Everyone's experience is different, and I am sure other people had excellent experiences with their characters. This is a review of Spiderman (Peter Version). Timeliness - One Star Spiderman arrived late, as parents know timing is everything. Extra anxiety on the party day, regardless if it is 5 or 10 minutes, is not welcome. Arriving late and then needing to change could be more professional. Character - One Star The character was wearing the same Amazon outfit as the kids. I am not saying that Spiderman needed an expensive suit, but the illusion was definitely lost when all the kids had the same outfits. Our four year didn't buy into it at all. Also, his outfit was not very clean. I guess for the amount of money you pay, some professionalism was needed. These kids notice everything! Sell the illusion or blow it, say your are the character's best friend, and here are the things they taught you. Performance - Zero Stars DUDE! This is the whole point, not dressing up. After seeing a party the week prior, with Ghost Spider (maybe from the same company), my expectations could have been skewed. However, coming to the party with a busted outfit, no planned games (duck, duck, goose...really?), and no other entertainment was frustrating. I am not sure what package we ordered, but if the lowest package includes Spiderman showing up late, taking a cigarette break (no he was not smoking, but he might as well have been), then running in circles for 15 minutes, please put that in the description to inform us all we should upgrade. Overall - One Star As many people from the party joked around, we would have been better off hiring one of the older kids to dress up. I'm not sure who is to blame, the company for not training or the kid for not caring. There appear to be many outstanding experiences described by other families with Characters.io, but our Spiderman was beyond disappointing and left us all unfulfilled and wanting more. read more

The day of the event Elsa never showed. I had 16 kids wearing princess dresses waiting on the front porch hoping to see Elsa and she never showed up. Before the party I had emailed the company to ask what the performer would do and if he needed anything. I was told he would play games and entertain the kids and needed a large space to do that. So I sectioned off a whole part of my backyard for him. When the performer came I told him where he could be to entertain the kids and if he needed me to round them up for him. He said "no I'm just going to mingle with everyone where they are at". I thought he was going to start that way to break the ice and then round up the kids and entertain them. He did not. The kids got super bored and moved from the back yard to the front yard where we had a jump house and basketball arcade games set up. My husband kept asking me what to tell the performer to do? I shouldn't have to tell him to do anything!! I was paying him to entertain the kids at the party. Finally he played some basketball with the kids on my husband's behest. I still paid him, (my mistake) and decided I would take it up with the company. When I emailed the company they said they felt bad and would refund me $50 in good faith. I paid $240 for the guy! He did nothing but just show up in costume. I replied stating i deserved at least $100 for the poor performance and increased stress of having to manage the entertainer who I had hired to reduce my stress of entertainment at the party! The company stopped responding. Such poor service and horrible customer service. I have had several parties in the past and the performers from other companies I hired for those events have been so good that my friends have hired them for their own parties. We had Spiderman come to my son's 3rd birthday on Cinco de Mayo and he was a HUGE hit! I was pretty blown away by how great Spiderman was with the kids. He had them play Duck Duck Goose, Hide and Seek, Ring around the Rosie, in addition to just running around and playing whatever activity they wanted to. He gave piggy back rides, did push-up contests, and played with their mini-basketball hoop. They had the absolute best time ever. He needed zero guidance from me. It is hard to know if you are taking a risk even after reading few reviews for businesses like these. I actually did not read all the reviews but it turns out the one from a lady in Dec 2023 about the poor appearance and possibly hungover Elsa turned out to be true in our case. We had our daughter's birthday party yesterday at a public park. 1 hour before the event I got a call from the company saying that Anna (the second princess) got Covid and she wouldn't be able to perform. Perfectly fine, valid reason. At 4:45 (15 minutes late), Elsa turned up and by just looking at her, I instinctively knew it wasn't going to go well. Kids were obviously excited seeing her because, well, they are kids. Elsa was fidgeting with her costume and wig and was clearly not in a state to perform for the kids. She did not bring anything with her which made it clear that this was a rip-off. No face painting, no speakers, no games, no story time, nothing. After I told her that were not informed to bring any speakers, she took a 10 minute break to get to the car and bring a bluetooth speaker. All Elsa did was do 2 sing alongs and posed for few pictures with the kids. Her 1 hour time included the 10 minute walk to the car, kids eating cake and pizza (which she kind of influenced by asking 'who is hungry now?'!). She had zero enthusiasm and energy. I have seen a similar character come to one of our friend's birthday party and they were fantastic, engaging the kids every minute. This was a total let down. Elsa's total performance time was may be 10 minutes and not 60 minutes which we paid for. I need every penny back and I will make sure this business takes responsibility for their actions and fix these issues soon. I am not someone who writes Yelp reviews but yesterday's experience made me super angry. I am waiting for tomorrow so that I can speak to customer service and complain about this. read more

Clearly I did not see all the reviews. And obviously they don't care as long as they get their money. Making the story short.. hired 4 Star Wars performers for my husband's 50th.. He is a Star Wars geek and I wanted to make that night a real blast from the past. Hired them for an hour- one came in on time, 2 came in late and the other is a no show. They promised a grand entrance- that didn't happen. They promised a Jedi training (so I asked my guests to bring their sabers)- did not happen. They only walked around. Oh and they did performed... for 39 seconds out of that 1 hour.. And the managements' response... "since they showed up" that they will not refund my money. I have filed a fraud report for these people. And btw- the darth Vader had a purple saber. Hmn... not even lit up. Refund amount after paying $700*... $136- for the performer that did not make it. So much for money back guarantee. I have filed for a police report for services not rendered- and they will get an F rating from me for FRAUD. We hired Moana for our wedding shower for 90 minutes. Yes, a wedding shower! We had all our family and friends over for a luau themed wedding shower. Moana added the perfect touch to our luau. They were really for the children's entertainment :) Moana called me about 10 minutes prior to arriving, arrived on time and in character. She seemed very comfortable and open to the fact that it was not strictly a children's party as some of the adults were so surprised. After plenty research I decided to go with Party Princess Productions. I was assured that that the performers were professional and had experience dealing with kids from 3-6 years old.
