Writing this 9yrs later... I went here when I was in 4th grade. I had a toothache and my parents thought this is the place that would take care of it safely and gently. Wrong! I had to have a tooth pulled. If I had to describe my experience id say traumatic. I am 17 yrs old terrified of dentists because of the trauma this place gave me as a kid. They gave me anesthetics but due to the harshness of the meds it made me throw up. I understand you can't give a child more because you don't know how much was left in their system however numbing shots can be used multiple times. I went through a procedure that gave me long term trauma no kid should experience. Let me lay it out. After the anesthetics made me sick they took me in a back room. No windows and my parents couldn't be with me. As a kid I was afraid and alone I also have horrible anxiety so I was off the roof anxious. The procedure started and I felt pain. No normal pain excruciating pain, I was in tears and the doctor showed no empathy he told me to stop crying. Who the hell says that to a kid? When we got home I was super upset. Till this day my parents apologize for what this place put me through. Still hooked on the fact a parent wasn't allowed to be there and he told me to stop crying. I went through this tooth pulled with no meds, I felt EVERYTHING. I wish we would've sued. Unfortunately now it's too late but when we had the chance we should've taken it. Please don't take your kids here they are made of all money. If you want a good dentist go to ABC Dentistry for Children in Gilbert. They are amazing and when you get procedures done it's comfy and welcoming. I went to ABC after this place and got more than enough numbing and a warm blanket. There was a window for my mom to watch and make sure I was okay. During a fill my mom was allowed to hold my hand while I was being numbed and then the doctor took over and let me squeeze her hand. They are loving and sweet and financially able to take care of you properly. Save your kids some trauma. read more

Dr. Rao introduced herself and she is so sweet. She suggested and thoroughly explained the sealant procedure for my daughter. Unfortunately I'm done with this office. Our very first visit was great. Our second visit there was a cavity & we had to schedule a day to get it filled. Fine. Got it filled, but my son was terrified and the dentist didn't have a ton of patience. Also told me he wasn't sure how good the filling was. Just went back for our 6 month visit & apparently the filling had fallen out and they suspected it was shortly after he had it done because the lack of filling caused his tooth to deteriorate. They said because I didn't bring him in they couldn't offer any kind of monetary make up. The tooth wasn't bothering him and I'm not a dentist, how was I to know it fell out. Went back today because now he required a filling + a silver crown + sedation. So $650 later it's done. But when we got home he kept complaining of pain. I finally stuck my finger in his mouth to discover his back molar was really sharp, and it wasn't even a tooth they worked on. Drove him back over, was told everyone was on lunch but they'd see if someone was available. Doctor came out and filed down or removed the sharp piece which I guess was sealant? Not totally sure other than I'm ready to move on. Everyone is pretty friendly there but it's a shame that there isn't a lot of personal responsibility. I see why people complain about cost over quality now. read more

The office is cute, but that is not of concern. This office is predatory in how it pushes you through its process. I have taken both of my kids to the dentist every six months since they were one year old. Never have I been told that either of the kids had SIX cavities a piece. Was strong-armed into placing a deposit for a plan of care they proposed was needed. The estimate for ONE of my children was $1,900 without insurance. I subsequently stated that I was going to get dental insurance to help with the price. I asked for an updated price with insurance on a Friday and didn't receive a response until Monday late morning with the updated price. Stated that it was still too high for our budget. I was then told that since the procedure is tomorrow (Tuesday, after asking for updated pricing on a Friday) I would be losing out on the $150 deposit since I'm trying to shave costs and take out the unnecessary portions of the Care Plan. Essentially I was presented with a lose/lose situation for stating that I could not financially afford the plan of care they were proposing even with the insurance. I lose the deposit if I cancel fully and/or I lose the deposit AND still have to pay for whatever the new plan of care would be. Once I stated that I was no longer going to do business with them due to not understanding, the office manager reached out with an option to try and talk to the dentist to figure out how to make it work on both ends. Too little too late, after my experience with Liz though. After seeing the predatory side of the business, I will NEVER recommend or take my kids back to this place. read more

TLDR: They care about money over patients, don't stand by their work and will do anything they can to charge. The owner (dentist) said, and I quote. "This is my office, have you heard of yelp? Go type your nonsense on there you're not a patient anymore." Wow worst least professional and most money grubbing dentist office! My whole family is made up of dentists and hygienists. I've never heard of or experienced SUCH bad care! Do not take your kids here. They're ineffective, inefficient (be prepared to be the only one in office and it still take twice as long as it should) and down right rude. They care about the almighty dollar more than you or your family member. Back story. We are private pay and Paid $1000 for a crown on a baby tooth on my son last February. When they said a crown was needed I specifically asked it to be pulled instead, a crown on a baby tooth made no sense to me being in the dental field for more than half a decade. I even was so adamant I disagreed with the crown that I had them notate it in the chart that we had wanted it removed. And they did. But, pushed by the doctor we did as he suggested and got the crown at almost no choice. A year later, the crown came loose. I brought in my son to "doctor" Mindy who poked his tooth for 30 seconds and proclaimed that "the body was rejecting the crown." And that I would be paying another $1000 to remove it now when that is what we wanted in the first place! First - the body wasn't rejecting the crown. What kind of doctor says that? Google it. Body rejecting crown doesn't come up. It's not a thing. Never heard of that in my life when working in a dental office. Huge red flag. Second of all, had they pulled the tooth as I had asked and they had notated, this wouldn't even have been a conversation. I called and asked to speak to the office manager. We are private pay and since the work had been on less than a year AND the treatment was NOT as we had requested, we had a problem with paying for what we asked to be done in the first place. We were told it was on the house and would not be paying for the extraction. Then we go in today, another dentist (the owner of the practice) said my son actually broke the tooth (so what "doctor" Mindy said was just a flat out bad guess). And that it was no longer on the house and now expected us to pay (another $1000 and I had just given them $600 that day for cleanings!) HAD THE TOOTH BEEN REMOVED IN THE FIRST PLACE AS REQUESTED THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO ISSUE. When I was told this I explained that you can't just expect someone to pay when you told them they wouldn't be paying before they came to the appointment and when the issue was due to a bad call of the doctor in the first place. That's when we were told to type our nonsense. So, here it is. Up to you to decide. Happy to be kicked out, I'd be scared to bring them back. What a waste of $1000s of dollars over the last year. There are other more reputable and caring options. Save yourself the heartache and go anywhere else. read more

The only positive thing I can say is that the place is cute and fun looking for kids. Not worth the amount of money they squeeze out of you though. If you have dental insurance, it will help. If you don't, you are much better off going to a regular dental office. I took my kids to this place for the last 2.5 years. The place isn't very personable. It always felt super corporate in comparison to the dental office we were used to in Chicago. The last appointment I took my kids to was about 6 months ago. They told me my daughter had a small cavity. They also told me that it looked like her teeth were straight, but that I should get a panoramic x-ray done at her next check-up up to be sure. I told the dentist "no thanks, you guys have made enough money from our family, her teeth are clearly straight." She said "I'm just doing my job." I said "I understand, you're trying to make as much money as you can." She then told me that my son's teeth looked good, no cavities and that now that he had all his adult teeth that I should make an appointment with their orthodontist so they can check on his wisdom teeth. I said "Wisdom teeth? He's 12! She was about to explain more but I stopped her and said "I'm done with this place. His next appointment will be at a regular family dental office." So TODAY after lots of research and asking friends that we've made since moving here, we chose a dental office and had our first appointment today. I immediately I liked it. Everyone was super personable, the bill was reasonable. They through in fluoride for the cleaning for free since we are new customers. They said my daughter does NOT have a small cavity like we were told. I honestly think that Kidiatric tries to squeeze as much money as possible from families because they are a pediatric dentist and will lose a lot of their customers by the time all their adult teeth come in. I always got the feeling we were getting ripped off every time we went there and completely regret not switching dentists after the first appointment. Being new to AZ we just stuck with it too long, didn't know anyone yet, and had so many other things going on trying to get settled in. If any of you feel like they recommend extractions too often or anything doesn't add up, get a second opinion! read more

We have been coming to Kidiatric since my son was 6yrs old. We love it here! Dr V and his whole team are so patient and caring. We are 1 week away from my sons 16th birthday & he still prefers to visit Dr V and his crew! Hannah at the front desk was so pleasant and informative , Selena l, his assistant was super gentle with X-rays and very helpful on helping him floss. We just love this whole team! I'm sad to have to post this. Every time we come they recommend pulling my sons' deciduous teeth. I get it if there's an infection, yes, but otherwise why not let him wiggle them out the "regular" way? After every time leaving there with a $300 quote for a new extraction I decided to get a second opinion. One on which this doctor agreed there's still time & no reason the tooth needs to be removed right away & cause my son undo stress & anxiety, The kicker- the same $300 extraction would cost me $90!! They used to be our go to, but I feel like they've pushed themselves into corporate and only see $$ instead caring for the patients. read more

I just took my son for his first dental appointment. He's got some sensory issues so I've been nervous to take him, but our visit was great. The whole staff was super welcoming and the office is very kid friendly. Courtney was our dental hygienist and she was awesome. She first took the time to walk us around and help my son get comfortable. My son was very nervous and reluctant, but she was very patient with him. She talked to both of us throughout the whole process and helped ease my son's fears. Courtney was so patient and caring and by taking things slowly, my son was able to get a full cleaning and walked out in a great mood saying how much fun he'd had. He was so excited to get to pick a prize at the end and even get a gift card for frozen yogurt for being cavity free. I can't imagine a first visit going any better than this. We have been coming here since our daughter was 6 months old and we love it! We've since moved quite a distance away and still come to the Chandler location since we love them here so much. Staff is all exceptional as are the dentists. Everyone is communicative and friendly and always works with a smile. Our daughter has had zero issues with fear or confusion on what is going on when she visits- they explain as they go so the little ones feel at ease. The location is super cute as well and very kid(and adult kid lol) friendly with video games, fun music and things for the kids to do while waiting. We had an appointment today for just a regular cleaning. The staff and doctor were pleasant, Professional, and made the kids feel so comfortable. What truly impressed me is after the appointment we went home and my daughter went outside to play on her bike. She hit a bump and flew forward and landed flat on her face. I was terrified her tooth was damage as she was bleeding profusely. I immediately called Kidiatric and asked if we could have the doctor take X-rays and examine her mouth immediately. Without skipping a beat Shannon said for us to come on over. They took us in within a few minutes and reassured my daughter she was okay. This office is top notch! read more

I dont even know were to start. This place has been has been amazing since day one. We started going to see Dr V when he first opened. The staff is super friendly, and you can tell by the kids having fun every time we go in. Very inviting. Today was the topper if it all. My daughter broke her front tooth off during school. I rush her to Dr V at 3:00, knowing they close at 5. They made room to do a filling and fix her front tooth. I have never seen a Dr care so much about his patients then Dr V. UPDATE: Holy Cow! We are saving $624.90 by going to another pediatric dentist! And, they are actually completing more work (& sealants) that was not even on my son's treatment plan with Kidiatric. I wish I would have discovered this other place sooner and saved so much money over the years! The worst service we have received at a dental office. When my child's treatment plan was created, we told them we would only be moving forward with the treatment that our insurance partially covered. There was one tooth that was not covered because it had been less than two years since they worked on that surface. We made it clear we did not want to treat that surface until insurance would pay and we were assured it was okay to just proceed with the other work. When we arrived for the appointment, they told us if we did not pay out of pocket to complete that uncovered surface, they would not complete any of the other work in the treatment plan. Our time was completely wasted. Further, my older son also had an appointment that day. When he came in they said he actually didn't have a full cavity in the tooth they wrote a treatment plan for, so again no treatment was completed. It is so frustrating that the dentists did not communicate this to each other or us before the appointment. We should not be told one thing at an appointment and told something different at the next appointment. In addition, the prices seem outrageous here. $190 for a small cavity on a baby tooth. For three fillings it was going to be over $600 after insurance. I never pay that much at my adult dental office for much more extensive work. We've never had this problem with a dental office before. The only reason we left our last office is because they no longer take our insurance. We will be seeking a new dental office that has better communication and is willing to work with us. read more

Little overdue review. My daughter loves this place and is always looking forward to her cleanings (twice a year). Receptionist is very sweet and welcoming. There's a variety of coffee (for tired parents such as myself) and popcorn for the kiddies. Always a nice Disney movie playing for the little entertainment (if there's even a wait). They're on time with the appointments, never running behind schedule and sending both emails/ text messages reminding you in advance for the appointment. Anna, a technician, was so kind, warm and professional- made my daughter feel completely comfortable and myself (mom) at ease. Very clean and sterile dental office.
