TIPS FOR VISITING: -WAIVER: If you're a new visitor -- upon…read morestepping inside, turn right and fill out the waiver on the computers by the window first. If you wait in the line to pay, they will ask you to go fill out the waiver first. Then you'll have to go wait again in line to pay. If you've been before, I believe they just keep the waiver on file (not sure if/when it expires). -SOCKS: Don't forget to wear socks. Also, don't forget to take off your socks as soon as you get home to wash them. -SHOES: Remember to put your shoes back on immediately after stepping inside the "shoeless" areas. The shoeless areas are 1) the enclosed baby/toddler area and 2) the main play structure. The baby/toddler area has its own shoe shelf just outside. The main play structure has multiple shoe shelves at various entry points. The reason I emphasize this is that if you're walking around the high-traffic "shoed" areas (arcade, food, etc.) then you're obviously picking up nasty stuff with your socks. Then if you go back into the shoeless play areas, you can track it (and obviously inside your house too). I actually made this mistake because I was used to other indoor playgrounds where you take off your shoes at the front and have to keep them off. For instance, Me Land in Georgetown requires shoes off at the front and then they stay off (including in the bathrooms, yuck). -CLAW MACHINE: The giant claw machine with the huge bouncy balls has great grab and is really easy to win. Probably because it's $5.50 to play so they make a profit either way. You just need to make sure the ball is unobstructed on the sides and it's yours. -SMALL CAROUSEL: The small car carousel at the toddler arcade was free. Not sure if it was just that day or always the case. Either way, press the Start button to test it before you pay. -EXIT PROTOCOL: Prepare to get checked out (stamp scan) -- it's a safety protocol to ensure kids leave with their designated adults. Mt. Playmore is overall pretty great. The main play structure is a bit redundant with less interactive areas than I'd have liked to see. Still fun with a lot of climbing opportunities. Was reasonably easy to follow my 2-year-old through the play structure. PRICES: Very reasonable rates for kids that vary based on age (and also vary slightly on weekends). Only $1.99 each for adults (16+). Overall, I think the rates are really reasonable and the age distinctions are fair. BABY/TODDLER AREA: I really liked the baby/toddler area. First and foremost, it's gated with an attendant who will confirm age if needed. Meaning, it won't get infiltrated by older kids (an annoying reality of many toddler playspaces). Awesome. It was spacious and had quite a few interactive things to do, including the Step2 rollercoaster car track (2 of them). Also a few little cars to drive around in. My 2-year-old enjoyed it. SHOE SHELVES: I love that their shoe shelves are directly outside the shoeless play structures. As I mentioned above, it took me a minute to appreciate the convenience of this set-up since I'm not used to it. But ultimately, it's ideal. ARCADE: The obvious draw here is the arcade. It's a really nice arcade with a variety of large games. There's more old school carnival-type stuff and some new shiny VR games. Overall, a nice selection. It is loud and overwhelming and tough for anyone with sensory issues. There's also a small arcade for younger children right outside the baby/toddler area. This has a small carousel, moving cars and such, and a few games. Also, a good selection. The prize area had a decent number of options available as well -- with tiny trinkets to choose from even if you barely got any points. EXIT/SAFETY: I was a little confused by their exit system. I noticed a line of people standing at the exit ramp (by the prize area). My husband just passed them and went through the gate. Everyone stirred as if they were unaware that they could exit independently? Then the front desk attendants asked us to show our stamps (they're black light activated). I didn't understand why at the time but I looked into it later and it turns out it's a safety measure to ensure that children don't leave with the wrong adult. Definitely appreciate that. Anyway, I'm not sure if there's typically someone manning the gate and scanning people out? Or maybe the gate is just there to keep young kids contained and the waiting families didn't realize that. It was unclear. I didn't see any signs asking people to wait or to check out at the front desk. I appreciate the security system but maybe a little clarity could help.

Upon entering, they ask you for showing signed waiver, which is valid for an year. We showed it during first entry but we're needed to tell phone number the second time. They stamp on your hand, very light, more like just a formality and let you enter inside a small door. Pretty big play area with tons of slides and other games for all kids. There were rounds table as well in one zone where families or adults were hanging out. At the back, they have 4-5 rooms for birthday party. It's little bit small size but ok for birthday party. They have setup for kids size table and big table one side for other items like pizza (which is in House provided) and other stuff. I think they allow some outside food, not sure. At one of birthday, I saw chips and guac and salsa so thinking so. At the center of room, you can have big chair for your kid to sit/stand for cake cutting. They provide a cart as well for moving your stuff from room to car which I think is pretty helpful. Staff usually is there throughout the event and checking on food, serving cake and all. Bathroom are clean and spacious too. Location is good on 183 highway so I think that's why this place is always so busy. Consider this for your toddler fun day or an event.

This recreation center…read moresits in the midst of a huge complex that includes a church, a high school, and athletic complex, a sports field for the high school, a recreation center and this is the second year we have experienced The Quarries Camps. The campus surrounds a beautiful lake where kayaking and canoeing and fishing all provide fun, while the view of a lake that looks like it's capped in shimmering glass is really special! So I'm now going to focus on the Quarry Camp-and I may open a Yelp location separate for the Camps -(yep -they have multiple camps available). Since my grandsons have been to Quarry Camp two years consecutively it is the one we have the most experience with. They make it very easy to register, sign waivers, choose if you want a full week or to come in whatever days you prefer. I found the cost to be less than many other camps and more than a few camps in our area. I wanted to lock down the weeks we needed early, as our grandson had specifically requested to return here this year. (They did end up offering a discount for booking early and even though we had booked prior to the offer, they didn't hesitate to send me a check for $40 which was the discount amount -immediately after the discount was offered.) Here is a description of the activities included in a full week at Quarry Camp. MONDAY-is a day spent at the camp itself. Getting your child settled in -meet their specific group camp counselors, learn the sign in -sign out process-and most importantly take advantage of the ability to give cash for snacks which they put on a card that can then be used based on your specifications. For example we felt $2 a day was enough for the snack bar daily-so we gave them a $10 bill asking he only be allowed to spend $2/day and they take it from there. The kids have free play the first couple hours in the humongous gymnasium, complete with a large bouncy house in one area, lots of basketballs and hoops, soccer balls etc. After lunch they go up to the "Game Room" which is one of the rooms available upstairs that has pool tables, multiple televisions, air hockey and more. TUESDAY-they all get on a bus and go to a different building with in the compound for a movie , popcorn and a soft drink. After lunch gym play and game room and they go down to the snack bar about 45 minutes before camp ends at 4PM. WEDNESDAY-is water park day! A favorite of all the kids. They can wear or bring appropriate swimwear and water shoes and lots of sunscreen is encouraged. Typhoon Texas is a large water park in Austin. They provide lunch on Wednesday catered at the water park by "Raising Canes" Chicken fingers, fries and tea or lemonade. The kids had a blast with a couple hours available before and after lunch so the kids had plenty of time to experience it all. THURSDAY-is jump park day. A trip to Altitude is in order. Child centered play, with Free time built in. Game Room and Gym when you return. FRIDAY-is a fun filled day which wraps up the week! A picnic, then play along the shoreline of the lake as well as kayaking and canoeing . Some general info: The size of the groups the kids are divvied into (based on age) is manageable and they have adequate staff assigned to each group-however they all work well together for larger activities. Kudo's to the Counselor Team, helpful, -smiling-always cheerfully greeting the child when they arrive in the mornings. We've not experienced any team member that didn't seem happy to be there! The kids bring a water bottle daily along with their lunch-the exception being Wednesday when they have a catered lunch at the water park . Camp hours are 0800-1600 however there is flexibility so coming late or leaving early is permissible. If you want to attend all the group outings you do need to be there by 0930 as that is when the bus leaves. This camp provides a safe, enjoyable camp experience and I'm guessing I will get a request to return next year !!!! Definitely a Five Star experience for our family!

The Giraffe barn is attached to one side of the house, and their pasture is on the other side. It is the most fabulous "Barndominium" with incredible finishes and clearly thoughtfully designed. That experience alone was mind-blowing.... however we also had the Gold Packages and were able to experience everything the ranch had to offer! Zebras, Capybaras, Kangaroos, Otters, Deer, Homer the Dromedary!!! Everywhere you turned there were more animals and more experiences offered. My children and I were in absolute animal heaven and will be thrilled to return. I will say, our vacation was expensive and it did not disappoint. However, I do believe you can absolutely visit this ranch on a budget.... Probably one of the best experiences was their ranch safari and that is a nominal price and totally worth it! You can see the entire property and all of the animals on the safari trip. Additionally they have fantastic cabins that are themed, and if you have children under the age of 10, the pirate themed cabins are beyond your wildest imagination.... as far as I am aware all of the sleeping accommodations include kitchens so you can absolutely cook for your family instead of paying for the delicious ranch food. That said... Chef Alan is phenomenal and out of this world excellent chef. Each meal was made with love and artistry. The staff at Blue Hills Ranch all go above and beyond to create lasting memories for you. I absolutely recommend this experience as a NOT TO BE MISSED event! We are already planning a return in October/November depending on availability . Cannot wait.
