When he started the show he didn't speak but instead stood there while he played a prerecorded message on a boombox. Because he didn't talk, the only interaction he really had with the children has high fiving them during the lame games he had brought. All that spiderman did for the hour was set up games and stand there while the kids played and gave them high fives. Spiderman didn't even participate in the games but just stood to the side and watched. I was embarassed by the lack of professionalism and quality of show provided for the large amount of money paid. I had been to another Spiderman birthday party a few weeks prior and the difference in quality was staggering. The following day I contacted the owner, Dan Marius, to express my concerns and he was unsympathetic and refused to work with me on a resolution. I would highly advise against hiring this company for any type of event. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. DONT EVER HIRE KIDDO WORLD. I don't typically write yelp reviews but this one is worth it. Scheduled a Minnie character to come to my daughters 3rd Birthday and everything was set and seemed to be going smoothly until I hear an email notification on my phone as I'm waiting for my character to show up. I check it (keep in mind my daughters party is currently going on and kids are now getting ready and antsy for something fun to happen) I check my email and I get a refund for my deposit. Both my husband and I look at each other in disbelief. They were scheduled to come at 1:30, I checked the email at 1:24 (given I'm hosting a party and don't f-ing check my emails every minute) and the email was sent at 11:22. Stating "so sorry have to cancel due to family emergency" or some bs like that. I called Marius in disbelief and left a message hoping it was a mistake. But he never answered. So we frantically started calling other companies.. but of course after 30-40 mins of me and my family members calling around everyone was out or booked on a Saturday afternoon.. and we realized we would need to improvise and move on. I still haven't heard from the company, a phone call, or an apology. I have sent Marius a very upset email (which held back a lot more curse words than I wanted to use). To be clear, I get it... emergencies happen; we're all human and life happens. However, what really pisses me off is that Marius and Kiddo World didn't have the balls enough to at least call right when the emergency occurred...1-2 minutes at the least, I don't need an explanation just a quick heads up so that I could have at least tried to find another entertainment. But NO! I got nothing, and instead got an email and apparently, they think that's sufficient enough because people who are hosting parties are checking their emails like they have all the F-ing time in the world.. instead of what we hoped was a memorable party for our daughter and her 50+ guests (yes we have a huge family) we got a lot of confused and disappointed guests, no favors (because it was provided), and no entertainment... Whoever is still reading my long rant, I will say that one company by the name of Happy Bright Kids (not sure what the gentleman's name was) was nice enough to try at least squeeze our party in, but unfortunately couldn't fit into his schedule. But he at least tried and was very apologetic for my experience. And I have received return calls from all the other companies I tried to call as well (which is a lot). So hire any other company other than this one because they at least have the decency to talk with you rather than send you a scared ass email (not even a direct email from them, I only found out because they have me my refund back through PayPal and the message stated they were cancelling) because they are too scared to deal with their actual customers (even if they might be upset) read more

Went to Kiddo World Disco a couple of weeks ago. Laaame. Based on the ad on the website and the price at the door ($15!!!) you'd think it was something amazing. I was excited and brought a friend to join me. Man, was I wrong. The event was held in a small dark room at a church. Most of the attendees were girls (why was my little man not notified?). There was a room in the back with some toys. It would have been great if the room was two or three times the size and the air-conditioning working. The characters came out and said hello. I am not sure why the ad said that the party was for 6 month to 7 yr olds. The dance part was more of a gathering of 3-5 year olds. 6 month olds don't actively jam to music and the 7 yr olds would be bored out of their mind. I pre-paid $10.95/p using PayPal. The price at the door was $15. Almost wish I would have waited till I got there because I wouldn't have spent any money and just left. Eh, live and learn. read more

I was a little skeptical but figured I had nothing to lose. I was surprised and gratified at the wonderful response - both from the kids at the party and my friend (and his very picky wife). I have gained several brownie (and curry :) points for hiring a character from Kiddo World. The show was simple for kids to follow and highly entertaining. But the moment that still gives me goosebumps when I think about it was when the character walked into the restaurant to the astonishment of all the kids (and my friends- the only two adults in the dark about the show). The kids just froze for a moment and then squealed with delight. That's when I knew it was going to be a good day. The rest of the show went like a blur - songs, tunnels, basketball, all kinds of kid stuff I've been insulated from (I don't have kids) but found refreshingly entertaining. The best part was how some adults felt compelled to join their kids in the singing, dancing and the fun games. If I ever throw a party for kids, I'm definitely calling Kiddo World. In addition, I can't believe that they allowed the woman dressing up as Dora show up SICK!!! However, it was VERY awkward when Dora had to keep pausing to fix her head because it was TOO big for her! I had such high hopes for this companies ability to give an excellent performance because of the testimonials I read on their website prior to hiring them, but I guess it's because the deleted ALL/ANY bad testimonials from their website like the one I wrote right after the party. Party favors were given for the kids fun games lil ones will love, I recommend these for younger kids. The person doing mickey even offered to wait for guests to arrive if we prefer. I also rented a clown who did face paintjng, balloon twisting and magic show after. Got a good deal with 25 off.
