buying used on such little savings. So after waiting an hour with a fussy baby(can't leave the store to grab a bottle from the car) . I wanted to buy something for my son and the woman ran over before even talking to me and attempted to force it on me as store credit. When she said $7 I asked how many items they took. She huffed off and responded with 15. I said no thanks. She huffed again, grabbed the items, and literally threw them back into my basket like a child throwing a tantrum. Sorry your highness but I'm not obligated to sell these to you if you quote me an unfair price. Most of these clothes have only been worn a couple times. There was no offer to assist me into or out of the store despite the fact that I was juggling a 2 year old, an infant, and a basket of clothes because they don't accept if you take it in a bag. They don't want to make it easy on you and they don't want to give a fair price whether buying or selling. Oh no. I was paid $36 for a Graco Pack 'N Play I bought for $108 back in February. I am a regular at this shop, mainly because I'm fairly close and I like the deals. I only used the shop as a last resort due to Craigslist Denver shoppers being flakes, and just downright creepy-even when buying baby items. I found Kid to Kid a few months ago and have been really happy with my purchases there. They are one of the very few consignment places that carries cloth diaper supplies which I really appreciate! I've only been shopping for infant & maternity items and have found some great stuff, like Dr. Brown's glass bottles and a portable high chair. I love this place! I love that every time you go there is always something new. It's never the same. Great quality of second hand items for pretty cheap. I'm always there getting some new treasure for my son and soon to be little girl. Another great bonus is the staff. They are very welcoming and friendly. You feel comfortable being there. They do a great job at keeping the place clean, well organized, and stocked. It's overall a great place to keep going back to over and over again. To clearify, Kid to Kid is a consignment store. You go there to sell your unwanted items. They take only the best quality of items, makes sure everything works, checks for recalled items, and pays you either cash or gives you store credit for your items when you drop off your items. You don't have to wait for them to sell to get paid. Kid to Kid is not like Goodwill, Arc, or Savers at all. They don't just take anything. I have been going to Kid to Kid for about 2 years now. I sell and buy there. It used to be pretty good, but I definitely feel that it has changed. The employees seem unhappy, their selection is extremely limited, and their prices seem higher. Also, they don't seem to buy as much of my stuff as they used to. Super, super impressed with the inventory. I walked in, greeted by a clean, fresh feeling. Hardwood floors and bright lighting were very welcoming. There's a maternity nook right when you walk in, which also has newborn sized clothing. Lots of cool stuff. There are whole huge racks of winter coats. Many options for each size, both girls and boys. Very reasonably priced! Average $3 or $4 per item. (Which might explain their low payouts for buying used clothes??) Their shoe room is almost overwhelming, with what seemed like a third of their girls shoes being black dress shoes. Guess I know where to go if I ever need some. I was disappointed in the lack of size five options, there were a lot of tiny sneakers and then it seemed to jump up to size six. They also have toys and gear like strollers and bouncers, none of which I need so I didn't linger in those departments. Seems like a good selection though. Mostly good brand-name clothing. Not much of the lesser-known brands. I didn't really like the kids play area, yes it's nice that it's contained but I put my daughter in there to play and she panicked as I walked out of sight because she was trapped. There's no door and the walls are wood, so the only way in is over the wall and then the short kids can't see you as you shop! Neat idea though! I also got a corporate feeling from this store, they sold a lot of pre-packaged items like toys and bows and socks and stuff, plus the two ladies behind the counter weren't as welcoming as some of the other second-hand kids places in town. They were friendly enough, though. I'll be back to check out their Halloween costumes, which were out but covered with a big sign that says when they'll uncover them. First time visiting and very pleasantly surprised. It's deceptively large inside, clean with well organized and roomy aisles, huge selection of gently used baby and kid items at decent prices. The girl who helped us was very sweet and friendly and we were able to take advantage of multiple discounts and sales, including a free book club that allows each child to choose one free book (1.99 or less) every month! Not only that but they also have a small enclosed play area so kids can stay corralled and entertained while parents shop. A fantastic consignment experience! We will definitely be back. read more

If you value your time and don't desperately need cash, DO NOT sell here! They pay out about 15%; other local kid's resale stores pay out 35% and give in-store credit of 40%. K2K boasts that they'll give you an additional 20% if you choose in-store credit instead of cash, but what they really mean is 20% of your already low 15%, so we're talking another 3% or 18% total. That's not even half of what you'd get from other places! You may be asking yourself why I'd ever sell here if I'm this frustrated? The answer is because it was my first time and I didn't do my due diligence (even though I did try). Their website is vague and doesn't specify a payout amount - clue #1. I called twice and both times the ladies who answered didn't know and wouldn't even ask - clue #2. I have sold my kids clothes at other places, and they are really selective in what they want, taking very little. I was SO excited when K2K went through my first tub and literally took every single item except for four shirts. I felt like I hit the jackpot. I was there at the right time - right when they were changing out seasons - and I was ecstatic when they took all of my daughter's winter and fashion boots, gloves, coats, along with most of her dresses, shirts and other clothes. Nearly everything was name brand (OshKosh, Baby Gap, Gymboree...). The whole process took two hours and they gave a few things back (the sorter goes through things first and then the appraiser takes a second look and assigns the value), but overall they took 3.5 out of my 4.5 large tubs of clothes and shoes. And then she (a lady that I've seen working there nearly every time I've been in the store over the past 5 years) calls my name and tells me that it's... $90 cash, but I could "take in-store credit for another 20% and basically double the amount". Being in complete shock, I look at her and ask (because I can't even do simple math in my head at this point), how much would that be? $108. I was speechless and didn't even know what to do. I said that I'd take the in-store credit, paid for the items I'd picked out and left. Flash forward 5 minutes... I feel so taken advantage of, so used. I finally come to my senses, do the math and realize that there must have been a mistake. I called immediately and asked for the appraiser (of course she has left for the evening), so the manager comes on. I ask about the extra 20% and how doubling my payout for in-store credit should have been $180, not $108. She sets me straight. I ask that she lets her employees know, so they aren't misleading other sellers. She does offer for me to come back and collect my items. In hindsight I should have done that, but I felt guilty (Why? You ask. I DON'T KNOW! lol). Perhaps if I weren't already running late and would have turned around to pick up my items, I could chalk it up to a big fat waste of everybody's time, but instead, I couldn't sleep for 3 days! I was so angry and not just at them, but at myself for letting it happen. This horrible experience has been weighing heavily on me; thus, the review to let others considering selling here for the first time know the facts before making a decision. I read a few reviews that said that they don't pay out well, and I took that as their prices are low, so they don't pay as much as you might get from a higher end shop. Not the case at all! If my favorite store was buying at that time and took everything that this place did, I would have easily gotten $360 in-store credit (their selling prices are about 1.5x that of K2K). Or I could have gotten $180+ in tax write-offs next year. I'm angry! I want K2K to know that 15%, or anything under 30% for that matter, is UNACCEPTABLE. I hope that I can save people their time and effort. Donate the items to a non-profit and get a 30% tax write off instead! It's not immediate cash in hand, but considering everything, it's the absolute best deal out there. read more

Just moved to the Denver area and looking for GOOD kids resale stores. I will say that I am spoiled as the city that I moved from had the BEST consignment sale in the fall and spring and there was an AWESOME thrift store; I am NOT sure if I'll find that quality or quantity here in the Denver area but it doesn't hurt to look. I was skeptical to go into Kid to Kid at first as the K2K where I lived was overpriced, had yard sale-ish type clothes and had snobby employees. These things must be requirements to own a K2K franchise store. My first experience in the Aurora K2K was short of friendly and should have been my last but I suppose I'm a glutton for rudeness. I was looking for a Broncos t-shirt for my 3 year old. Upon inquiring about if they carried Broncos items I was practically yelled at that the items would NOT be available for sale for at LEAST another week, given a disgusting look and major eye roll. 2nd visit was to look for dance shoes and ware. The items were more than "gently used" and for a dollar or so more I was able to get brand new at another store. This time I was again met with rudeness and an eye roll. 3rd visit and final, I was looking for some school clothes. I DID find a Broncos t-shirt for a reasonable price and condition but nothing more. I went to check out and waited and waited. An employee was standing right there behind the counter, looked directly at me, almost through me, turned on her heals and went to the floor to hang clothes. Another woman behind the counter finally turned and said, "Oh, are you ready to check out"? I said sure if you want my money. She said "We ALWAYS want your money". She said she didn't see me as she had her back to the counter but she was ready to help me. The first thing she asked for was my phone number, I said unlisted and she looked at me like I had two heads and asked again. I again said unlisted. She asked the same girl that looked through me if she could do a transaction without a phone number. She said sure just get her name. WTH?? I JUST WANT TO BUY THE DARN T-SHIRT!! I asked WHY they need my name for me to buy something....well in case you're in our system...I'm NOT and believe me you, WON'T be. FINALLY and with some GREAT show and effort, she pushed some buttons gave me a total, took my ATM card to complete the transaction tossed the shirt at me along with the receipt and didn't even say thanks. I get better customer service and selection at ARC and Savers. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NIL, the selection minimal and prices are TOO HIGH AND I CAN PROMISE I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!! read more

We took several boxes of good, clean clothes in and they only (reluctantly) bought about a quarter of one box. Don't waste your time and fuel. Today was my first time attempting to sell some stuff to this store. I left extremely frustrated and defeated, mostly because of the lack of customer service and the way I was treated. I went in with my two and a half year old son in tow and was told that if I wanted to sell stuff, I would need to unload it all from my car. I am 8 1/2 months pregnant and NO ONE offered to help! There were three people working and hardly anyone in the store. After unloading all my stuff, including a bassinet and toy box bottom, I was told to assemble it myself and wait for the buyer to tell me a price. After doing this and waiting for at least ten minutes, I was told by the very condescending and rude girl working there, that "yeah, we probably won't buy that bassinet" and was then told to disassemble it and take it back . AGAIN, NO OFFER TO HELP. She told me that they already had a lot of bassinets.....which would have been nice to know before I did all that heavy lifting! I really don't care that they didn't take any of my stuff, even though it was all in great condition, but the fact that NONE of the three girls working there ever offered to help carry anything, hold the door, or help in any way, is super frustrating. And as a first timer, it would have been great to have had some friendly responses to my questions instead of them acting like I was bothering them! I definitely will not be attempting to sell anything else here and I highly doubt I'll be back in the store to purchase anything in general. Bad first experience! I called in advance because I have a lot of baby items that are taking up room that I wanted to sell. They were very nice and helpful on the phone, told me to stop by anytime. When I got there with literally 100lbs of merchandise to carry in while wrangling my 3 year old, once it was inside was when someone finally mentioned that they only take car seats if the manual is included. She also told me at that point that they do not need strollers because they "have a lot right now". My giant pile was then reduced to only a couple of items (after I lugged it all back out...with my 3 year old). I decided that it wasn't really worth it to wait in line for only these items, so I went to the front and nicely said that we might try to come back another day. The "buyer" then said loudly and rudely in front of all the other customers and employees, " it's only been 5 minutes since she got here." I most likely will not be back to buy or sell....huge waste of time :( read more

Waited an hour and a half to stay a lot of my stuff they couldn't use because they had to many like items. They had two people checking clothes, but only one person doing the pricing. This place is amazing!!! Went in here for the first time yesterday after I realized they took maternity clothes for consignment! I had a giant laundry basket filled with all things maternity and then some. The staff was helpful, friendly, and polite. They ended up taking 12 items for $18. Not bad for a consignment store, I do wish they had a donation option though. My husband ended up lugging the rest to the thrift shop for me. While they were looking through my items to sell, my husband and I decided to look around rather than wait. We are expecting our 1st baby in Jan. I was blown away by the selection, and how inexpensive everything was!! I am a thrift shopper before a reg store any day, and the prices beat Goodwill by a landslide. $5 Snowsuits, $1 Creepers and Onezies, $2 for infant shoes... What a steal! I was also super excited to see their crib bedding selection, they only have a few items that appealed to me, but again $2-3 for a crib sheet vs. $20 new is amazing!! I also wanted to get a mobile, bit new they are $50 and I just couldn't see us buying one at that price. Kid to Kid has them at $7-8!! We will definitely be in once our bedding comes to pick one out for our daughter. total wait time for selling? 23 Minutes! Not bad considering I had 50+ items! As a grandma who has been buying and selling for years at various 2nd hand stores around town, I am excited to have found this one! Huge inventory displayed so you can see it easily, lots of perks like the free book each month, weekly grandparents' day discount, and point accumulation. I've only sold to them once so far but it was great. Many of my freshly laundered items were declined by other 2nd hand stores (I know from experience to weed out any fading, worn, or out of style things and give to Goodwill before I try to sell) but I ended up getting $30 in store credit from Kid to Kid which was twice what I was expecting. It was fast and easy and best of all I don't have to keep track of my credit like I do with other stores! I am surprised by the few negative reviews on here and think that they are from people who are inexperienced at selling and don't realize the price you receive is right in line with all the other stores I've been to. If you haven't sorted out the poor quality things or haven't freshly laundered them, you definitely cannot count on them buying anything. I took their advice of a quick touch up with the iron and think that must have helped quite a bit since they bought things others didn't. Also I have been through quite a few of the racks in different sizes on 3 occasions and have never found anything with rips or dirt. And a smell of pot being in the store is absurd. Who is writing this stuff? The clerks are friendly and offer help as soon as I walk in. My granddaughters love looking at all the books. They are too old for the play area but I doubt parents are supposed to place a kid in there and leave them unattended. A lot of the store is visible from the play area and if you have to go elsewhere, take the kid with you. After years of going to several different secondhand stores in the area, I am now only using Kid-to-Kid. They buy the most from me, sell good used clothing at good prices, and have a staff I feel comfortable with--that means a lot to me. read more

This review is for the Aurora, CO location (this page says Arvada but the map says Aurora). I usually shop at Once Upon a Child but since they have a limit of only 1 or 2 containers per day that you can bring in to sell I decided to try Kid to Kid instead. I went on a Monday and it took me a minute to get the ladies' attention, but once I did things went quickly. I had four fairly large containers full of two years' worth of little boy's clothes and shoes, and some great maternity clothes, and they actually looked through all of them! It only took an hour, so that was awesome (like I said, I was there on a Monday, wouldn't have ever taken in that much stuff in at once on a weekend). I had some really great clothes and shoes, good brands and in very good shape, and wasn't expecting much because you never get much money selling this type of stuff. Lo and behold, they actually gave me twice as much as I had anticipated! So as far as selling my stuff, I had a good experience; partly because their staff was nice and quick and partly because I'm a realist who knows what to expect from consignment-type stores like this. While I was there I did a little shopping to get some jeans/pants and shirts for my toddler-aged son. The store is very nice and clean and they had a good selection of toys, but I think that, compared to Once Upon a Child (the location off Littleton Blvd/Wads), Kid to Kid's prices on clothes were higher and there wasn't as much selection as Once Upon a Child. Still left with some cute clothes, cash in my pocket, and a cool toy motorcycle for my little guy, so I would sell there again for sure and had an overall good experience. Seriously, when you have little ones that grow like crazy, don't buy new, go to a place like Kid to Kid, your pocketbook will thank you. read more

I loved coming here to shop. Decided I would try to sell. Now I live far. About an hour away (assuming traffic is good) into the mountains. I called ahead and to ask if they were taking baby girl clothes specifically 6-9 months, winter items. I got a short quick response of "yes". I then continued to ask if they accept Jumperoo's. And she says "we don't give quotes over the phone" I politely responded with "that was not my question", then asked her again. But worded it differently. "Are you looking at jumperoos?" She responds with well we're always willing to look. I then proceeded to match up all my daughter outfits, and keep similar items together. Knowing I have a really awesom pink petals jumperoo, I loaded it and my 3 boxes of clothes into my SUV and trucked it down the mountain and into the city. When I arrive I walk inside and make sure they have room for me to put my huge Jumperoo and the 3 boxs. The lady behind the counter proceeds to tell me they are not looking at jumperoos right now because they have a lot of them. But that since I brought it all the way here, to just go ahead and bring it in. So I did. I brought all my stuff inside and waited with my daughter. Also, on a side note there is NOWHERE for the adults to sit. There is a small toddler/child's table. If you weigh over 95lbs, just plan to sit on the floor, unless you want to walk around and spend all the money your trying to make. Anyways, I'm watching this lady start to go through my stuff. And after awhile I'm noticing she isn't even considering ANYTHING that isn't in a set. So after another 15 mins I ask her about it. This lady tells me "if the clothes are 12 months or under we only accept them if it is a COMPLETE SET and we're not really taking winter girl items, we just have too much". I respond with "okay, maybe when I called this morning, and asked if you take 6-9 month winter stuff for a girl, and whoever it was told me "yes" she didint think to be like "yes, but". I had told her how far I lived. And I feel she completely wasted my time. They did buy the Jumperoo because I had a really awesome Jumperoo. But their customer service is crap. Maybe put a sign on the wall with ques of what to say. We are taking these items only. They literally wasted the majority of a really nice day for me. All because this lady couldn't say "yes, but...." or just "no" I would have taken that. Anyways if your just buying this place is okay. To sell, AWFUL. When they were giving me the cash for what they bought this lady trying to fight with me over brands. Now just because I live in the mountains you think I'm stupid and I don't know brands. I know the difference between carters from target and carters from Walmart. Lol. So fast forward to the next day. I decide to go through and sell some of the clothes on this app called poshmark. 10 seconds into the boxs left I notice they had split up 3 or more piece sets. So for example this one set was 2 onesies and a pair of pants they only took one onesie and the pants. And left the onesie I'm assuming they didn't like. To make my then set, worthless. My kids are older, so the selection was a little smaller, but they seemed to be very well stocked in smaller sizes. I sold a lot of my clothes back to them and didn't get as much back as I had hoped for, but when they sell them so inexpensively, that's to be expected. Great customer service. read more
