This place is the reason why some moms are scared to leave their kids at daycare. Disgusting.

My kids are now 17 and 20, so I have no recent experience, but cannot imagine much has changed since we spent four years under their care. From the administrator Cindy to each and every teacher (especially Peggy and someone else whose name escapes me at the moment), it was a place chock full of learning and love. And somehow this flowed down by creating a very strong bond shared between the other families and Moms and Dads which did not diminish with time. Thanks again to everyone on staff for creating a nurturing, warm, highly competent educational experience for my children.

Their attention and care for children is second go none. The lessons are theme based each week and when my daughter comes home she cannot wait to talk about (ie: weather, eating healthy, writing...) whatever the lesson is. St. Marks has very accommodating hours (630am-6pm) and flexible scheduling options. I believe that this is a school/daycare that is truly 100% invested in the children and not just here to run a business. The school also provides a variety of heathy meals. There is also a large gym for the kids on gym days (I haven't found many other schools with this). A++++

My son is a student at this school and he loves it. It is a school for "gifted" children and while…read moreI hate that label it is what it is. The school goes from pre K-8th grade which is a great thing since the kids will be in one school until high school. It is a private school so it does cost quite a bit but it really is an exceptional school. Whether or not it's worth the money I can't really say. Personally, I would cringe at the price tag if Einstein himself were teaching my child. They just built a new building this year and it is amazing. So much better than the old building they were in. Lots of room and the capability to have more students, classes and teachers. Some pros: The facility is wonderful, the teachers are great and really care about the kids. Reading and math are based on ability, not on grade. So, if your 5-6 year old is reading like a nine-year old, they will be put in with those readers. The school isn't even "grade" based. there is no "1st grade", etc. It is level based. They have a GREAT fine arts program. Extensive art, music and drama programs that you won't find in a public school. Some cons: There is a bit of an elitist attitude there at times but I think it comes more from parents than the staff. There is a bit of communication problem with the school and the parents. There just doesn't seem to be a cohesive way for parents to get the information they need. If you're considering sending your child here, definitely sign up for a visit and a shadow day. Personally, as long as we can afford it, my son will be going to this school.

I feel more confident and motivated, and I have made some amazing friends. One of the things about SAA that makes it unique is that the fact that you will do as well as the work you put in. As long as you take advantage of the local resources and have some self motivation to do well, it isn't hard to master the schoolwork and beyond. The teachers are willing to help if you are willing to ask, even when it comes down to academics beyond the classroom. For example, when I needed help for my High School application, or improving my SAT scores, my teachers were glad to lend me a hand. Also, I have to give props to the excelled math program that SAA offers. Where I initially did not enjoy math as a subject at all, SAA motivated me to improve my math ability. I eventually became part of the Math Team and found a passion for mathematics. SAA was a great choice for me, and I got a lot out of my experience.

If I could, I'd give this place a million stars for the awesomeness that it is!…read more When considering preschool, I was so nervous about my little one who was at home till then, about transitioning, about developing as a person and whether the school I chose was in line with all I wanted. Messiah is perfect to a T. When my daughter started school, she had a hard time napping, the teachers rubbed her back, sang her a song, gave a hug. How wonderful! She said she loved how they treated her "with love" and helped transitioning a breeze. Every time I drop her off, I see her excitement and joy to be back there, and that speaks volumes! The teachers provide an "old school" feel, and it was exactly what I was looking for. By old school, I mean it in the best way possible, kind, patient, loving environment; not the sterile robot like environment of many schools nowadays. The activities change throughout the day, kids get to interact with others outside their classroom. I LOVE that they have a huge playground with plenty of safe, fenced area to play and explore. I think I have a super smart kid (as I'm sure all parents think) and Messiah challenges my child. She learns way more than even I thought possible. Not only learning, but building in a child the yearning to want to learn/read more. Super clean facility, healthy lunches, lots of learning mixed with play makes Messiah just an awesome place. I'm so thrilled I chose it and will continue with my daughter there through Kindergarten, as our school district only offers half day, where Messiah has full day Kindergarten/care combined.

He absolutely loves going, runs down the hallway in the morning and asks if he can go to school. The teachers are fantastic and very hands on. My son attends the preschool and extended care program as well. For the preschool morning, the parents receive an email of what they did that day. They spend plenty of time outdoors playing on their multiple playground, doing chalk and bubbles. During drop off and pick up, the teachers are sitting with the kids and play games/cars/toys with them. This is a huge difference compared to my child's other daycare he went to. In the past 3 months my son has rarely been sick. I think that has something to say on the cleanliness as well. I'd highly recommend to send your child here for preschool.

If I could assign 0 stars, I would. My youngest three children (2, 3, 5) started when we moved to…read morethe area in April. I submitted all requested paperwork, including my daycare assistance paperwork prior to the children's enrollment. After their first week, we were blindsided with the requirement of paying for the tuition ($1250!!!) upfront because the assistance change of provider form was not completed yet by the state. After that situation was figured out, we began experiencing problems with the "teachers" in my daughter's classroom. My daughter is autistic, which was indicated in enrollment conversation, as well as all paperwork. None of my daughter's teachers were notified of her diagnosis, including the assistant director! We've also had multiple last minute classroom cancelations due to staff shortages and "emergencies". The teaching staff is also definitely not equipped to deal with kiddos with exceptional needs, i.e. Autism and ADHD, as I received multiple "incident reports" for various behaviors that a qualified early childhood educator would be able to manage. As a former daycare employee myself, I understand that some of the assistants are simply college aged students working to pay for school, but the full time staff is barely any better. The only room that possessed any level of competence is the 2s room, which was the room that was continuously closed with very little notice. If you do not have a flexible job/career, and want your child cared for, I'd steer clear of this location. The center is also rarely clean, and I've seen literally hundreds of bugs flying by the lights. 0 stars.
