My niece absolutely loves it and I love the nostalgia I feel knowing that I was there when I was a kid and have pictures riding the same rides. We regretfully went on Saturday 03/10/2018 which happened to be busy due to Spring Break starting and HOT. The line to the concession stand was ridiculous. I spent over 20 minutes waiting to get a beverage. Do u think a child wants to stand in line for a beverage?! Of course not, so when 14 minutes passed while still in line I requested to speak with a manager to see if they can open up a second window due to the delay and even suggested drink only because it was really hot that day. (Which they do have a second window). The associate left and after another 8 minutes, im still in line, comes backs and stated the manager cant come and told me to tell u they can not open the second window because it will delay the food orders and plus its Spring Break so its busy. What, so they can't open the second window because they were busy? Thankfully i was not part of a scheduled party because i would be spending half at the concession stand. And if you look at what they replied they clearly dont care for "individuals vs parties" as they mentioned we were busy yet had not mentioned we should have opened another window KNOWING it would be busy. The Kiddie Park is a great place for younger kids. My two and a half year old about lost her mind when she realized that she could get on this crazy things that move! Ha. She could ride almost every ride without a problem. There was one ride that recommended that toddlers ride with a big kid, and I didn't want to squeeze on it. All of the rides essentially go in circles, but my daughter loved all of them! Her favorite was between the carousel and the boat ride on real water! They offer standard carnival food, and we enjoyed a Frito pie. It is also totally shaded by big beautiful trees, so it should stay pretty cool. I judged this place pretty harshly when I saw its... uh, well-loved vintage rides. However, my daughter adored all of it, so the park won me over in the end! read more

Old. School. I'm pretty sure nothing has changed since this place opened decades ago. It's so old school. But that's what makes it special. Lots of history and nostalgia. Your best option is to get the unlimited rides wristband ($13), otherwise you pay for each ride separately and they're $2.50 each. There are about 7-8 rides, so even if you ride each just once, the wristband pays for itself. We went on a Friday morning, rode all the rides, left to get lunch, and then came back in the afternoon for more rides. The kids had a blast and could have stayed longer than the 2-3 times per ride they each got. It wasn't crowded at all, so we got right on the rides and the employees would follow the kids around from ride to ride, whatever they wanted to do. You can also bring your own food (they have picnic tables), or buy food from the snack bar there. I remember seeing funnel cakes, hot dogs, lemonade, ice cream, and soda on the menu, but there was much more. read more

So much fun for the smaller kids, prob under 7. We love the rides and their accessibility for the smaller kids. It's weird but very cool.

We came today for a birthday party. It was me and my three children 5,4,&2 years old. 5 mins in my 2 year old ripped her ride bracelet off so I tied it to the stroller. The first few ride attendants understood, and saw no fraud. A third attendant bantered with me about not letting the two year old ride because of the bracelet not being on her body. I explained it's not sticky and she pulls it off. I called management to explain what was happening. Mike had the same "sorry bout ya attitude" no empathy, no problem solving, no offer to come out and speak to me. I then told the party host and birthday parents we had to leave, and after that third conversation, then the issue was resolved. This all was disheartening, wasted our fun time there, and could have been handled better. If your child won't keep the bracelet on plan to be pressed to find a solution, waste your time, and or leave early and waste money. Keep his in mind as well if you have a special needs child you may not do well with things attached to them they aren't use to. read more

My little boy loves this place. All day long he rode the boats, the bus, the carousel, the cars, the planes, and never once was I worried about whether he was too little (20 months at the time) because this place is made for little ones. At the end of the day, I was pooped and he was revved up like any properly excited kid should be. I recommend getting the wrist band for the day and letting them go at it as much as they want. They have picnic tables and a concession stand. They also offer birthday packages, which look like a lot of fun. read more

The park was recently updated. It looks beautiful, so read previous reviews' dates and take that into consideration. My 9month old was the fourth generation from our family to enjoy kiddie park. I was a little reluctant to take him, as I knew he'd only be able to ride the helicopter ride and the carousel. He had SUCH a good time. We went with my 85 yr old Grandmother and parents and I think they had as good a time as he did. They've done a great job keeping Kiddie Park up to date. Yes, some of the horses on the carousels lack their original tails, but they've added ribbons in their places. And honestly, my kid could care less. Do keep in mind that the grounds are covered in smooth pebbles, so rolling strollers or wheelchairs might be a little more challenging. read more

I have not been here in years and I brought my 3 year old and she loved it. She got onto all rides. She didn't want to leave. Very clean, and manager walking around asking how people are. Food was good too. I would be coming here again. No long times and workers are young but they seemed to care and help kids get on and off rides. read more

This place has been around a long time (longer than I have if I'm not mistaken) but recently underwent a renovation. I'll admit carnival rides have never been a favorite of mine. In fact, I'll admit I find them downright terrifying. And so a park full of them isn't exactly my cup of tea but if it's yours this place seems on par. After the recent renovation all the rides seem to be in good working order and seem to also be checked on often. (That said in by no means a mechanic, so don't take my word for it!) Our little rode the rides multiple times and loved it every time. I can't rave enough about the incredibly kind staff! This is a pretty fun place for kids under 6. They have all kind of little rides. My son really loves the little cars. If you go when they're busy prepare to stand in the line for the boats. My kids are three and under, and the Kiddie Park is a great park they can enjoy without my husband and I having to go on the rides with them. Because I'm not from San Antonio, I don't have the nostaglia that most people have, and personally I think it's time to renovate. There are ways to keep the 'old time' feel, but still offer new and updated rides. We'll go back until my kids outgrow it. Be sure to get there early otherwise the parking gets full and the lines are long. read more

We are from Houston and happened to find this Kiddie Park on our way to the San Antonio zoo. It's really good for toddler's my son is 2 1/2 and had a blast the wrist band is only 13.00 and well worth it. My only concern is one of the rides (I have no idea what the name of it is but, it should call the torture chamber) it's kind a looks like those twirly chairs but when it goes around the corner the chairs swings really hard. I hadn't not seen the ride and I was thinking it would go round and round like the rest of the rides. So we put our little toddler in there the lady operating the ride didn't even give us a heads up. As soon as the ride turned on my son was slammed to the left side of the seat, he grabbed on to the chair for dear life. If he hadn't done that he would of probably hit his face on the bar that's in front of them that they use to hold on. I had to tell the lady to stop the ride. She did and we got our son out QUICK!!! My son was so scared!!! The person operating the ride should just give a heads up to parents that the ride is good for older kids at least 7- 10. After that incident everything else was fine my son still got on the rest of the rides twice. read more

Yes I grew up here in SA but never had the pleasure of experiencing this park as a child. I finally got my chance when my friend threw her son's birthday party here recently. I took my niece and she thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't speak on the prices of anything since birthday parties include wristbands for the kiddos to enjoy any ride they please (with the exception of the inflatable slide). But I can tell you that every child there looked like they were having a blast! The place was crowded on a Saturday afternoon with about 10 other birthday parties going on at the same time. I did not enjoy all the small rocks covering the ground - it made it really difficult to walk in my flats - but I guess they're there for safety, maybe? Other than the rocks, the place was very enjoyable - plenty of picnic tables to sit at and so many wonderful rides that the kids all enjoyed. This park includes a small arcade area, a great big carousel, a ferris wheel, tiny boats for the small kiddies, and plenty of other rides along with lots of yummy snacks. If you have a whole afternoon to spend with a child, bring them here - I promise they will not be disappointed, and neither will you. Your child will have a very enjoyable, and active, afternoon and when it's all over that kid is going to be out for the night! But be sure you wear comfortable sneakers. read more

If you're looking for a place to take kids 10 & under, this is a good option. It's an old-school amusement park that's been around for almost a 100 years, and it shows. Everything looks like it's original and tailored for pint sizes peeps. They have a carousel, car rides, boat ride, and a small arcade. There's a decent amount of shade but I recommend going when it first opens. Lines are smaller and weather is tolerable in the summertime. I can't believe parents are giving this place 5 stars. Our experience was awful. The teenagers/employees operating the rides were not qualified for this job, they were NOT taking their job seriously. Did not know how to handle smaller children. Letting kids/parents open the gate and walk in as the ride was still moving. Kids jumping out of the rides before the ride has come to a stop. The park is not paved concrete ground. It is small gravel rocks, so if you have smaller kids and your waiting in line for ten mins for each ride, the kids will pick up rocks. Also it will be harder to push a stroller. The petting zoo lady was extremely rude to my kids. The lines were long. We went on a Saturday. The parking is terrible. The food was gross. We moved here to San Antonio two years ago, and thought we should check it out based on the great reviews. Please, if you are visiting San Antonio and have children, do not go to this place. I believe you would regret buying the overpriced tickets & food & wasting your time here when just a simple park in SA is very much better than this place. I have the fondest of memories of good ol' Kiddie Park. I choose to try and remember it the way it was instead of the way it looks now. I do not trust that these rides are in any way safe and despite the fact that the prices are reasonable for parents that are looking for a way to fill an afternoon, I would be afraid of putting my kids in danger. Kiddie Park is in desperate need of renovations and I don't really understand why they don't do it. Oh the kiddie park...I longed as a kid to visit this place and my parents never got around to taking us....so when my kids turned 4 and 6 I decided to take them. We went during a week day (school holiday, don't report me) and surprisingly it was pretty empty. I liked the fact that you are allowed to walk through the park without having to pay to "get in" you can check it out and walk around before paying which is nice. I had a 2 for 1 admission coupon so both of my kids got to ride all the rides for only $13 and we did visit the food stand they had there and spent about another $12. We had such a great time! I lived vicariously through my kids that day, and my heart overflowed with the joy it brought to them. Love this place and we will definitely be returning very soon read more

Really fabulous place! Kids everywhere! The park is all outdoors great for parties and for families. The park is very old but don't be intimidated every child dream place looking for a fun day! It can be a tad expensive....for both my kids was about 50$ for them to ride most the rides and get their face painted....but their happiness was worth every bit...they were so happy (5 &3 their ages) The rides are safe but questionable.....so with my babies I didn't let them do the ferris wheel...too rickidy...but every thing else parents ride free...only two we could fit on lol Bathrooms well kept Didn't try the food...always weary about that kind of thing... Really the only sucky part was the parking....we went it was jammmed packed lol so many parties were going on prolly why...but just be aware The staff were ok...not exactly like Disneyland happy faces...they looked like they just didn't want to be there but that's just my opinion...all n all the kids will have a blast :-) read more

This amusement park has been around for years, I came here when I was little. Great for 6 yr old and younger. They have pony rides again but the wristband does not cover it so get your coupon. We utilized it this year for our daughters 5th birthday and they had a blast. They have tables for simple get togethers or cabanas if you want large parties; you can also bring your own soft drinks, food, or water if you use the cabanas. The only issue we had was hostess was absent but that's always the problem everywhere you go. The staff are very good with all the toddlers and try to keep the place clean so be a good visitor and do your part to help. read more

While the kids working at the park are a bit apathetic, it is wonderful to go somewhere so simple and fun that my kids can all enjoy (ages 9, 5, and 2). I grew up going to this park, my kids grew up going to this park, even my grandkids have gone to this park. Two weeks ago I took my niece and my great nephew to the park. I was shocked at how run down it was. The paint is pealing, rides are missing pieces, and it was dirty. The employees did not seem to be happy and their petting zoo had animals that you couldn't touch...PETTING??? The photos in yelp are obviously old. After going through everything once, I was ready to go but, of course, my kids weren't! There was hardly a wait for the rides which was shocking to me because it was midday on a Saturday.
